Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the model of competency based training in entrepreneurial skills to improve the ability of prospective graduate business education courses to students of Chemistry and Chemical Education, Faculty of Science & Technology, Islamic State University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga The data were obtanined from 50 students of The Study Program of Chemistry and Chemical Education. The collection of data was by questionnaire, observation, and interviews. The data analysisused regression analysis to determine the effect of variable competency based training (X) of variable mental effort (Y). Known results of the regression equation Y = 17 591 + 1.080X. This equation means that the better model of competency based training in entrepreneurship given the better mental effort learners possessed. The magnitude of the influence model of competency based training to the mental operations of 0886 or 88.6%. Thus the provision of competency based training materials in the field of mental effort can influence the entrepreneurial potential of graduates of chemistry and chemical education.

Abstract

This study attempts to identify factors that are considered critical for the implementation of ISO 9001 in UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. In this study, data were obtained from interview and observation of documents related to the implementation of ISO 9001 in UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The content analysis was used as an interpretation method for qualitative interviews data. Finding shows a number of factors that are considered critical in the implementation of ISO 9001. They are top management commitment and support, training, culture change, continuous improvement and performance measurement. Top management commitment and support is an important role for the success and sustainability of ISO 9001. The support can be in a form of their active participation in quality management activities. In addition, the provision of adequate resources as well as supporting quality policies is also critical for the ISO 9001 implementation in UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The other critical factor is the culture change that perceived as a strong foundation for the success of ISO 9001 implementation.

Abstract

Bengkuang (Pachyrrhizus erosus Urb.) has been known as natural insecticide due to the existence of toxic compound called rotenone. There are some publications on the usage of the P. erosus as pesticide but the affects of seed extract of P. erosus to the larvae of Aedes aegypti based on LC50 and their sub-lethal effects has been unstudied. Accordingly, the research questions were (1) what is LC50 value of the seed extracts? and (2) how does the sub-lethal effect of the seed extract to the larvae derived from their physical morphology and physiology?. The research was done by experimental study using completely random design of five different concentrations (i.e. 0,1%, 0,2%, 3%, 0,4%, 0,5 & 0% as a control) with four replication. Seed extraction followed Harborne (1987). Observation and calculation on the mortality of the larvae were done each six hours in 24 hours. Statistical analyses was done using One Way Anova and LSD test. The result showed that the concentration of the seed extract has significant influence to the mortality of the larvae of A. aegeypti (instar III) with LC50 value on 0,18%. Also, the seed extract caused morphological damages on some parts of the larval body such as head (chepal), chest (thorax), stomach (abdomen), anal gill and loss of hairs on the side of the body. The dead larvae always could be found on the bottom of substrate. The movement of the larvae tend to deliberate after six hours up to 24 hours. Based on the research result, we assume that the seed extract of P. erosus has a potential role as a natural insecticide especially on the larvae of Aedes aegypty (instar III).

Abstract

The aims of this research are: 1) to develop science Braille module for blind student at public/Islamic elementary school; 2) to validate science Braille module for blind student at public/Islamic elementary school based on teachers’ assessment. The development of the module followed the 4-D model of the research based development, i.e. Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. However, the present paper will only report the first three phases that have been conducted. The prototype of the science Braille module was reviewed by supervisor, subject expertise, and peer reviewers. The final prototype of module was reviewed by SLB teacher, elementary school teachers (2 teachers from inclusive school and 1 teacher from SLB) using the manual ideal criteria assessment. The result of this study shows that the prototype of the science Braille module was given a good score by the media expert and the teachers. This module has 7.13% as ideal percentage. Based on the result, the prototype of science Braille module can be used as learning science media, especially for blind students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) apakah metoeksper dapat  meningkatkan keterampilan proses kimia materi sifat koligatif larutan pada peserta didik kelas XII IPA SMA Negeri 4 Sampit, (2) apakah metoeksper dapat  meningkatkan sikap ilmiah kimia materi sifat koligatif larutan pada peserta didik kelas XII IPA SMA Negeri 4 Sampit, dan (3) apakah metoeksper dapat  meningkatkan hasil belajar kimia materi sifat koligatif larutan pada peserta didik kelas XII IPA SMA Negeri 4 Sampit. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas atau PTK yang dilakukan secara kolaboratif. Penelitian berlangsung dalam 3 (tiga) siklus yang masing-masing terdiri atas 2 kali pertemuan. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, serta refleksi dan evaluasi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, dokumentasi, ujian, dan wawancara. Analisis data keterampilan proses dan sikap ilmiah peserta didik dilakukan dengan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menghitung rerata skor ideal dan simpangan baku skor ideal yang diperoleh, serta membandingkan skor empiris dengan skor ideal. Analisis hasil belajar dilakukan dengan cara menghitung jawaban yang benar dan salah, setiap jawaban benar diberi skor satu dan jawaban salah diberi skor nol. Kriteria keberhasilan yang ditetapkan untuk masing-masing indikator keterampilan proses mencapai kategori Baik total skor 27,6 – 33,9; sikap ilmiah mencapai kategori Baik total skor 47,6-58,7, dan kriteria keberhasilan hasil belajar adalah kategori Baik 76-99. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah diterapkan metoeksper dengan pendekatan keterampilan proses dan sikap ilmiah, terjadi peningkatan rerata hasil belajar dari siklus I hingga ke siklus III.  (1)  keterampilan proses kimia peserta didik mengalami peningkatan rerata dari 26,3; 27,2; 32,8 pada skala Sedang s.d. Baik (2) sikap ilmiah peserta didik mengalami peningkatan rerata dari 45,3; 47,7; 56,2 pada skala Baik s.d Baik dan (3) hasil belajar kimia peserta didik mengalami peningkatan bila dilihat dari rerata persentase antara pre-test dengan post-test siklus I yaitu dari 60,4% menjadi 63,9% ; rerata persentase antara pre-test dengan post-test siklus II yaitu dari 71,3% menjadi 75,7%; dan rerata persentase antara pre-test dengan post-test siklus III yaitu dari 78,8% menjadi 80,2%

Abstract

Perencanaan pengambilan keputusan perusahaan dalam menentukan jumlah produk pada satu periode selanjutnya, bergantung pada sisa persediaan dari satu periode sebelumnya dan juga perkiraan jumlah permintaan pada satu periode selanjutnya. Jumlah permintaan dan persediaan merupakan suatu ketidakpastian. Logika Fuzzy merupakan salah satu ilmu yang dapat menganalisa ketidakpastian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penggunaan aplikasi logika Fuzzy metode Mamdani dalam pengambilan keputusan penentuan jumlah produksi.Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode Mamdani atau yang biasa disebut metode Min-Max, baik yang menggunakan dua variabel linguistik maupun yang menggunakan tiga variabel linguistik. Untuk mendapatkan keluaran dari metode ini diperlukan 4 tahapan yakni; 1) Pembentukan himpunan fuzzy; 2) Aplikasi fungsi implikasi; 3) Komposisi aturan ; 4) Defuzzifikasi, dari hasil defuzzifikasi inilah kita bisa menentukan keputusan yang akan diambil.

Abstract

Orchid species Dendrobium nobile Lindl. is commonly consumed by Chinese people as a natural drug that can cure various diseases. Pseudobulb is a part of the plant used for this purpose. Dendrobium crumenatum Swatrz. or Pigeon Orchid is epiphytic wild orchid, which widely found in Indonesia. As belong to the same genus, D. crumenatum could have similar potency to D. nobile. This research was carried out to study acute oral toxicity of Pigeon Orchid pseudobulb filtrate in Wistar Rats (Rattusnorvegicus Berkenhout, 1769) as initial assay prior to explore its potential as medicinal plant. Procedure followed OECD Test Guideline 425, which refers to animal welfare. Parameters observed including mortality, sublethal conditions, daily behavior, appetite, body weight, hematology test, and blood chemistry test. Results showed that no mortality was found as well as sublethal conditions that affected on health. Behavior investigation demonstrated that all individual exhibited normal activity. Furthermore, appetite increased, indicated by daily intake, which resulted in increasing body weight. Hematology test determined that no negative effects on the profile of erythrocytes, leukocytes, and platelets. Blood chemistry test stated that levels of glucose, total cholesterol, HDL, and LDL were within normal range. Levels of ALT and creatinine were also normal, indicating that liver and kidney functions were not impaired. In conclusion, Pigeon Orchid pseudobulb filtrate can be categorized as practically nontoxic. Based on this finding, exploration on Pigeon Orchid as a natural drug material can be conducted.

Abstract

Nature tourism/outdoor recreation is one the fastest growing tourism activities in the world. More and more people travel to natural sites due to increased environmental awareness and a high degree of urbanization.The objective of this research was to capture the image of Göttingen and its surrounding area, using a combination of structured and unstructured methods as recommended by previous researchers. The image determination was considered important for positioning and differentiating the destination from other competitors. From a marketing point of view, image determination could increase tourist interest to visit the destination, travel satisfaction, and intention to return. The structured method used image attributes, which were evaluated using a 5-point Likert scale while the unstructured method used three open-ended questions. In addition, the research was also done to identify the nature of outdoor recreation/nature tourism among international students. The study focused on international students, which have certain characteristics that are different from those of domestic students. Data was taken from January to April 2014. 326 respondents delivered useable responses/data. This research revealed that a combination of structured and unstructured methods was able to capture the underlying image dimension of Göttingenand its surroundings. Considering the high propensity for travelling and previous travel experience of the students, it could be interpreted that international students at Göttingen University are one of the prospective nature tourism markets. Therefore, customized marketing strategy could be applied to attract them.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor kesuksesan sebuah perusahaan adalah pemilihan vendor. Pemilihan vendormerupakan masalah pengambilan keputusan penting agar mendapatkan pemasok yang dapatmeningkatkan daya saing perusahaan. Dalam penelitian ini akan dikaji mengenai pemilihan vendor untuk dua macam subkomponen untuk produk spare part motor yaitu bolt flange (Part Code 90105060270080) dan washer plain (Part Code 90201208140080) di PT. XYZ. Penyelesaian masalah seleksi vendor dalam penelitian ini dibantu dengan menggunakan metode gabungan ANP-TOPSIS. Setelah didapatkan vendor terpilih kemudian dilakukan perhitungan goal programming untuk pengalokasian order kepada vendor-vendor terpilih tersebut.  Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data dengan metode gabungan ANP-TOPSIS didapatkan perangkingan untuk vendor bolt flange secara berurutan adalah PT. GMS dengan nilai c* =0,91960, PT. DPM dengan nilai c* = 0,49236, PT. GIP dengan nilai c* = 0,43609, dan PT. GNP dengan nilai c* = 0,27989. Sedangkan untuk vendor washer plain secara berurutan adalah PT. NCS dengan nilai c* = 0,79556, PT. IDS dengan nilai c* = 0,37118, PT. PSM dengan nilai c* = 0,34377, dan PT. CKP dengan nilai c* = 0,12120. Dari perangkingan tersebut dipilih dua vendor dengan urutan dua teratas. Dengan demikian vendor yang terpilih untuk memasok bolt flange adalah PT. GMS dan PT. DPM, sedangkan untuk washer plain adalah PT. NCS dan PT. IDS. Penelitian dilanjutkan untuk menentukan alokasi order kepada masing-masing vendor dengan metode goal programming.

Abstract

Learning has been done using the learning cycle 5E model for material buffer and salt hydrolised solution in class XI-IPA MAN Model Singkawang academic year 2013/2014. The main purpose of this research is to increasing students learning activity and improvement of mathematic communication for chemistry that previously could not be done with the lecture method. Learning cycle 5E model has five steps: engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration/extention, and evaluation. The first step, engagement, teacher give some oral questions to stimulate students’s interest in learning proccess. The second step, exploration, students learn together in small groups to study and discuss the material given. The third step, explanation, students explain the concept with their own words and compare their opinion with the other. Next step, elaboration, in this step students applied the concept and skill they have learned to answer the questions. Last, evaluation, teacher evaluate the teaching learning process by giving assessment/post test. Learning cycle 5E model has been proven incresing students learning activity and improvement of mathematic communication for chemistry showed that there is significant improvement in the result of observation learning activity and communication mathematic test. This learning model also proven to help students to understand the subject matter, particularly for buffer and salt hydrolised solution, as demonstrated by the results of post-test and test formative (daily tests) where the majority of students get good value (above KKM set).
