Abstract

This  research  is  pleased  with  form  and  context  of  space  and  time  usage  deiksis found in Malay language in Tanjung Jabung Timur, Jambi province. Research data in the form of verbal spoken by native speakers is taken to listen and technique competence. The data obtained were processed with ekstralingual techniques. By applying these techniques gained 23 form deiksis space and 18 form deiksis time. Form deiksis space for stating the place, and deiksis to express gographikal spase. Deiksis form comprising a deikksis time now, deiksis past, and deiksis future.Keywords: deiksis of time and space, Malay Language

Abstract

This research purpose to give description about part  of “seloko” contained in the tradition of wedding ceremony Jambi society as a form of preservation of local cultural elements jambi especially for “seloko”.  The tradition of wedding ceremony Jambi society has eleven parts in implementation that is time to  introduction, “tegak batuik  duduk  bertanyo”,  “ulur  antar  serah  terima  adat  dan  lumbago”,  full  custom event, bribery sapat rice, “tunjuk ajar tegur sapo”, notice and pray. The  role  of  seloko  in  part  implementation  tradition   of  wedding  ceremony jambi  society namely as a media to express feel love in stages in the association teens “berusik sirih berguau pinang”, as a partner media choice in mate selection parts, as a communication media in the part of “tegak batuik duduk bertanyo”, “ulur antar pengantin (bride)”,  opening ceremonial lanse, as a media to give advice in part of “tunjuk ajar tegur sapo”, as apologize media, as information media and as media to say pray in part of notice.Keywords: implementation, “seloko”, tradition of wedding ceremony

Abstract

This  article  aim  to  explain  "language,  mind,  and  reality  is  unity  of  inseparable system".  For  the  purpose,  there  is  two  the  fundamental  elaborated  at  this  article, that is (1) reality and function of language and (2) the relation of mind, language, and  reality.  Description  firstly  include  (a)  linguistic  reality  and  (b)  function  of language.  Including  second  description  (a)  the  relation  of  mind,  language,  and reality and (b) clarity thinks and having language.Key Words: language, mind, reality

Abstract

This  article  emphasizes  the  application  of  constructivism  in  learning  Indonesian needs to be done with respect to the character of learning materials. It is believed that while language learning is practical learning, but the interests of the practice still requires  theoretical  matters,  the  concepts,  principles,  procedures,  criteria,  and value.  Theoretical  teaching  materials  requires  the  application  of  constructivism  is different. Abstract

This  article  describe  monstrates  research  findings  of  orientation  communityconversation of Malay Bajau Kuala Tungkal. The results showed that the orientation of  conversational  Malay  Bajau,  divided: 1)  orientation of the  conversation about themeaning of life  (Malay Bajau  say  that life is  predestined  and must  accept  whatever they are), 2)  the orientation of  a conversation about  the nature of  the work  (Malay Bajau  feel  proud to be  a  fisherman)  and 3)  the orientation of  a conversation aboutthe  nature  of  time  (Malay  Bajau  said  that  the  time  depending  on  the  fish),  4)  the orientation  of  the  nature  of  man  and  nature  conversation  (they  say  depend  with nature), and 5)  the orientation of  a conversation about  the nature of man  with man(they say to accept the Koperasi Unit Desa)Keywords: orientation community conversation, Malay Bajau

Abstract

This  article  is  the  result  of  an  analytical  study  on  the  aesthetic  value  of  poetry  of Batu Pelangi and Dua Pintu Kita. The analysis shows that a collection of poetry Batu Pelangi  and  Dua  Pintu  Kita    have  very  high  aesthetic  value.  The  poems  are  the result of  a creative  process  that  deserves to  be appreciated  among students  as a first step  to understand the  local  poetry  in order to improve  the learning  of poetry  orpoetry appreciation.Keywords:  the aesthetic value, poetry of Batu Pelangi and Dua Pintu Kita

Abstract

This article explains result “classroom research”  having approach qualitative.  Result of  its  is  description  "writing-learning  composition-ekspositif  process  to  base  on process  to  write  in  SMP  Bangsa"  and  "teacher  paradigm  about  execution  of  the writing-learning". Its process equal to process writes, that is prewriting,  draft writing, and revision. In each the step, teacher applies strategy and procedure which can streamline  writing-learning.  Based  on  the  confidence,  strategy  and  procedure applied by that can train student to think creative, selective, associative, schematic, and analytical.Keywords: writing-learning, composition-ekspositif, process writes, teacher paradigm

Abstract

Language is a certain place and circumstance where a language expanded used by the speech community. It consists of everything that can be heard and seen, then, it influences the process of language communication. Language environment can be divided into two categories: formal setting, which is formed by planning, and informal setting,  which  is  formed  naturally.  Formal  setting  has  important  role  in  second language  acquisition  process,  especially  in  the  sequence  of  second  language acquisition,  and  the  succes  acceleration  of  second  language  acquisition. Furthermore,  informal  setting  has  important  role  in  second  language  acquisition process, especially in the learner’s peer environment, parents, family, and foreign speaker environment.Key words: second language acquisition, language environment

Abstract

This paper discusses the pronominal usage in Jambi Malay. The pronouns are described in term of their  socio-semantics. The use of pronouns in Jambi Malay correlates to the interlocutors’ social attitudes and the ages of the speaker and the addressee. Thus, age plays an important role in deciding between pronoun forms. Pronouns in Jambi Malay neither show gender nor social status.Keywords: pronominal usage,Jambi Malay

Abstract

This article explains result of qualitative research "learning through playing at for in framework of ability expansion is having language child in TK  Islam  Al Azhar  Kota Jambi".  Result  of  the  research  is  description  of  the  learning  related  to  planning, execution,  and  evaluation.  Its  individuality  including  (a)  ability  expansion  scope  is having  language,  (b)  bases  on  area,  and  (c)  having  approach  tematic.  Linguistic expansion  covers  receives  language,  lays  open  language,  and  letter.  Learning  is executed in area "Preparation, Plays Role, Log, Nature Material, Imtag, and ArtisticCreativity”.  Theme exploited as unifier development scopes of chlid. The evaluation is  observation,  assignation,  activity  short  exchange,  anecdot  record-keeping, conversation, document, and description of chlid profile.Keywords: learning through playing, ability is having language child, area
