Abstract

Metacognition is the students’ ability in learning that includes about how learning should be done, so that it can determine what already known and not known yet. Metacognition has two components: metacognitive knowledge and metacognitive skills. Metacognitive knowledge relates to declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge, and conditional knowledge. Metacognitive skills relate to planning, monitoring, and evaluation towards the completion of a particular task. Metacognition has three stages: (1) planning about what, how, and when to learn it; (2) monitoring of learning process that being carried out; and (3) evaluating of what has been planned, done, and the results of that process. Metacognition of students in mathematics learning can be arisen at every stage of mathematical problem solving: understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back.

Abstract

Tuntutan sebagai calon guru yang profesional dibidangnya merupakan salah satu alasan perlunya dikembangkan buku Lectora Inspire ini. Dengan dikembangkannya buku Lectora Inspire (LI) ini pengetahuan dan keterampilan IT mahasiswa Tadris Matematika IAIN Tulungagung dapat meningkat. Buku Lectora Inspire dikembangkan melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu: 1) tahap pendefinisian, 2) tahap perancangan, 3) tahap pengembangan, dan 4) tahap pendeseminasian. Hasil pengembangan yang diperoleh adalah buku Lectora Inspire yang disusun dengan cara ditulis, bahasanya mudah untuk dipahami, menarik, penuh dengan gambar dan keterangan-keterangannya, serta isi buku menggambarkan sesuatu yang sesuai dengan ide penulisnya.

Abstract

Selection of appropriate learning strategies by teachers tailored to the subject matter, so that students can understand the subject clearly. Reciprocal Teaching is a learning strategy so that learning objectives are reached quickly through the process of independent learning. By presentation in front of a class, students are expected to achieve learning objectives and increase learning independence. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of Reciprocal Teaching towards mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students MI Nidhomiyah Jombang academic year 2018/2019. The calculation of the t-value uses SPSS 16. The result of t-value is 4,667 with sig (2 tailed)= 0,000. The data result showed that is rejected. The researchers concluded that there is influence Reciprocal Teaching towards mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

During teaching and learning process, the students tended to be passive and the class was dominated by the teacher. This situation made the students’ activity in learning became low as they just memorized the concepts instead of understood them. This research was aimed at improving students’ activity and ability in problem solving in Math through problem-based learning model.This was a classroom action research which was conducted in two cycles. The data of this research was collected through observation sheet and a test. The data gotten then was analyzed descriptively. The result of the research showed that the use of problem-based learning model could improve the first year students’ activity and ability of problem solving in Math at SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. Students’ activities in completing LKS, asking questions to the teachers and peers, answering questions from the teachers and peers, presenting the result of group discussion and drawing a conclusion had been in very good category. In problem solving, the percentage of the students who had gained the minimum standard of achievement (KKM) improved from 61,30% in the first cycle into 82,14% in the second cycle.

Abstract

Various research and facts on the field show that students' mathematics learning achievement in Indonesia has not been satisfactory. This is due to various factors, one of which is the method of learning and the ability of students. One of the cognitive abilities that play a role in the success of students in learning mathematics is the ability of mathematical connections. In addition, affective ability is also very important role, one of them ability self efficacy. Between the ability of mathematical connections and self efficacy is positively correlated which became one of the determinants of the success of learning mathematics students. This article intends to examine the effect of applying Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) model to the ability of mathematical connection and student self efficacy. The method of writing this article is a study of literature sourced from previous studies and related journals.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas XI IPS 5 SMA Negeri 12 Pekanbaru melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) pada semester genap tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPS 5 yang berjumlah 35 orang dengan kemampuan akademik yang heterogen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pengamatan dan tes hasil belajar matematika. Pengamatan dilakukan oleh satu orang guru matematika SMAN 12 dan satu orang dosen Pendidikan Matematika FKIP UNRI. Tes hasil belajar matematika dilakukan sebanyak dua kali di setiap akhir siklus. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar pengamatan aktifitas guru dan siswa serta soal tes hasil belajar matematika. Data aktifitas guru dan siswa dianalisis secara kualitatif dan data hasil belajar matematika dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktifitas guru dalam menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT sudah semakin sesuai dengan RPP dan mengalami peningkatan kualitas untuk setiap pertemuan. Demikian juga halnya dengan aktifitas siswa yang menunjukkan kemajuan untuk setiap pertemuan. Siswa sudah berani untuk maju ke depan kelas mempresentasikan hasil diskusi kelompoknya. Sejalan dengan peningkatan aktifitas guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran, hasil belajar matematika siswa juga meningkat. Persentase siswa yang mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) untuk siklus I dan II adalah 14,28%, naik 8,58% sebelum dilakukan tindakan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar matematika dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT.

Abstract

Computer technology can be utilized to create interactive learning media in the form of multimedia. Along with the development of technology need to make a computer-based learning media to help learners and teachers in learning, especially mathematics. In school, teachers use the material only from cardboard media and affixed to the blackboard, and even then not the students who hold it, so far the teacher taught mathematics only using textbooks and LKS, even though the teacher already has a computer or laptop and in the school already has facilities to support the use of media based computer that is one of them is LCD projector. One way that can be done is to create interactive learning media and interesting for learners. This study aims to develop a computer-based learning media that is valid to help students understand about functions. The research steps to be done is to analyze the syllabus, RPP and textbooks, collect the required images or animations, create paper based media designs, create media on powerpoints, create frontpage, and ask to validate by experts and practitioners. The program used for the design of computer-based products is a frontpage program, microsoft power point. Learning media validated by three experts or validators and then be revised according to validator’s advice. Learning media is packaged in the form of compact disk (CD) and user manual.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve the learning process and improved the student’s mathematic achievement through the implementation of problem based learning. The research was the classroom action research with two cycles. The research was conducted in student of class VII3 SMPN 4 Pekanbaru in odd semester of the 2018/2019 academic year with the subject is 38 students. The research instruments consist of learning devices and data collector instrument. Learning devices consists of the syllabus, lesson plan and student worksheet. The data collector instrument consists of the observation sheet and mathematics test. Technique of data analysis is analysis of narrative descriptive and analysis of statistical descriptive. The result of the research show that the learning process has improved and the student’s mathematic achievement has improved after applying the problem based learning model. The percentage of student who achieve minimal completeness criteria on first cycle was 68,42% and the second cycle was 78,94% which greater than the percentage of student who achieve minimal completeness criteria before implementation of problem based learning that only 44,73%. Therefore, the problem based learning can be used as an alternative in learning.

Abstract

The background of this research is the limited of learning device as a means of supporting learning referring to 2013 curriculum. This research aims to develop syllabus, Learning Implementation Plan (LIP) and Student Learning Worksheet (SLW) with experiential learning model on the subject of cubes and beams for 8th grade students of junior high school. The research used Research and Develomant (R&D) with the ADDIE procedure; analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Due to time constraints, this research is only done until the development stage. This research instrument used are sheet of learning device validation, questionnaire response of learnears, and evaluation of learning outcomes. Syllabus, LIP and SLW validated two times by three validators and revised according to the suggestion from the validator. The valid LIP was then limited tested with the subject of nine students of 8th grade in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. Based on the analysis result of the validation data, it can be concluded that syllabus and LIP are considered very valid and SLW is valid with average rating for syllabus is 3.44, LIP is 3.34 and SLW is 3.13. In the second validation, it can be concluded that the syllabus, LIP and SLW are considered very valid with the average rating for the syllabus is 3.75, for the LIP is 3.65 and for SLW is 3.47. Based on the analysis results of the questionnaire response of learners to SLW in the limited trial is 95.5% with very practical category and the average of the result of student’s evaluation is 84.8. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion concluded that the syllabus, LIP, and SLW with experiential learning model on the subject of cubes and beams for 8th grade students of Junior High School have fulfilled the validity and practical requirements to used by 8th grade students of Junior High School.

Abstract

Kurang baiknya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika (KPMM) merupakan hal yang sangat penting untuk diperhatikan. Karena kemampuan ini memegang peranan yang sangat menentukan dalam perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan matematika peserta didik melalui penerapan model problem based learning bagi peserta didik kelas XII MIPA 2 SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi perbaikan proses pembelajaran dan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan jumlah peserta didik pada kualifikasi sangat baik, yaitu sejumlah 27 orang dan pada kualifikasi baik sejumlah 9 orang, serta kualifikasi cukup sebanyak 3 orang dan tidak ada satu pun peserta didik pada kualifikasi kurang serta sangat kurang.
