Abstract

Background: Rheumatic disease is a chronic systemic inflammatory disease in the joints of the body, which has clinical symptoms in the form of joint pain disorders accompanied by stiffness, redness, and swelling and is chronic. One of the treatments to deal with pain is by stimulating heat on the part of the body that is experiencing pain, including by giving warm compresses and ginger compresses which can have a warm effect on the body. Objective: This study aims to identify differences in the effectiveness of warm compresses and ginger compresses on reducing pain scale in rheumatic patients. Methods: This study uses a quasi-experimental design method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique used is quota sampling. The number of samples studied were 40 respondents, who were divided into two treatment groups. The first group was given a warm compress treatment and the second group was given a ginger compress treatment. Results: The results of the study and analysis using the Independent T-Test statistical test with a significance degree of : 0.05. The results showed that the p-value was 0.024, so H0 was rejected. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there are differences in the effectiveness of warm compresses and ginger compresses on reducing pain scale in rheumatic patients where ginger compresses are more effective than warm compresses with an average difference of 1.25 pain scale.

Background: Toilet training is an exercise to control the discharge from the bladder so that the child is able to control the urination and defecation. The behavior of toilet training for each child is different depending on the characteristics of the child, the influence of the family environment, and the guidance from parents that is applied to the child. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the intensity of parental guidance and toilet training behavior for children aged 2-4 years. Methods: Using this type of cross-sectional research. The research subjects are all parents who have children aged 2-4 years. The sample in this study were 30 parents. The analytical method used is Chi Square. Results: The results of this study indicate that 6 (50%) respondents who did toilet training with insufficient guidance and 16 (88.9%) respondents who did not do toilet training but had good guidance. Based on the data analysis, a significant P value was obtained, namely 0.018 where P-value <0.05.Conclusion: There is a relationship between the intensity of parental guidance and toilet training behavior for children aged 2-4 years in Heledulaa Utara Village, Kota Timur District, Gorontalo City.

Abstract

Background: Stress is a part of everyday human life and is a normal symptom in humans. Benson relaxation is the development of a relaxation response method by involving the patient's belief factor, which can create an internal environment so that it can help patients achieve higher health and well-being.Objective: This study aims to determine Benson relaxation on reducing stress levels in the elderly. Methods: The study used a Quasi Experimental design with a Static Group Comparsion research approach. The sample consisted of 16 elderly people. The sampling technique used paired numerical analysis method. Results: Based on the results of the study, it was obtained that the elderly in the treatment group at the time of the pretest had an average stress level of 39.75 with a standard deviation of 4.062. After using the Beson relaxation technique, the average stress level decreased to 27.38 with a standard deviation of 3.523. In the elderly in the control group at the time of the pretest the average stress level was 42.50 with a standard deviation of 2.330. At the time of re-measurement of the average stress level for the same 8 people, the stress level actually increased to 43.38 with a standard deviation of 2.615. In the treatment group, the value of T count = 11.240 and the value of = 0.000. In the control group, the value of T count = -1,000 and the value of = 0.181.Conclusion: There is a significant effect of Benson's relaxation technique on reducing stress levels in the elderly.

Background: Discharge planning or discharge planning is a process of starting the client from getting health services followed by continuity of care both in the healing process and in improving health status until the patient feels ready to return to his environment. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of discharge planning on the client's readiness to face discharge with diabetic ulcers in the operating room of Toto Kabila Hospital, Bone Bolango Regency.Method: The design in this research is pre-experiment with 20 people taking purposive samplingResults: The results showed that after discharge planning the client's readiness level increased as many as 15 people (75%) with a readiness level of 4, and as many as 5 people (25%) with a readiness level 3. Based on the SPSS analysis test using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, it was obtained P value = 0.000 so p value < 0.05. Then the results obtained Ha or H1 is accepted. Conclusion: These results indicate that there is a significant effect of discharge planning on the client's readiness to face discharge with diabetic ulcers in the operating room of the Toto Kabila Hospital, Bone Bolango Regency.
