Abstract

Linguistic Stereotype is an image that closely related to certain speakers of certain style of speaking, language and dialects or accents. This type of stereotype usualy derived from the image where the language or accents came from. In Japanese fictions and stories such as anime and manga, the fictional characters often depicted as possessing characteristics and habits suitable to the stereotypes their speaking style and dialects cary. This article is written to describes and analyze the example of said phenomenon, in which Osakan dialect fictional speakers are often depicted with unique characteristics in accordance with the dialect they spoke with. This gaves an iamge to non-native readers that the majority of Osakan people in real world Japan are really act and be the way they are depicted in the fiction.

Abstract

Currently, the interest in learning Japanese among teenagers or high school students is increasing, especially in Indonesia. Interest in learning Japanese in adolescents can be influenced by several factors such as themselves, friends, environment, or hobbies, and other factors. All of these factors are grouped into two types of factors, namely internal factors, and external factors. Internal factors can be in the form of aspirations, hobbies, and habits, while external factors can be the environment, parents, friends, and even teachers at school. Based on this, the question arises about what factors influence the interest of adolescents in Indonesia to learn Japanese. And to get the answer, a survey was conducted to Japanese students at 16 Bandung Public High School in August 2019. The survey was carried out by distributing a questionnaire in the form of a google form containing several questions about the supporting factors of interest in learning Japanese to high school students.

Abstract

As times progressed, communication and information became rapidly evolving. One of the media used is a mobile phone. Nowadays, especially on vacation abroad, we can't get off the phone. Therefore, a SIM card is created for overseas. At this time, a large number of people who need internet facilities abroad. One of the travel agents opened a special brand SIM Card, to meet the needs of its customers. This makes traveling more practical. In this Final Task report, the author discusses "Japan SIM Card Sales at PT. Adventure Travel Group". In the technique of drafting reports, the authors use descriptive methods that describe actual, factual, and systematic arrangements. The authors also conduct live observations in the field, collect company data, and discussions with company staff related to the report. From the results of fieldwork practices, the authors concluded that the providers that became mainstays are Softbank and Docomo. The process of resale of Japanese SIM Card requires thoroughness and good cooperation between staff, ranging from equipment preparation until product resale on the sales site. Advantages of purchasing Japanese SIM Card at PT. Adventure Travel Group is Auto Active and usea the best providers. The disadvantages of buying Japanese SIM card in Japan is impractical, more expensive, and troublesome.

Abstract

Newsletters are the latest media publications that contain important product information and are starting to be used as an appropriate marketing strategy in business. One company that uses newsletters as a promotional media is JIN (Japan Indonesia Network). This study aims to determine the types of newsletters used by JIN as promotional media and also to explain the advantages and disadvantages of the newsletters used by JIN as a promotional media. The research data used in this research are newsletters that have been published by JIN periodically. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The type of newsletter that JIN uses as a promotional media is the customers newsletter. In addition, the advantage of using newsletters as a promotional media is that it is practical in informing a product to customers, while the disadvantage is that the newsletter display used by JIN is still considered less attractive by customers.

Abstract

This research is focused on collaborative learning between sakubun (writing) and kaiwa (speaking) subjects. In the subjects of sakubun and kaiwa, the teacher must look for the right teaching method or technique so that the teaching and learning process is not monotonous and boring for learners. In sakubun courses, the teacher must have thoroughness in terms of examining the results of student writing and having insight into vocabulary and culture. Whereas in speaking courses (kaiwa), the teacher must have creativity in preparing the teaching material and techniques because of the teaching that all learners are required to actively speak. The ultimate goal of teaching Japanese is so that learners are able to communicate their ideas or ideas using Japanese both verbally and in writing. The methods and techniques used in learning are thematic methods with the technique of teaching project work. The purpose of this study is to provide a renewal in the teaching pattern of the sacred and kaiwa so that it can improve the effectiveness of teaching and the ability of students in writing and speaking is expected to increase. Collaborating writing (sakubun) and speaking (kaiwa) courses is one of the treatments carried out by the author to create a learning environment that is not boring. From the results of data processing, it can be concluded that collaboration between teaching writing and teachingspeaks using project work techniques is quite effective to improve student achievement. in addition to teaching using project work techniques, learners also get a pleasant learning experience.

Abstract

The object of this thesis was phatic communication. The purpose of this study was aimed to know and reveal the shapes and fuction of the phatic utterance in communication that japanese is super phatic type of society. This thesis  was using  Nabuhiro Doi‘s Flying Colors as data source. This study was using descriptive qualitative as the method of analysis, and using documentation technique, notes and listening technique to  collect the data. Speech and SPEAKING are useful for knowing the utterance about whom, norms, purpose, etc in the communication. This thesis found that phatic utterance has seven shapes which are praise utterance, grateful utterance, appologize utterance, greeting utterance, encourage utterance, and small talk  utterance. This  thesis also  has  three  utterance function which are,  to  open communication, to break the silence and to close the communication.

Abstract

In daily social life, humans cannot be separated with interaction with nature, and it includes giving and receiving. In Japanese society, a gift is always depicted as On or debt which must be repaid in later time. One way to pay On  is through the phrase arigatou.  This research objective is to describe Arigatou phrase based on the meaning and forms of expression inside Japanese society daily life. Methods used in this research is Descriptive Methods which utilizes symbolic interaction theory to analyze the data. Result found is that arigatou was originally addressed to God and gradually used in daily life. From meaning perspective arigatou described as gratitude and social harmony keeper and was addressed to the Emperor as expression of loyalty towards the country with full consent on abiding the law. Meanwhile the phrase arigatou in family is meant to express obedience towards every decision made by the family to maintain honor within said family. Arigatou phrase towards nature is to include them in every element of life. Found conclusion is that Arigatou phrase included Up-Down essence, which means the relation between Kami (God) (Up) and Humans (Down), described arigatou in both form of phrase and meaning.

Abstract

The difference between Japanese and Indonesian is quite diverse, one of which is about 'mo' and 'juga‘. 'Mo' includes affirmation particles in Japanese and 'juga‘ includes adverbs in Indonesian. This study aims to compare the two linguistic elements by looking for similarities and differences. The Japanese theory used is the theory of the structure and meaning of the affirmation particle 'mo', while the Indonesian theory used is the theory of structure and the meaning of adverbs 'juga'. The results obtained from this study are 'mo' and 'juga' used in the form of equalization adding an element into other similar elements, can be attached to the class of nouns, noun phrases, verbs, and adjectives. The difference is that 'mo' is after the element it adds, while 'juga' is more flexible in position can be before or after the element it adds.

Abstract

The increasing interest in working or continuing to studi in Japan requires Japanese language skills at least JLPT N4. Thus the authors are interested in examining whether intensive study for 3 months is effective enough to achieve JLPT N4. PT OHM Studi Jepang is a consulting and document management service company for work and school in Japan, by facilitating intensive classes to help participants pass JLPT N4. This study descusses the effectiveness of the learning method applied in accelerated intensive class N5-N4 to 18 students who are the subject of research by the author. The data obtained is the value of several test and the results of interviews with respondents which were processed using quantitative descriptive methods to produce two conclusions which are, how effective is the learning method in the N5-N4 OHM accelerated intensive class, and what needs to be addressed to increase the effectiveness of learning in the accelerated intensive class N5-N4 OHM. This research and the results will hopefully be useful to broaden the readers knowledge about effective Japanese teaching methods

Abstract

Genshin Impact is a video game developed by miHoYo, a Shanghai based video game developer and animation studio. Launched globally as an online Action Role Playing Game at September 28th 2020, Genshin Impact, or just Genshin in Japanese, came with voiceover dialogues in its cinematic dubbed in 4 different language, which is Chinese, English, Korean and Japanese. Genshin‘s user interface and dialogue subtitles also came translated into many other languages including simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese. Translating the texts and dialogues into multiple languages, albeit still carry the main idea of the story and game concept, occasionally causing different nuances and meanings among different language. For example, the personality and characteristics of the game‘s fictional characters sometimes are being depicted differently in each language. This article is written in with the aim of presenting some examples and analysis concerning those differences in each language translation.
