Abstract

The progress of the times is marked by technological sophistication. As proof of technological sophistication is the presence of social media that makes it easy and comfortable. One of the popular social media used by prioritizing visual content is Instagram. The use of Instagram social media for Santy Sastra Public Speaking teenagers is an interesting thing to research because teenagers actively display the self-image they want through Instagram social media. This study focuses on discussing the advantages of Instagram social media, strategies, and the effects of Instagram social media in shaping adolescent self-image in Santy Sastra Public Speaking. The theories used in this research are: 1) Uses and Gratification Theory, 2) Agenda Setting Theory, and 3) The Dependency Theory of Mass Communication Effects. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Collecting data in this study through observation, interviews, questionnaires and literature study. The results of this study indicate 1) Instagram social media is massive and popular, Instagram social media has complete features that can meet the needs of teenagers in forming their self-image as public speakers, 2) the strategies used include consistency of appearance on Instagram social media, selective in uploading, and prioritizing content. 3) the effect of using Instagram social media in shaping adolescent self-image in Santy Sastra Public Speaking, including cognitive effects in the form of expanding confidence in self-image and strengthening personal identity, affective effects in the form of giving a positive impression and releasing tension, behavioral effects in the form of being wise in displaying content and temporarily close the account if it affects emotionally.

Abstract

Idup Panak woven textil is one of the traditional textil in the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village. Idup Panak textil as a work of weaving art has its own uniqueness compared to other gringsing fabrics because it is made using leftover threads from other ready-made motifs. Idup Panak textil are starting to increase in existence and the quantity of sales is getting bigger. Of course, it is necessary to strengthen the principles of meaning and value in maintaining the quality of the textile, of course, in order to avoid a decline in cultural understanding. Departing from the problems above, this study aims to strengthen the construction of values ​​and principles contained in the Idup Panak textile. The method used is a qualitative research method using interview techniques, observation and literature in data collection. This study uses symbol theory which will assist in analyzing the symbols contained in the Idup Panak Textil and the Communication Strategy Theory which functions in the development of the Idup Panak Textil so that all forms of principle values ​​contained in the Idup Panak Textil are preserved. The results show that action has begun. duplication of Idup Panak Textil in order to meet consumer demand, this has resulted in craftsmen starting to experience social blindness which only prioritizes quantity and puts aside the meaning of value, it is very necessary to educate and supervise to face increasingly advanced developments bringing this tradition in a positive direction with meaning values ​​that are still maintained .

Abstract

Communication in this study is defined as a meeting between several religious cultures in an area, both communication that takes place in one direction and two-way communication that depend on each other. This communication later forms a formula, a pattern that is carried out by the community in responding to the various cultures that are carried out by each of them. The application of this multicultural concept can be taken as an example to the Hindu community in Sinduwati Village, Sidemen District, Karangasem Regency, which can impact multiculturalism in real life, in its concrete form, namely the existence of cultural communication between the Hindu community and the Muslim community in the village. This can be seen from the way they parallel and respect other teachings openly. This research was conducted in Sinduwati Village, which is located in Sidemen District, Karangasem Regency. His writing is limited to Intercultural Communication of Hindu-Muslim Community in Maintaining Religious Harmony. This study used a qualitative-descriptive type of research. Descriptive research is generally carried out with the main objective of systematically describing the facts and characteristics of the object or subject being studied appropriately. Data were analyzed by carrying out a series of activities, namely data reduction, presenting, and drawing conclusions. The three steps, both reduction, presentation and conclusion are steps that are integrally interrelated as an analysis circle so that finally the analyzed data can be presented as a research report. Hindu-Muslim Cultural Communication in Sinduwati Village, related to every religious believer should fully believe and fully trust the truth of the religion he embraces. Religion is able to act as a tool to build solidarity as well as high loyalty for its adherents. Plurality is something that cannot be denied or avoided anywhere and by anyone. The number of Muslim population in Sinduwati Village is relatively small (minority) but the people of Sinduwati Village have never carried out activities that deserve to be said to injure inter-religious harmony between Hindus and Muslims that has existed for a long time. The ancestors of the Hindus in the village of Sinduwati believed that this difference was a gift from God, considered as one of the manifestations of the teachings of God in their respective religions. Abstract

Transcendental communication is an interaction that is not real or real but has high spiritual power, such as the wayang klupak trying tradition, which is a spiritual activity that uses symbolic interactions to carry out transcendental communication. In this study, the problem raised in the ritual process of transcendental communication which has a microcosmic function or effect and also has a macrocosmic effect that is realized by continuing to carry out cultural traditions.This research is qualitative research, the data obtained included the form of sentences and descriptions. The theory used in this research is ritual communication theory, structural-functional theory, and transcendental communication theory. The data of this research are sourced from primary data and secondary data. The technique of determining informants used the snowball technique, data collection using interview techniques, and literature study. Data analysis techniques consist of data reduction, data presentation stage, and conclusion drawing stage. The novelty of this research includes the following: 1) the characters of Wayang Malen and Wayang Merdah are the main symbols in the ngulapin ritual of worshiping the motherland, to communicate transcendentally in order to be in harmony with nature. 2) mantra or sesontengan is a transcendental communication power for connecting in order to achieve physical and spiritual health in order to achieve the concept of tri hita karana. Even though technology has now mastered the world, the ancient cultural traditions of wayang klupak tiying in Batubulan village are still carried out by the local community because it is strongly believed that this noble cultural tradition has had a positive effect, and has also been proven to provide health and healing to local communities who continue to uphold the high tradition of this culture.

Abstract

Religion needs a strategy. This became a challenge for the Balinese Society in particular to understand the teachings of Hinduism. So as to achieve this, Hinduism lays out three basic frameworks, (Tatwa / Philosophy, Ethics/susila, and Ceremonies/rituals) which one with the other fills and is a unanimous unity to live and be silent in order to achieve religious goals called Jagadhita and Moksa. Spiritual water in Hinduism one of them is dharma discourse. In doing dharma discourse in the mass media such as in LPP TVRI Bali through the Hindu spiritual splash program needs to do a strategy, method, and technique to attract people to be more interested in watching the show of Hindu spiritual shingles. There is 3 issues on this topic, that is: (1). How to choose the topic for Siraman Rohani Hindu program on LPP TVRI Bali for the community. (2). How the broadcasting communication strategy for Siraman Rohani Hindu on LPP TVRI Bali. (3). What is the impact of Siraman Rohani Hindu on LPP TVRI Bali to the community. The theory that is used is Agenda Setting Theory and Dependency Effect Mass Communication theory. Data collection techniques are done by observation, interview, and documentation. Data providing technique using qualitative descriptive. This study found including the option of topic for the program, it is needed to plan and prepare competent source person and announcer in their field and deliver topics using appropriate methods and techniques. Communication broadcasting strategy is used to attract an audience by applying broadcasting strategy using sociodrama, promotion strategy through social media, and persuasive communication strategy. Evaluation in applying strategies such as evaluation of the on-air process, evaluation of resource persons, and evaluation of the production. The impact of Siraman Rohani Hindu program on society is as there is a Cognitive impact, affective impact, and behavioral impact.

Abstract

Sexuality is a component of an individual's personal identity that is inseparable and develops and matures throughout an individual's life. Sexuality is not the same as sex. Sexuality is the interaction of biological factors, personal psychology, and the environment. Biological function refers to an individual's ability to give and receive pleasure and to reproduce. Psychological sexual identity and self-concept refer to an individual's inner understanding of sexuality such as self-image, identification as male or female, and learning of masculine or feminine roles. In writing this article, the method used is literature study by entering keywords on google.scholar.com and various other literature to support the references of this article. In addition, several articles and/or books related to this theme also support the completion of this article. Hindu cosmology is the concept of the creation of the universe and its contents, no less important in the concept of cosmology is sexuality and spirituality which are important and integrated dimensions, where through human sexuality, individuals can experience a direct erotic relationship with God and perform a new creation and continuously evolved to give birth to new genes/generations.

Abstract

The development of communication technology in the digital age has shifted the role of conventional media. Social media plays a role in the dissemination of information to the wider community in all fields, one of which is in the field of politics. The choice of using social media to build a strong political communication network is natural in an effort to gain support. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting research related to the role of social media as a means of political information. Based on the background above, the research problem that can be formulated is: How is the role of social media as a means of political information. The purpose of this study is to elaborate and provide an overview of the role of social media as a means of political information. The survey was conducted for 24 hours on April 18-19, 2022 using the Google Form application that managed to collect data from 140 community respondents domiciled in Denpasar City. Data analysis is done descriptively by and looking at the percentage / proportion of respondents who answered on the choice of answers on the questionnaire. The study found that 92 respondents (65.7%) agreed that social media plays a role in helping to get political information. This was supported by 113 respondents (80.7%) who used the internet / social media in seeking political-related information. Of these, 83 respondents (59.3%) said they often access political information on social media. Fifty-eight (41.4%) chose Instagram for political information. More widely accessed political information is information on political issues (103 respondents (73.6%)). But 99 respondents (70.7%) said political information on social media was hesitant to be believed. So many as 67 people (47.9%) respondents said they were rarely provoked by political news on social media. Keywords: The Role of Media, Social Media and Political Information.

Abstract

Barong Brutuk is an ancient sacred art that our ancestors passed down way before Hinduism was introduced to Indonesia. It is still practiced and observed today by the people of Trunyan Village in Kintamani Bangli. This research is conducted in order to know (1) the symbols that used in Barong Brutuk, (2) the communication function of Barong Brutuk, (3) the meaning of communication semiotic from sender to the receiver of message. This research is a qualitative research, that using the theory of communication semiotic, theory of religious communication, and theory symbolic interaction. Analytical techniques with hermeneutic analysis. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it came to our conclusion that the symbols used in Barong Brutuk in Trunyan Village consist of mask (tapel), kraras leaves, and whip. The mask symbolizes the meeting of the god Trunyan with his future consort, it is interpreted as the meeting of man and women led to believe to be the start of human life. The kraras leaves symbolizes the soil fertility, protecting the environment and the prevention of natural disasters. The belief of self-sacrifice as a means of healing disease, the hope of obtaining offspring is symbolized by the whip. Barong Brutuk has many purposes and uses such as communication, as a means of pleasure, and entertainment for the community, it also reflects on the Trunyan Villages identity as an integrative tool. It’s a method of healing, education and integration during a time of chaos.

Abstract

The communication strategy is planning and management to achieve one goal. Class IIA Denpasar Prison which plays a major role in conducting a coaching pattern that is closely related to the communication strategy for Correctional Assistants (WBP) is part of Child Guidance Correctional Education (Binadik) and the Work Activities Section. This research is a qualitative method in which the sample is taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The total number of informants was 10 people and the data were collected from field observations, documentation, and in-depth interviews. To reinforce, there are several concepts that will be explained in advance, including Communication Strategy, Development Model, Correctional Assistance (WBP), Sraddha and Bhakti, and Lapas. The results showed that the pattern of coaching at Class IIA Denpasar Prison applies a top down approach, namely by providing personality development including religious awareness development, legal awareness development, intellectual development, physical and spiritual health development, and a bottom up approach) for self-reliance development which includes work skills, where these work skills hone the soft skills possessed by WBP who are carried out in the center, and are still under the supervision of security officers in prisons.

Abstract

Technological developments bring about major changes to communication patterns, including in the world of education. Compared to before, now students consisting of generation Z are more interested in delivering dynamic materials that can be accessed from anywhere. Responding to these challenges, the Hindu-based Dwijendra Denpasar High School (SMA) seeks to optimize the distribution of religious messages through the use of communication media. This study aims to analyze how far the communication media can play a role in improving students' sraddha bhakti. Researchers used three theories, namely Agenda Setting, Mathematical Communication, and Constructivism. This type of research is qualitative descriptive with a sociological approach. The research subjects were the school as communicators and students as communicants. Methods of data collection through participatory observation, structured interviews, document studies, literature studies, and online searches. The results showed that communication media consisting of Dwijendra Community Radio, audio-visual media, and Learning Management System (LMS) had an important role in the distribution of information related to sraddha bhakti. The media has advantages in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, concrete, and motivation. Barriers that arise in the role of communication media consist of technical barriers which include facilities and infrastructure, semantic barriers that include message content, and human barriers that arise from communication actors. The strategies applied by the school to improve the role of communication media include mapping problems, taking action on obstacles that occur, and optimizing the role of communication media using redundancy, canalizing, informative, educational, coercive, and persuasive methods. The evaluation shows that the role of communication media has positive implications for increasing students' knowledge, skills, and attitudes of Sraddha Bhakti.
