Audio visual. Video advertisements are often found on television and online media such as social media such as Instagram and YouTube platforms. Luscious Natural is a brand from Bandung that is engaged in the field of beauty and health. Luscious Natural produces goods in the form of soap bars and liquid for the face and body made from natural ingredients as the name suggests, which has a unique form of soap products, one example being a soap bar in the form of cakes and food. Apart from the shape, this brand also offers soap with a variety of colors and themes that are unique and look artsy visually that can be ordered specifically or custom. In dissecting this advertisement, the researcher uses qualitative research methods and uses the Applied Media Aesthetics approach proposed by Herbert Zettl to dissect the aesthetic and semiotic values contained in the advertisement on a scene-by-scene basis. It is hoped that with the results of this analysis, researchers and spectators can find and know values that are deeper in meaning and not only in terms of the context of their visual beauty.

Abstract

Da'wah activities have also grown rapidly in the world of film, including the Film Ajari Aku Islam which looks at the attitudes and actions that non-Muslim men and Muslim women must take when they fall in love. In this film, there are many lessons about young people who never give up on learning Islam. Although, it begins with falling in love with his human being and then in love with his religion. Currently, this phenomenon often occurs today, how the journey of love between different religions makes them blocked by blessing. Then, they chose to change their religion which made their lives further away from their previous religion. Based on this phenomenon, further studies are needed regarding this problem by examining the da'wah messages contained in the film Ajari Aku Islam. The process of understanding the message of da'wah uses the semiotic analysis of Charles Sanders Pierce. The purpose of this study was to determine the message of da'wah in the film Ajari Aku Islam based on Charles Sanders Peirce's analysis. Based on the object, namely the icon, index, symbol. The type of research used is qualitative with descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that the film Ajari Aku Islam which has a duration of 93 minutes contains da'wah messages, namely about religion, morality, help, forbidden to come into contact with non-mahrams, iqra as a tool for learning the Koran, advice and converts. Thus, this film can also be an example for those who are in love with different religions.

Abstract

Film in a narrow sense is the presentation of images through a wide screen, but in a broader sense it can also include those broadcast on TV. Film is one of the mass media in the form of audio-visual and its nature is very complex. The film becomes a social discourse with unique characteristics that spread to various places, and the psychoanalytic perspective of film to influence the way of thinking related to perception and value suitability in which the information is communicated. Films in general also raise a theme or phenomenon that occurs in the midst of society. One of them is the film "Nanti Kita Cerita Hari Ini" (NKCTHI) directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko. The film Later We Tell Today (NKCTHI) is the 13th film directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko which was adapted from the book of the same name by Marchella FP. Unlike other film adaptations, NKCTHI's book only contains quotable words. The touching messages in this book are then turned into a scenario in the form of a complete story. In this study used qualitative research methods using the method of Content Analysis or content analysis. The main instrument in this study is the researcher himself who conducts direct research such as watching, listening and understanding the film "Nanti Kita cerita Hari Ini" (NKCTI), using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory, which focuses on the idea of two orders of signification. ). There are three aspects that show that in the film "Nanti Kita Cerita Hari Ini (NKCTHI)" it does not only have a general meaning but also has a denotative meaning, connotative meaning and myth.

Abstract

The film “Barakati” is a historical and adventure genre film that combines cultural elements from Buton Island and Yogyakarta. This film tells the story of an expedition involving a young archaeologist, a foreign journalist, a woman from Buton, and also someone who is a descendant of the Majapahit Kingdom. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method. Qualitative research methods are descriptive and analytical methods. In this study, a description of the results of observing the plot of this film was carried out which was then analyzed against the cultural values contained in the film "Barakati". The analysis is in the form of a culture that seems to be still thick with the region, whether it is in the culture on the island of Buton or in Yogyakarta. In this study, the analysis used to describe cultural values in the film "Barakati" is Charles Sanders Peirce's Semiotic Analysis. Charles Sanders Peirce divides signs into 3, namely: icons, indexes and symbols. The results obtained in this study show the cultural values contained in this film. These cultural values are historical objects whose existence is still maintained today. The existence of these historical objects has the meaning and characteristics of each depending on its function. Cultural values related to these historic objects must also be preserved because they are cultural assets as a marker or cultural identity of a nation.

Abstract

Racism, prejudice and discrimination are complex things that occur in this world, according to Baldwin (2017) this is a broad social phenomenon and a field for research, complicated by the fact that intolerance exists in internal cognition but manifests in the use of symbols (verbal, nonverbal). , mediation), law and policy, and social and organizational practice. It is based on group identification (ie, understanding and treating a person or persons in terms of outgroup membership); but those outgroups can range from better-known outgroups based on race, gender/gender, nationality, or sexual orientation to more specific intolerance of others based on political party, fan status, or membership in some groups perceived as "blonde". " or "athlete." This article begins with the relationship of culture to prejudice, paying attention to certain culture-based prejudices about ethnocentrism and xenophobia. It then explores the degree to which prejudice might manifest, finally arriving at the specific focus of prejudice—racism; however, what applies to racism may also apply to other intolerances such as sexism, heterosexism, classicism, or ageism. This article considers that the issue of racism can occur because of the motivation that causes this to use Charles Peirce's semiotic theory.

Abstract

As an Indonesian citizen, there must be norms that must be considered in daily activities as social beings. Norms act as values of decency that are embraced by the whole society. In addition, the community also has their respective social roles in a group. Many short films picture the reality of people's lives, one of which is the film 'KTP'. Based on this, the author wants to describe the norms and social roles contained in the film 'KTP'. The author uses a qualitative descriptive method by focusing on the analysis of Charles Sanders Peirce, namely by paying attention to the icon (icon), index (index), and symbol (symbol). The observations obtained are that in the 15 minutes 33-second KTP film, there are norms and social roles that are conveyed, including greetings, procedures for visiting and receiving guests, deliberation to reach consensus, as well as an overview of the social roles prevailing in society. This film clearly shows a portrait of the reality of the social life of the Indonesian people through a dynamic approach.
