Abstract

This research aimed to determine the relationship of social support and commitment to the task with the academic flow of the FSRD UNS students. Research uses quantitative research methods through surveys on 300 FSRD students. The samples in this study were 271 FSRD UNS students. Sampling in this study using a proportional random sampling cluster technique i.e. the determination of sample members is carried out randomly by voting the class of each department. The data collection techniques used are psychological scales. The results showed that Fcount value is 42.303 (Fcount> Fttable 3.026) with sig. 0,000 (p <0.05) and the R value is 0.471, which means the correlation is on moderate level. The R square value is 0.222 indicating the effective contribution is 22.16%, with effective contribution of social support is 2.8% and task commitment is 19.36%. The conclusion is that there has positive correlation between social support and task commitment with academic flow.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between authoritarian parenting style, emotional intelligence, and cyber aggression in undergraduate students in a private university in Central Java. There were three hypotheses tested in the study, including 1) the major hypothesis: there is a relationship between authoritarian parenting style, emotional intelligence and cyber aggression; 2) the first minor hypothesis: there is a positive relationship between authoritarian parenting style and cyber aggression; and 3) the second minor hypothesis: there is a negative relationship between authoritarian parenting style and cyber aggression.  This was a quantitative correlational study conducted on 105 research subjects. The data were collected using the authoritarian parenting style scale, the emotional intelligence scale and the cyber aggression scale. The results of hypothesis testing showed that there is a relationship between authoritarian parenting style, emotional intelligence and cyber aggression (R=0.476; p<0.01).  The results of the first minor hypothesis testing found a positive relationship between authoritarian parenting style and cyber aggression (rxy=0.386; p<0.05). The results of the second minor hypothesis testing found a negative relationship between emotional intelligence and cyber aggression (rxy=-0.402; p<0.05). The statistical test results showed that the three hypotheses were accepted. This study is hoped to encourage university administrators to consider the procurement of a program aiming to reduce students’ cyber-aggression behavior.

This study aims to determine the relationship between student self efficacy and perceptions of parents' expectations with decision making in determining the college majors. The research sampling used cluster random sampling of 147 students from 5 classes. The research instrument used the scale of decision making to determine the majors (r = 0.868), student self efficacy scale (r = 0.858), and the scale of perceptions of parents' expectations (r = 0.888). The data analysis technique of this study used multiple linear regression. Based on multiple linear regression test, the value of Fcount = 39.116> Ftable = 3.06 (p = 0.000 <0.05) with a value of R = 0.593. The total contribution of student self efficacy and perceptions of parents' expectations for decision making determines the course major of 0.352. Based on the partial test, it showed that there are a relationship between student self-efficacy and decision making in determining the majors (p = 0.43 <0.05 rx1y = 0.140) and there are a relationship between perceptions of parents' expectations and decision making in determining the majors (p = 0,000 <0,05; rx2y = 0,549). This study concluded that there are a significant positive relationship between student self efficacy and perceptions of parents' expectations with decision making in determining the college majors in high school students.
