Abstract

This research focused on examining the relationship between self-esteem and job insecurity in outsourcing employees. The hypothesis of this research was the existence of a negative and significant relationship between self-esteem and job insecurity. There were 211 participants in this study, who were outsourcing employees. Data was collected by using Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES, α = 0.745) and Job Insecurity Scale (JIS, α = 0.723). Technique that was used to analyse the data was Spearman's rho correlation technique because the data was not normal. The results showed that there were a negative and significant relationship between self-esteem and job insecurity (r = -0,246; p = 0,000), positive self-esteem and job insecurity (r = -0,237; p = 0,000), negative self-esteem and job insecurity (r = -0,169; p = 0,007). The higher the self-esteem, the lower the job insecurity of outsourcing employees. Keywords: Self-Esteem, Job Insecurity, Outsourcing Employees

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the relationship between perfectionism and stress of completing a thesis on students. The participants in this study were 179 undergraduate students completing a thesis. The hypotheses proposed that 1) there is a positive relationship between Self-Oriented Perfectionism (SOP) and stress of completing a thesis, 2) there is a positive relationship between Other-oriented Perfectionism (OOP) and stress of completing a thesis, 3) there is a positive relationship between Socially-prescribed Perfectionism (SPP) and stress of completing a thesis, and 4) there is a relationship between perfectionism and stress of completing a thesis. This study used quantitative methods. The data were collected using Skala Stress Mengerjakan Skripsi (α = 0,926) and a scale modified from Hewitt and Flett (1991)’s Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (αstrat= 0.888).  This study used nonparametric analysis Spearman's Rho to analyze hypothesis 1), and parametric analysis Pearson's Product Moment to analyze hypothesis 2), 3), 4). The results showed that 1) there was no relationship between self-oriented perfectionism (SOP) and  stress of completing a thesis (rs = 0.094; p = 0.106 0.05), 2) there was a positive relationship between other-oriented perfectionism (OOP) and  stress of completing a thesis (r = 0.247; p = 0.000 0.05), 3) there was positive relationship between socially-prescribed perfectionism (SPP) and stress of completing a thesis (r = 0.408; p = 0.000 0.05), and 4) there was the relationship between perfectionism and the stress of completing a thesis (r = 0.329; p = 0.000). Keywords: perfectionism, stress, academic stress, stress of completing a thesis, students

Abstract

This study aims to describe the adjustment of Javanese students living in the Greater Jakarta area. Respondents were students of class X and XI Javanese high school in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Bekasi totaling 135 students. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling. The research data was obtained using the Adjustment Scale with a reliability coefficient of Cronbach alpha of 0.751. The data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive analysis based on the percentage of gender, grade level, and aspects of adjustment. The results of the study based on hypothetical data showed that Javanese students had moderate and high levels of adjustment. There is no adjustment of students who are in the low category. This shows that if generalized, Javanese students have good self-adjustment. Based on empirical data, more Javanese students have self-adjustment in the low category than in the high category, which is 26.67%. Based on gender, male students' adjustment was more in the high category than in the low category; while the adjustment of female students was in the low category compared to the high category. Based on class groups, it shows that there are still many class X and class XI who have self-adjustment in the low category. Based on the aspect of adjustment, it shows that from all aspects of adjustment, more students are in the low category than high. Aspects of individual ability in overcoming anxiety and stress are dominated in the low category, namely 51.85%. Keywords: adjustment, students, Javanese

Abstract

This study aims to describe job stress caused by multiple roles and the relationship between work-family conflict and work-family balance in working Balinese mothers. The independent variable in this study is work-family conflict, while the dependent variable in this study is work-family balance. This study has one hypothesis, this hypothesis is that work-family conflict has a negative and significant relationship to work-family balance. This type of research is mixed methods research, which combines qualitative research methods and quantitative research. This study uses a convenience sampling technique. The subjects of this are women who are Hindu, live in Bali, and carry out the roles of mother, wife, work, and krama adat, totaling 388 people. The scale used in this study is a scale that has been adapted from Carlson et al. (2000) for work-family conflict variables with a reliability of 0.87 for time-based WIF, 0.79 for time-based FIW, 0.85 for strain-based WIF, 0.87 for strain-based FIW, 0.78 for behavior-based WIF, and 0.85 at behavior-based FIW. In addition, the scale used for the work-family balance variable was adapted from Bintang and Astiti (2016) with a reliability of 0.911. The scale is filled by the subject in a self-report. The analysis technique used for qualitative data is thematic analysis techniques with MAXQDA 2018 tools. The result of qualitative research is that work-family conflict is one of the causes of work stress in working Balinese mothers. In quantitative data, non-parametric correlation analysis techniques are used with SPSS for windows version 22. The results of the analysis that have been carried out show that there is a negative and significant relationship between work-family conflict and work-family balance. This means, the higher the level of work-family conflict in an individual, the lower the level of work-family balance in that individual. The results of quantitative research can also be used to see the level of work stress in working Balinese mothers, namely Balinese mothers working in this study have a low level of work stress. Keywords: Work-Family Conflict, Work-Family Balance, Job Stress

Abstract

This study aims to empirically examine the correlation between doctors’ workload and healthcare service quality in the emergency department. The proposed research hypothesis shows that there is negative and significant correlation between doctors’ workload and healthcare service quality in the emergency department. Subjects in this study were 50 doctors and 134 nurses in the emergency department from six hospitals. The data were collected by distributing questionnaires, those are adaptations of NASA-Task Load Index Scale (α = 0,892) and Healthcare Service Quality Scale (α = 0,985). The analysis results showed that the data were normal but not linear. Instead of the data were not linear, hypothesis analysis was still carried out with Pearson Product Moment which requires normality of the data. The analysis showed that doctors’ workload didn’t correlate significantly with doctors’ healthcare service quality (p = 0,289), but those variable have negative correlation even though it is very low (r = -0,080). It can be concluded that the alternative hypothesis is rejected and the nol hypothesis is accepted. Keywords: Workload, Emergency Department Doctors, Healthcare Service Quality

Abstract

Measurement of mobile phone brand image is important. In the context of Indonesian consumers, it is also important to measure the brand image of cellular phones to encourage product innovation that contains the indigenous values of the Indonesian nation and can support sustainable growth in the industrial era 4.0. For this measurement, it is necessary to measure the brand image of a cellular phone. This study aims to develop a measuring instrument for Cellular Phone Brand Image that can be used by Indonesian consumers. The brand image model by Aaker (1997) and the brand value proposed by Zhang (2011) became the basis for making instrument items. The instrument trial involved 300 participants aged 18-40 years. The analysis of exploratory factor analysis resulted in 27 items grouped into 3 factors, namely functional benefits, brand associations, and personality characteristics. These three factors showed that brand characteristics and personal considerations have the same role in building a cellular phone brand image Keywords: Brand Image Scale,  Cellular Phone
