Abstract

Metacognition skills such as procedural knowledge, declarative knowledge, conditional knowledge, planning, monitoring, and evaluating are needed to understand problem-solving skills such as controlling and self-evaluation, planning and application, plan analysis, and understanding the problem. This study aims to describe problem-solving skills and student cognition in solving problems in physics subjects of XI IPA students in SMA Negeri 8 Samarinda. The population of the study sample amounted to 116 students grouped based on the results of physics achievement tests as many as 40 questions, divided into three groups, namely: groups of 32 students (28%), middle groups 61 students (53%), and groups under 23 students (20%). The research method used is a descriptive approach to the form of research in the form of case studies. Indicators of problem-solving skills, consisting of understanding the problem, analysis of the problem, planning, application of the plan, controlling & self-evaluation (UAPAC + SE). While metacognition uses the indicator of the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI). Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the average problem-solving skills of upper group students (68%) are the high category, middle group students (34%), and lower group students (33%) are low categories. While the average metacognition skills are upper group students (66%) in the high category, middle group students (36%), and lower group students (33%) in the low category.

Abstract

Teachers play an important role in transferring or sharing knowledge shared with students. In sharing this knowledge, it is necessary to have a teacher's initial ability in basic teaching skills. Study aimed to obtain an overview of the basic taught skills of prospective Biology Education teacher students at UMM based on the communication pattern of Transcript Based Lesson Analysis. This study used a descriptive approach involving subjects and the Lesson Study team. Data collection obtained from documentation includes video & audio recorder. Data through learning videos and audio were transcribed into writing according to all activities during the learning process. Furthermore, the learning transcripts were analyzed into descriptive data. The results showed that prospective teachers had mastered the nine components of basic teaching skills, namely opening lessons, questioning skills, improving skills, making variations, skills guiding small group discussion skills, small group and individual teaching skills, and class management skills and close the lesson. However, several indicators of the nine components have not been met, such as the skills to ask questions, explain, and guide small group discussions. Thus, this deficiency makes the teacher's activity more dominant than the students which are known through the word count graph of the Transcript Based Lesson Analysis.

Abstract

[Title: Development of Quick Math Module Based on Mobile Learning as a Support for Mathematics Learning in High School]. Learning resources is a very important component of the learning process. One of the learning resources that can be utilized independently is the module. The purpose of this research is to develop the Quick Math module and evaluate the feasibility of the module. The development model used is the ADDIE model namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The subject in this study was 15 students consisting of low, moderate and high-performance level and 6 teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Kota Serang. The instruments used to collect data in this research consist of expert validation questionnaire (content and media), Teacher and student response questionnaire. Based on data analysis results, obtained the score of the content material about 86.4% with a very feasible category, media experts about 88% with very feasible category, teacher response of 92% with very good category and student response of 88.39% with the very good category. Based on the data analysis it can be concluded that the Quick Math module is developed feasible to be used as a learning resource in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum. This app makes it easy for students to access flexible learning resources wherever and whenever.

Abstract

The Special Effort Program to Increase Rice, Corn and Soybean Production (Upsus Pajale) is a program to increase food production in 2015 which was implemented in Indonesia, including in Cakranegara District, Mataram City. With the implementation of the program, the purpose of this research is to analyze the level of implementation, identify obstacles and supports of the Upsus Pajale program which concentrates on rice commodities in Cakranegara District, Mataram City. This study uses descriptive methods and data collection techniques with survey techniques. The sampling technique used in the sampling area was purposive sampling (deliberately) with the consideration that 2 sub-districts received the Upsus Pajale program. The technique of determining the number of respondents used proportional sampling so that 40 respondents were determined according to the number of sub-populations of farmer groups in 2 villages in Cakranegara District. The data analysis used is categorical and descriptive data analysis. The results showed that there were 3 main stages in the implementation of the Upsus Pajale program, namely the planning stage was achieved well (62.5%), the implementation stage (97.5%), and the evaluation stage was achieved less well (80%). The Upsus Pajale sub-program that was well implemented in Cakranegara sub-district included 100% Irrigation Network Development, Land Optimization (100%), and System of Rice Intensification (95.2%). Constraints faced during program implementation include natural and technical constraints. Supporters of the program are Agricultural Field Extension Officer, Babinsa, assistant students from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram, and activities from farmer groups.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how college students with visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic learning style think relationally in solving recurrence relation problems using the tower of Hanoi. This study is an exploratory with a qualitative descriptive approach. It began by the provision of a mathematics ability test and a learning style questionnaire to obtain three subjects, each of which had a different learning style but equivalent mathematics ability. Next, the three subjects were given problem-solving tasks and interviewed twice. Time triangulation is used to check the consistency of the data. After the validity of the data had been confirmed, the analyses were executed. The data analysis stage of this study consists of five stages: data categorisation, data reduction, data presentation, data interpretation, and conclusion. The result shows that all three subjects met the four indicators of relational thinking, were Understand the problem, make a plan completion, carry out the completion plan, and recheck completion but only the kinaesthetic subject managed to find the final answer.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the triterpenoid group compounds from solvent partition result extract green bean fruit extract (Phaseulus vulgaris Linn) through increasing solvent polarity level. Extracts of beans was extracted by maceration using a water solvent (1: 18 w / v). The result of preliminary test resulted that the viscous water extract of green beans positively contained triterpenoid, and the result of GC-MS analysis showed that triterpenoid compound was present in the fraction of methanol extract that is tetracyclic triterpenoid type, lanostane: 9,19-cyclolanost-24-en-3-ol ( cycloartenol) which has the molecular formula C30H50O (m / z = 426).

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, face-to-face learning has been replaced with online learning (e-learning). The learning process with this mode must be able to support the learning objectives towards understanding the concept. This study aims to explore the effect of e-learning on concept mastery in prospective teachers. In this study, we conducted a one group pretest posttest design, where one class group was used as the research sample and was given a pretest, treatment, and posttest. The sample was taken purposively with the criteria of prospective teacher students taking fundamental physics courses on motion kinematics material. The number of research samples was 23 prospective teachers at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram – Indonesia. The instrument in the form of an essay test is used to measure the understanding of the concept. Analysis of research data used descriptive statistical analysis (pair t-test) to test the research hypothesis. The results of the pair t-test showed a significance of p = 0.000 (< 0.05), this means that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores after the implementation of e-learning. The interpretation leads to the effect of online learning mode (e-learning) on the concept mastery ability of prospective teachers.
