Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explore the reflection of feminist postcolonial Christology in the paintings of Emmaus – Emmanuel Garibay, which is creative, imaginative, provocative, and born from the painter's existential experience. I explored the views of theologians and artists about the painting to transform my thoughts as a Batak generation regarding the Christology doctrine, which is attached to human taste and culture, which Emanuel Gerrit Singgih called Jesus Inang tuak. Using the critical analysis, I found that the Christological reflection of Emmaus - Garibay's painting invites people to rethink the images of the life and work of Christ's ministry in the world using a postcolonial perspective. Jesus Inang tuak reflects feminist postcolonial Christology seeing Christ post-easter, which breaks the patriarchal view of Jesus and life and transforms the cultural community of society (especially the Batak people). This research will explore three primary aspects: the pros and cons of lapo tuak, the meaning of Emmaus' painting, and the reflection of feminist postcolonial Christology to revitalize the Batak people's lapo tuak.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to explore how the Protestant Church in Papua (GPI-Papua) and the Protestant Church at West Indonesia (GPIB) run their mission in the world. As representatives of the church on the earth, both churches carry the same mission. As the church they are called and sent by God to fulfill their duty which is to serve the world. The method developed in this study is the document study which mneans that the study focuses on some important documents of these churches. This study found out that the presbyterial-sinodal system which is adopted by the GPI-Papua and GPIB will create or run congregation as a family. Based on this system, the church should be developed as as family of God through which the church reflects the meaning of being a church. By being a family of God, these churches should not focus more on institutional or structural and organisation aspects of the church. In contrary, the two churches should develop functional church leadership as the basic character of the church leadership.

Abstract

Pluralism is a reality in people's lives in Indonesia and Moluccas. In this regard, the exclusive notions that are built up in religious life also contribute to the creation of conflicts that threaten the integrity of a pluralistic society. Therefore, it needs to be actively addressed by the church. One way is to make efforts to interpret the biblical text in this case the text of Colossians 3:11-17. This article is the result of an interpretation using the historical criticism method on the text of Colossians 3:11-17. In the interpretation, it is found that the text of Colossians 3:11-17 contains a theological understanding of plurality values. Pluralism is then understood as a theological truth, where Jesus bridges all differences without ignoring the unique identity of each individual and group. So that everyone is seen as the same in different functions which are analogous to "One body".

This paper will examine the Fagogoru philosophy as a contextual theological study of peace in Lelilef Sawai village and Lelilef Woebulen village, Weda Tengah District, Central Halmahera Regency. Central Halmahera Regency is located on the island of Halmahera which is the largest island in North Maluku. (2) What are the life values contained in Fagogoru's philosophy? (3) How to reconstruct contextual theology from Fagogoru's philosophy as an effort to build inter-religious harmony in Weda District, Central Halmahera?. It is hoped that this research can contribute ideas for developing peace studies, as well as developing studies on the relationship between religion and culture. Abstract

This paper seeks to see how important pre-understanding is in a contextual hermeneutic process. Therefore, by referring to the concept of pre-understanding in modern hermeneutics, both developed by Schleiermacher, Dilthey, Heidegger, Habermas, Ricoeur and Gadamer through a literature study, the author tries to see their constructive significance for contextual hermeneutics in Indonesia. In the end, it must be recognized that as a hermeneutic creature as Heidegger said, humans are not free from pre-understanding and pre-understanding is a prerequisite for doing hermeneutics. However, this pre-understanding must be criticized too, because not everything of it is emancipatory for life or even destructive tends to live.
