Abstract

The rapid development of education in the world requires the existence of a very tight competition that is supported by thedevelopment of advanced technology and information, so to be able to follow these developments require good human resources.the low interest of students in learning chemistry about covalent bonds and the lack of understanding of students in integratingthe nation character builders' value in the chemistry lesson about the covalent bonds. It is expected that learning withmolymood media can help learn mastery in comprehending covalent bond in class X TKJ SMK Negeri 13 Bandung.Chemical learning about covalent bonding requires better teacher explanation because there is much complexity inmemorizing. The method used in this research is Class Action Research. It is planned that in two cycles from the results ofthe research, the data obtained, in cycle I, the percentage of student activity is 80%, while in the second cycle to 95%. Fromthe response result, students love to learn by using molymood 90%, help understanding of subject matter 83,34%, and stillneed teacher explanation 86,67%. Constraints that are sometimes encountered include technical obstacles how to usemolymood in accordance with the child's creation and precision stringing. Completeness of chemistry study about covalentbond, there is an increase in post test value of cycle II by 27% from cycle I which is above KKM.

Abstract

The background of this research was students’ learning obstacle on probability material. Didactical design research methodwas used solve this problem. The purpose of this research were looking for learning obstacle students on probabilitymaterial, didactical design based on learning obstacle on probability material, and implementation of didactical design onprobability learning .The participants of this research were VII A and VIII A class in junior high school at Ciamis.Sample were given data collection through test, interview, and documentation. Data analysis techniques with datareduction, data display, and conclusion. Based the result can be concluded: (1) the focus of obstacle epistemological learningobstacle. Were three learning obstacle, were as a) determine point of sample and space of sample, b) determine thetheoretical probability of an event, and c) determine empirical probability or relative frequency to solve real problems; (2)Created three types of didactical design based on students’ learning obstacle in workshett there (3) based on result ofdidactical design implementation most of the students’ resppons are in accordance with the predictions that have been madebefore.

Abstract

Learning Mathematics should be given to all children as a foundation for logical thinking, analytical, systematic, critical, andcreative, as well as the ability to cooperate. Creativity is essentially a person's ability to give birth to something new in the formof ideas and real work in the form of new works as well as a combination of things that already exist. Creativity in mathematicsknown as creative thinking. Learning Mind Map is a learning technique that utilizes the entire record of the brain by usingvisual images and other graphical infrastructure to form an impression of the more interesting so that students can describe theconcept of a material with their own creativity in terms of both language and symbols. Through the Mind Map, we can see theoverall picture of the material we are studying, activates the whole brain works to develop and plan the direction of mind maps,solve a problem by making a creative breakthrough, it is easier to remember the information in a clear and easy to understand, and get something fun and creative.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of mathematical connections and the unavailability of teaching materials to improve students' mathematical connection skills. The purpose of this study was to develop mathematics teaching materials to improve students' mathematical connection skills with good characteristics and quality of teaching materials. This research uses qualitative and quantitative approaches. The method used is research and development (RD), with a modified Tessmer model design. The research subjects were class VIII students and a mathematics educator at a private junior high school located in Bandung district as well as a mathematics education lecturer. The instruments used were validation sheets, student questionnaires, educator questionnaires, observation sheets, and a set of mathematical connection tests. Data were collected through: validation of teaching materials, limited trials, and field trials. Based on data processing and analysis, two characteristics of the teaching materials developed consist of: material according to the 2013 curriculum; discovery learning model teaching materials design; evaluation according to mathematical connection ability indicators. The results of data analysis related to the quality of teaching materials show that the teaching materials developed are valid, practical, and effective. Thus it can be concluded that the developed teaching materials have characteristics to improve mathematical connection abilities and have valid, practical, and effective qualities.

Abstract

The problem of mathematic learning at SMPN 2 Pacet are low of student’s learning outcome. The alternative learning model to enhance students is cooperative learning model of jigsaw type. This research measured the enhacement of students’ learning outcome. This research used classroom action research based on Hopkins model. The research has been conducted in two cycles, every cycle consist of planning step, action step, observing step, and reflection step.The population are students of class 8 F SMPN 2 Pacet. The instrument of data collection are observation sheets, post test (Essay questions), questioners and journal. The quantitative data came from posttest, however the qualitative data came from observation sheets, questioners and journals. The data analysis technic are used flow method including data reduction, data presentation and conclusion or verification. Based on analysis, analysis result showed that students outcome have enhanced/improved after the learning with cooperative learning model of jigsaw type.

Abstract

The problem in this research is the lack of readiness of the practitioner students to practice in the field and the low ability ofhigh-order thinking of the students of praktikan. The purpose of this research is to know the comparison by using four activelearning models to improve students' high thinking ability. This research uses Research and Development method, with firstphase design, preliminary study done by applying qualitative descriptive approach. The second stage, the development of modeldesign, teaching materials web-based learning media by applying a descriptive approach, followed by the application of smallscopes of model design, teaching materials, and web-based learning media by applying the experimental method (Single OneShot Case Study). The results of the limited trials show that the average value of higher-order thinking skills for the guideddiscovery-based learning model and peer instruction is higher than the MinDS and Making A Conversation type of learningmodel. The findings of the limited trial result of the four guided discovery learning models are more suitable for improvingthe activity as well as the material content of the design of discovery learning activities (KBP) still confuses the students, sothere needs to be improvement.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a variety of cultures. One form of cultural diversity that must be maintained in order to remain sustainable is udeng. There are many ways that can be done to keep udeng from becoming extinct. One way that can be done is to use udeng on certain events or in everyday life. But something more specific to preserve udeng can be done by involving it in learning mathematics. One of the udeng that can be used is the typical Banyuwangi udeng. This article was written using a literature study, discussing ethnomathematics that can be used as a reference in learning. Several examples, one of which is Udeng Banyuwangi, will be described in detail as a reference for completing future research.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematical representation ability of students. One alternative learning that can be applied to improve the mathematical representation ability of students is the IMPROVE model. The purpose of the study was to determine the improvement of the mathematical and metacognitive representations of students who learned the IMPROVE and PBL models, as well as the correlation between the ability of mathematical representation to metacognitive students. The method used is quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The sample used by students in class VIII I as an experimental class (30 students) and class VIII J as a control class (32 students) one of the high school in Bandung Regency. The experimental class was treated using the IMPROVE model and the control class with the PBL model. The instrument used is a mathematical representation ability test, metacognitive ability questionnaire, and observation sheet. The results showed that the mathematical representation ability of students with the IMPROVE model was better than PBL, and the metacognitive abilities of students with IMPROVE and PBL models were either positive or good.

Abstract

The background of this research is the low matematical problem solving ability of students. To improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities the application of the missouri mathematics project (MMP) and team games tournament (TGT) learning models is used. The research aims to find out the improvement of students 'mathematical problem solving abilities through the application of a combination of MMP learning models and TGT is better than the problem based learning (PBL) learning model and students' responses to the application of the MMP learning model mix and the TGT. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental. The population in this study were all grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bojongsoang. The sample is students of class VII-D as an experimental class given a combination of MMP learning models and TGT and class VII-E as a control class given a PBL model. The instruments used were tests of mathematical problem solving abilities, student questionnaires, and observation sheets. Based on the analysis of the mathematical problem solving ability test results, it was concluded that the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving abilities through the application of a MMP learning model and TGT was better than the PBL model and based on the questionnaire analysis, it was concluded that the students responded positive towards the application of the MMP learning model mix and the TGT.

Abstract

Mathematical communication is the delivery of ideas or ideas that involve physical and mental activities that must be possessed bystudents in solving a problem in mathematics. For this reason, an appropriate learning model is needed, one of which is the Make AMatch cooperative learning model. The main objective of this research is to find out whether there are differences in achievement andimprovement in mathematical communication skills of students who use the Make A Match cooperative learning model with studentswho do not use the Make A Match cooperative learning model. This research was conducted using a quasi-experimental method. Thedesign used was non-equivalent control group design while the population in this study were all grade VII students of SMP Negeri 4Serang in the 2016/2017 school year. Sampling uses a purposive sampling technique and the instruments used are tests. The resultsshowed that: (1) The final achievement of mathematical communication skills of students who get the Make A Match cooperativelearning model with a scientific approach is better than students who get learning with a scientific approach. (2) Improvement of thefinal achievement of mathematical communication skills of students who get the Make A Match cooperative learning model with ascientific approach is better than students who get learning with a scientific approach.
