Abstract

The high cost of commercial feed is a problem that many fish farmers face which results in lower profits. Therefore, it needs additional feed others with a relatively cheap price, but do not inhibit the growth of fish to harvest. Tofu waste which has crude protein of 21.66% so that it can meet the nutritional needs of fish, but tofu waste also has crude fiber of 20.26% so that tofu waste needs to be fermented with probiotics because probiotics can break down undigested components and increase digestibility so that the use of feed become more efficient and growth becomes more optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of tofu waste fermented with probiotics as additional feed to increase growth in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). This research was conducted in September – October 2020. This study used two treatments, namely P0: Control (commercial feed) and P1: the use of 50% commercial feed and 50% additional feed in the form of tofu waste fermented with probiotics. Parameters observed were growth, feed efficiency, and survival of tilapia. The results showed that the P0 treatment resulted in absolute length and absolute weight growth of 0.76 cm and 0.64 g, respectively, feed efficiency 43.43%, and tilapia survival of 88%, while P1 resulted in absolute length growth and absolute weights were 1.11 cm and 1.3 g, respectively, feed efficiency was 82.12%, and tilapia survival was 84%.

Abstract

Facilities at TPI is deemed very important for the fishermen and the fishery business, because the Fish Auction Place is one of factors moving and increasing business and welfare of the fishermen. The purpose of this research was to identify facilities and equipments, analyze efficiency of physical condition and comparing efficiency of TPI Bondet and Karangreja in Regency of Cirebon. This study used descriptive research method. The method analysis to measure of the fish auction efficiency used by KEP.01/MEN/2007 concern to Quality and Safety of Fish Product in Production Process, Cultivation and Distribution. The research result that TPI Bondet and Karangreja facilities that is in the form of TPI building and TPI Office, meanwhile for its equipments such as basket, auctioneer seat, handcart, weigh, loudspeaker and lamps are still less adequate. TPI Bondet and Karangreja are valued still not efficient, as there were still many variable not meet criteria in accordance with indicators. TPI Bondet is more superior with obtaining score 35, whereas TPI Karangreja obtained score 26, means it these two TPI enters category efficient enough TPI

Abstract

Aquaculture with the Recirculation Aquaculture System (RAS) is a unique engineered ecosystem that minimizes environmental disturbances by reducing the discharge of nutrient pollution through reuse of water used in fish farming. This activity was conducted at LP2IL Serang field test facility starting in June-November 2020. In this test, the RAS system used for growing of sand lobster uses the stages of purification: sedimentation, physical filtration, biological filtration, water disinfection with UV irradiation, removal of CO2, clean water reservoirs and sand lobster rearing tanks. Water quality parameters tested: a) physics: DO, pH, temperature and salinity are measured every day; b) chemistry: ammonia (TAN and UIA), nitrite, nitrate and phosphate are measured every two weeks. If from the UIA value calculation, the value is above the quality standard (> 0.05 mg / L) then added molasses (26.02% organic C) with a concentration of 64 gr / gr TAN; c) microbiology: total bacteria and Vibrio sp. counting. From the results of this study it is known that RAS can maintain stable water quality for a relatively long time. High availability of organic matter (from leftover feed, feces and addition of molasses) can promote the growth of nitrifying bacteria. The "maturation" of the nitrifying bacteria in the biofilter compartment takes about 6 weeks. These bacteria are able to reduce levels of ammonium nitrogen, where the accumulation of nitrate nitrogen (NO3-) which is produced from the overhaul of nitrite nitrogen (NO2-) by nitrifying bacteria, is a signal that the maturation process of nitrifying bacteria has been achieved. The nitrification process consumes alkalis, hence lowers the pH value in the water, besides it also consumes a large amount of oxygen. The low number of bacteria and vibrio in the RAS system was affected by the use of a UV-sterilizer with a wavelength of 254 nm.

Abstract

This study aims to determine public perceptions regarding the management of mangrove tourism areas in Pante Deere Village, Kabola District, Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The research method used is the Likert scale. The results of the research regarding the benefits or benefits obtained related to the existence of mangrove forest areas, 81% of respondents stated strongly agree; 4% agree; 4% Neutral; 5% Disagree and 6% strongly Disagree; Furthermore, mangrove tourism has an effect on people's income or economy, 74% of respondents and 10% stated strongly agree and agree, while 10% are neutral, while 6% and 5% disagree and strongly disagree; then related to the need for improvement or improvement of the quality of mangrove tourism assets, 86% of respondents stated strongly agree; 9% agree; 5% Neutral; Meanwhile, to give sanctions to anyone who takes/cut down Mangrove trees in the Mangrove Forest Tourism area, it turns out that the majority or 100% of respondents stated that they strongly agreed.

Abstract

Humpback grouper Chromileptes altivelis is a marine fish that lives in tropical waters, especially in Indonesia. This fish has a high economic value and is the most expensive type of grouper in Indonesia. It can be used as ornamental fish or raised for consumption. Hatchery activities were started from brood rearing to produce productive broodstock, proper broodstock selection, multivitamin administration, and good environmental management. Humpback grouper was spawned en masse with a male to female ratio of 1:2. Fecundity of 1 female humpback grouper >300,000 eggs with a rematuration period of 20-30 days. Spawning using natural techniques accompanied by environmental manipulation, fish spawn for seven days during the dark moon. The number of eggs obtained was 560,000-2,000,000 eggs, with fertilization rate was 30-60%, and the hatching rate was 65-88%. The eggs that hatch into larvae were stocked with a density of 15-25 L-1. The larvae were transferred to a seed container at a size of 2-3 cm with a maintenance period of 40-45 days. Feeding at satiation using pellets measuring 1.1-2.0 mm with a protein content of 52-54% and 9-12% fat. Seeds were harvested at the age of 60 days when they reached a size of 5-6 cm, the survival rate was 3-5%.

Abstract

The waters of the Java Sea are the most important capture fisheries activity areas in the coastal areas of Java in terms of the number of fishing fleets, the number of fishermen, the number of fishing industries as well as market potential and infrastructure. This study aims to describe the implementation of the policy on the availability of raw materials to meet the fish supply, especially the processing industry. This research method uses cluster analysis. The data taken include secondary and primary data. The results obtained that the policy of fulfilling the availability of fish raw materials can be done by grouping fishing ports based on operational and distribution aspects in the coastal areas of Java. Geographically, the grouping of fishing ports in the coastal areas of Java can be divided into 3 parts, namely the western, central and eastern parts. The grouping is based on the similarity level of fishing port activities. The implementation of the fisheries port connectivity system policy essentially has implications for the fisheries logistics system. The establishment of an integrated fishery logistics system is expected to overcome the problems of shortage of raw materials for the fishing industry, oversupply and decline in the quality of catches.

Abstract

Mini purse seiner are the dominant vessels were operating in Tegal Regency and the number of these vessels have been increasing. These vessels at Larangan fishing port consist of 44 vessels of <10 GT and 37 vessels of ≥10 GT. Working activities on vessels <10 GT requiring 10 crew members, while vessels of ≥10 GT needs 15-20 crew members. Work accidents above the deck of the vessels have a high accident rate and are closely related to the value of theworking area. This research was intended with the aim of identifying activities and working area needs on the vessel by identifying the area of the used working area and formulating the adequacy of the work area for fishing activities. The sampling technique using a accidental sampling method with total sample is two to vessels <10 GT and three to vessels ≥10 GT . The data processing using mathematical calculations. Data analysis used descriptive analysis metode. The results of this study showed that the value of working area of vessels when setting conditions still far from sufficient area value. This conditions occurred because all crew gather in the same area when setting steps was conducted. The area mentioned which is on the left side of the ship when lowering the fishing gear, this will certainly increase the risk of work accidents.

Abstract

In the Tegal Regency area, there are two capture fisheries centers, namely Larangan Fish Auction Place in Munjungagung Village and Suradadi Fish Auction Place in Suradadi Village. This study aims to analyze the NP/P ratio and analysis of the Relative Production Value Index of capture fisheries products. The method used in this research is a case study method which is carried out on the marketing aspects of the caught fish landed at the Larangan Fish Auction Place and at the Suradadi Fish Auction Place, Tegal Regency. The calculation of the NP/P ratio and the Relative Production Value Index were carried out as the basis for analyzing the data. The results of the analysis showed that the Larangan Fish Auction Place in general experienced an increase, namely an average production growth of 15.30% and an average production value of 10.86%. Meanwhile, Suradadi Fish Auction Place experienced a decrease, namely the average production growth and production value were 5.71% and 6.09%, respectively. Calculation of NP/P Ratio and Relative Value Index of Capture Fisheries Production in Tegal Regency resulted in the Larangan Fish Auction Places NP/N Ratio is Rp. 8,843.60 and the average Production Value Relative Index is 1.17. While the Suradadi Fish Auction Place the average NP/N ratio is Rp. 4,637.34 and the average Production Value Relative Index is 0.62. The Larangan Fish Auction Place has a better marketing quality than the Tegal Regency level, while the Suradadi Fish Auction Place has a less good marketing quality than the Tegal Regency level.

Abstract

PT. X-North Jakarta produces Frozen Loin Tuna. The problem faced is the low value of yields that do not meet the company's standards. The purpose of the study is to (i) know the flow of the process of processing frozen loin tuna. (ii) understanding the quality of frozen loin tuna (iii) implementing kaizen using the fishbone method or a fish bone diagram (iv) understanding corrective actions for increasing yield and productivity (v) intervening in increasing yield and productivity (vi) calculating the estimated profit after interventionThe research was conducted from March to June 2021 at PT. X-North Jakarta. The method used is observation, with the type of data taken being primary and secondary data. Analysis of the Kaizen method obtained results showing that low yields were caused by several factors ranging from humans, methods, raw materials, and machines. After conducting an observation analysis of the yield value, it was found that the standard yield can be increased by 3% in tuna at a size of 20–50 kg, namely from the yield value of 49% can be increased to 52% and the size of 10–20 kg, the yield value of 48% can be increased to 51%. Profits can increase by Rp. 96,000/40 kg of raw materials with a 3% increase in size from 20 kg to 40 kg, and profits can increase by as much as Rp. 2,790,000,000/620,000 kg of raw materials if calculated over a time cycle (years). Improvements will occur if there is supervision and discipline of employees, equipment maintenance, and a need to carefully choose raw material.

Abstract

This study heads to analyze the effect of adding fermented E. cottonii flour as raw materials on the growth and survival rate of tilapia. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CDR) using 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments tested consisted of 0% E. cottonii flour (P1/Control), 4% fermented E. cottoni flour ( P2), 8% fermented E. cottoni flour (P3), 12% fermented E. cottoni flour (P4). Parameters observed were specific growth rate, absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, feed conversion, feed efficiency and tilapia fry survival. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with 95% confidence level. The results showed that the addition of E. cottonii seaweed flour fermented by tape yeast in the feed formulation could affect the efficiency of feed utilization but did not affect the growth, feed conversion and survival rate of tilapia. The addition of E. cottonii flour fermented by tape yeast to a concentration of 8% (P3) gave the best results because it could increase the efficiency of tilapia feed by 71.16% to 73.9%.
