Abstract

At glance this title confronts Al Qur’an with science and technology. The truth does not imply that as Al Qur’an from the very beginning urges muslim to develop the two. The problem is why the fact shows the otherwise, that moslem are left behind in science and technology. To know for sure, it needs to trace back using historical and theological approaches. The first used to find historical facts about moslem’s concern on science and technology and their contibution in developing these fields. The later deals with Qur’anic verses related to both science and technology, aimed at deciding the position or the Qur’an in this regard. The result reveals that moslems in classical period becoming pioneer in developing science and technolgy with its various branches. They felt confident to learn from the science and philosophy from Greek, translated and made adaption as well as developed them. ALQur’an turned out to be inspiring, motivating and guiding factor that made moslems lead the civilization for more than six ceturies. Referring to those above facts, if moslems today are left behind in science and technology, nothing to do with Al Qur’an and Hadits. The problem is their attitude towards Al Qur’an in additon to internal and external factors. To get back superiority, moslems should learn from leading moslem scientists and follow their steps in developing science and technology.

Abstract

This research focuses on Ahl Al-Kitab in Tafir Al-Azhar. The term Ahl Al-Kitab refers to unbelievers, particularly jews and Christians. In this instance, debatable communites are Majusi, Hiduism, Budism, Confusius, and the like. Some moslem scolars categorized them as Ahl Kitab, and the others not. This research is desciptive-analytic with Tafsir Al-Azhar as the primary resources. As for other relevant resources used as supporting or secondary ones. The result reveals that first, Ahl Kitab are those who take hold of certain Al-Kitab/holy scripture, consisting of jews, Christians, Shabiin, Majusi, and people sent to them Prophet and given Al-Kitab. All of them are guaranteed Paradise/ Jannah as long as they are pious and sincere. Some Ahl Kitab are rightous and some others are not, having bad characters just like disbelief, adultery, envy, disclose the truth, exceeding disobedience; and second, interpretation of Ahl Kitab in Tafsir Al-Azhar is certainly based on firmed and accountable guiding religious principles.

Abstract

Barâ’ is one of the two consequences of Tauhid Lâ ilâha illâ Allâh. Barâ’ is always followed by walâ’, these two things reap the concepts of loyalty and hostility which are barometered by love and hate. The problem of barâ’ is an issue which is so closely related to people’s daily life but its essence is far from the worldly life of Muslims, even Muslims no longer see this as a significant thing, especially human perception about the idol and lifestyle, and global culture. Where as people’s life cannot be separated from barâ’ in their happiness or sorrow. The initial things that ambiguous and forbidden to be done among Muslims gradually became a habit, until this act was considered a path to progress. The approach used in this research is Maudhû’i (Thematic) with library research. It is starting with theme determination, collecting the verses to be discussed word by word, relating each word to their interpretations, lastly taking The legal istinbâth (conclusion) from collected arguments. The primary source used is the book of Tafsir Asy-Sya’râwî: Khawâtir Haul Al-Qur’ân Al-Karîm, the work of Shaykh Asy-Sya’rawi. The results of the analysis in this research show that the interpretation of barâ’ has one broad meaning, that is to free one self from shirk means to stay away from destructive things. As for takhliyah, it is to cut off from destructive deeds. Moreover, the destructive things replace with mushlih practice, positive practice. Also, Muslims should idolize the prophets, especially Prophet Ibrahim in this case who has given us an example of how the essence of love and hate should be for a Muslim and follow his manhaj. And from the explanation that has been conveyed, there are at least 6 important points that must be realized currently by a Muslim.

Abstract

Patience is mentioned in the qur’an repeatedly. This makes the importance of patience al- ways in oneself in living this life, both in comfortable and threatened conditions. In the interpretation of fi zhilal al-quran explained that ash-shabru is a common trait and must be possessed by a Muslim, where it is impossible for a Muslim to carry his faith, carry out his creed, and carry out all the burdens of his taklif but with that characteristic. Patience is a provision in the way of preaching Islam. Because the way of da'wah is long and heavy, full of obstacles and thorns, full of threats of blood and murder, disturbance and danger. So, it is not enough for a preacher to just jihad. However, you also have to be patient in carrying out these da'wah duties. Patience is also one of the characteristics of the Prophets. Allah prom- ises glorious and unlimited rewards for those who are patient. As for the meaning of patience in the interpretation of fi zhilal al-quran that the author found, including: patient in the sense of being steadfast, patient with the meaning of being determined, patient with the meaning of carrying out perfectly and realizing achievements and patient with the meaning of not arguing and rejecting qadha and qadar from Allah. Meanwhile, the relationship between pa- tience and aspects of life that the authors find is of five kinds, including: patient in carrying out orders and obedience to Allah, patience in accepting life's trials, patience in preaching, patience in facing wars and patience is the key to glory and the rewards are unlimited.

Abstract

In an age full of slander and division like nowadays brotherhood (ukhuwah) and unity be- come something very expensive. Only because pursuing personal or group interests is often unity and brotherhood set a side or even ignored at all. The Islamic ummah are increasingly retreating and collapsing because of disputes and divisions among themselves. Even though Islam commands its people to unite and help in kindness. There are many propositions both from the Qur’an and as-Sunnah which command Muslims to unite, maintain brotherhood and also cooperate in kindness, so that it is fitting for Muslims together to return to knit the unity of the ummah and ukhuwah Islamiyyah. This study aims to find out the meaning of words ummatan wâhidah in the Qur’an based on Tafsir Asy-Sya’râwi, and to know the method of interpreting Asy-Sya’râwi for the verses ummatan wâhidah, and to find out tips the unity of the ummah according to Asy-Sya’râwi on its interpreters of the verses ummatan wâhidah. The approach used in this study is the approach Library Research (literature) with the type of maudhû’I (thematic) that is conceptually peeling by writing, presenting data and analyzing it. All of the data sources come from written materials related to topics that have originated from the primary data, namely Tafsir Asy-Sya’râwi. The results of the analysis of this study note that the interpretation of the word ummatan wâhidah in tafsîr Asy-Sya’râwi, there are several meanings which are explained and adjusted to the context of the verse. Among the meanings of ummatan wâhidah which are presented include: the unity of the ummah in following the manhaj of the Prophet Adam, the unity of the ummah under one shari’at, the unity of the ummah above the guidance, the unity of the people above al-Haq, unity of the Ummah that there are no disputes in it, the unity of the ummah above ‘ one aqîdah (ushul), the unity of the people in the faith, and the unity of the people above kufr. The interpretation method used by Asy-Sya’râwi is the method of inter- pretation bil ma’tsûr and also by the method bi al-ra’yi.

Abstract

Every moslem certainly believes that Al-Quran today is just the same as that read by Rasullah peace be upon him, and also the one heard and read by all his companions. In other words, it is all about authennticity of Al-Quran. This article tries to analyse that authenticity from the point of view of science and techology, using qualitative approach. As for methods applied here is descriptive and deductive. This is library research, depending very on library documents. The result reveals that Al-Quran already descibed the existence and creature of universe and called human beings to make use of their reasoning capacity, and even challenged them to show its defects. Fourteen centuries ago, Al-Quran established corner stone for science and technology; also, Al-Quran is resource of knowledge about life and universe with all usages and benefit. Many modern scientists – after a long research- proved the truth of some verses of Al-Quran telling about science and technology.

Abstract

The Qur’an was revealed to giving instructions for human, which is leading to a straight path. They should be able to learning, understanding and formulating instructions in the Qur’an, either its expressed or implemented. The instructions must be understood and in- terpreted from every word without any advantageously tendencies of themselves. There are various moral messages in the Qur’an that must be studied and understood completely and comprehensively. Including about agreements issue. There are many agreements terminology in the Qur’an, one of them is mîtsâqan. The purposes of this research are to determine the Sayyid Qutb’s interpretation of the verses that have the word “mîtsâqan ghalîzha”. And the approach that used Sayyid Quthb of interpretation it. The study was a library research of interpretation approach thematic (maudhu’i) with com- parative combination. The results of this research show that interpretation of “mîtsâqan ghalîzha” by Sayyid Qutb is the rope that arranged then used to describe the oath and prom- ise which is strong, solid and steady. The approach that used to interpretation of the verses mîtsâqan ghalîzha in Fî Zhilâlil Qur’an is tahlili.

Abstract

To impredicate means to curse. If one is cursed by Allah Subhânahu wa Ta'ala, it means that he/she is kept away from His Grace and Blessings. Allah Subhânahu wa Ta'ala curses someone due to the misbehaviour she/he did, which are prohibited by Him. Once one is cursed by Allah Subhânahu wa Ta'ala, then Allah Subhânahu wa Ta'ala will not send any help. Therefore, we need to acknowledge the things which can cause the descent of Allah's impredications. This study aims to determine the interpretation of Allah's curses in the Holy Qur'an based on the interpretation contained in the Tafsir books of the Al-Qur'an Al-Adzim by Ibn Katsir and the Al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab, as well as the similarities and differences between the two commentators. The data collection technique used is documentation technique. It is done by collecting data related to the object of research from the Tafsir books and other books relevant to the discussion. The research method used is comparative method, which is utilized by comparing the interpretation of the verses of the Holy Qur'an as represented in one book to another. The result of this research is that an impredication is interpreted as a curse. The similarity of interpretation between the two mufassirs lies in interpreting the nature of the cursing. According to both of them, when one is cursed by Allah Subhânahu wa Ta'ala, it means that he/she is removed from His Mercy and all the Blessings surrounded with it. The differences in the interpretation between the two commentators lies in the reason why Allah Subhânahu wa Ta'ala descended the impredication, specifically on the cursing of the Jews and the Children of Israel.

Abstract

Tawadhu’ means humble, the anonym from arrogant. Tawâdhu’ is a prominent attitude for a mukmin, the understanding and implementing this attitude is a necessity. This research de- signed to discover the interpretation of verses about tawâdhu’ and the forms of tawâdhu’ in tafsir Al-Mishbah. This research uses an analytical descriptive method. Than analyzing it by using thematic interpretation approach as described by Al-Farmawi in his book Al-Bidâyah Fi Al-Tafsîr Al-Maudhû’i. From the result of this research we can draw a conclusion that tawâdhu is a comendable attitude that not limited to lifestyle only but includes the behavior af a servant to his Rabb and muamalah to fellow human in general and fellow believers in particular. The forms of tawâdhu in tafsir Al-Mishbah are to consider fellow believers as brothers, being gentle in assosiating and advising, helping others, accepting truth from any- one, always aware of Allah’s power, not bragging about Allah’s gifts, protecting the believers whom are weak and lightening their burdens, gentle and authoritative, ignoring emotional words, not looking away when meeting other people, not walking arrogantly, not boasting about the faith, loving and helping each other.

Abstract

Here are a plethora of treasonous occurrences that occur in society, nearly in every sort of connection with other people that involves deception. Despite the fact that religion forbids and forbids humans who are straight in their nature from saying that the deed is evil and unworthy. Leaders or those in positions of authority who frequently deceive the people or those under their command, in buying and selling, such as having cheap and reducing scales, and in making honesty by being honest and cheating in practice are among the activities that frequently occur in society. exam. Treason is defined as betrayal and dishonesty. Meanwhile, in the Indonesian dictionary, treason is defined as someone who is untrustworthy, breaches commitments, and commits deceitful acts of treachery that God despises. This is a library research project employing documentation as a data gathering strategy. The term thematic approach, which is a thematic study model that explicitly investigates certain terms in the Al-Qur'an, was employed as the data analysis tool. Tafsir Al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab is the primary data source or main reference (Lentera Hati: Tangerang, 2016, revised edition). Supporting books, literature from books, scientific journals, undergraduate theses, theses, and articles pertinent to the issue are examples of secondary data sources for interpretation.
