Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of farmer groups on maize productivity in Gerung District, West Lombok Regency. This research is descriptive research which was conducted in Mesanggok Village, Gapuk and Suka Makmur Village, Gerung District, West Lombok Regency, using a proportional sampling based on the widest corn crop area, using a sample of 78 farmers, determined by proportional random sampling. The data uses a score based on the Likert scale, then analyzed using Chi- Square (X2) analysis. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that statistically the participation of farmers in farmer group members has a role in corn productivity, but is not significant. This is indicated by the results of X2 Count (1.94) < X2 table (9.49), the participation of farmers in farmer group members does not play a significant role in productivity due to internal factors, namely the ownership of farming capital which is still lacking, so that the purchase of production facilities such as fertilizers which is lacking and has an impact on corn production that is not optimal and also due to external factors such as uncertain natural factors, such as rain falling on the flowering process as a result many corn plant flowers fall out.

Abstract

The research design uses a descriptive quantitative approach, which explains the state of the efficiency of water distribution in Karang Bayan, Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency. The data used in the analysis are water flow velocity (VAV), cross-sectional area (A), channel flow rate (Q), water demand for plants and water requirements for each irrigation area, and the efficiency of irrigation water distribution in each channel (E). The results showed that the S3 and S4 channels did not meet the water needs in the irrigation area, while the discharge in the tertiary irrigation canals S1, S2, S5 and S6 was sufficient to meet the water needs of the irrigation area in Karang Bayan Village. Because the availability of water in the Mencongah Weir is very sufficient for providing water to the tertiary canal. Channel S1 which has an irrigation area of 36.64 ha and a channel length of 700 m with an actual discharge of 44.8 ltr/s has an irrigation efficiency of 60%. The S2 channel which has an irrigation area of 57,115 ha and a channel length of 900 m with an actual discharge of 67.9 ltr/s has an irrigation efficiency of 60%. In the S1 and S2 channels, the efficiency value is above 50-60%, then the channel can be said to be efficient

Abstract

According to a study from the Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI) in 2018 it was estimated that around 0.26 million ~ 0.59 million tons of this plastic flows into the sea and plastic waste in Indonesia reaches 66 million tons per year. The plastic waste recycling system has also not worked well in Indonesia, as well as the awareness of the people not to litter. Many Indonesian people also do not care about the dangers of plastic waste and the use of  single-use plastic bags. So it is not surprising that Indonesia is the largest waste contributor country in Southeast Asia and also number two in the world. The composition is 75% consisting of organic waste and only 25% inorganic waste. Organic waste has been widely used as material for making compost, briquettes and biogas, but inorganic waste is still very limited in its management. Seeing that the potential for inorganic waste is large, it is not impossible to be able to use the existing plastic waste to be converted into useful products. Moreover, the creations of plastic waste are no less competitive with factory-made products and of course have a selling power that can generate profits.
