Abstract

The challenges Indonesia faces in the ASEAN economic integration process are not only internal, but also competition between ASEAN countries and other countries outside ASEAN. Another challenge is that Indonesia's inflation rate is still higher than other countries in the ASEAN region. There are some fundamental issues that Indonesia needs to face in its response to MEA (AEC) 2015. First, the hidden unemployment rate is high; second, low-level entrepreneurs are accelerating the expansion of job opportunities; third, Indonesian workers are mainly uneducated workers, and their productivity is low; fourth, the number of educated unemployed is increasing; Differences in productivity; 6. The informal sector dominates occupations; 7. The unemployment rate in Indonesia is the highest among the 10 ASEAN countries; 8. Issues such as minimum wage, contract labor, employment and social insurance faced by workers; 9. Indonesian workers abroad The problem. From the aforementioned explanation, government should immediately prepare strategic steps to deal with challenge and threat from AEC by devising and reforming national policies aiming to stimulate and increase competitive of human resources and industry

Abstract

Nowadays, the information delivery often uses the internet media or called as online media. This study aims to examine the delivery of news about Boris Johnson's victory in British Prime Minister Election through the electronic media liputan6.com and find out the critical discourse meaning of delivery of news about Boris Johnson's victory in British Prime Minister election through electronic media of CNN Indonesia. The method of this research is qualitative descriptive method.This study also uses fairclough discourse analysis. Fairclough has an interest in "Language as a social practice" and the idealism of media in representing the story of news and present it in the news text. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that critical discourse analysis emphasizes discourse as a form of interaction and through critical discourse analysis it provides the use of spoken and written language as a form of social practice.

Abstract

This study attempts to analyze the way Jacob against his absurd life in Ransom Riggs‘ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Jacob Portman experiences unexpected condition. He looks for the truth of his grandfather‘s past in order to restore his peaceful and normal life. However, after he found out about his grandfather‘s past, contrary he cannot got back to his previous life as what he planned before. His life changes into dangerous life. It made him feels hopelessness. This study aims to describe Jacob‘s absurd life, the way he against his absurd life and his characterization. To solve these problems, this study uses Absurdism theory by Albert Camus which is defined about the confrontation between human‘s desire and the world and revolt as the right way to face an absurd life and New Criticism theory as supporting theory. The result of this study shows that Jacob has five characteristics; intelligent, brave, idealistic, responsibleand rebellious. His absurd life describes when his life does not go as what he planned. The feeling of hopelessness and anguish in his life are as the effects of absurd life. Moreover, the way he against his absurd life is by doing revolt. He continues and faces his life which is not as what he expects before.

Abstract

This study aims to describe about the portrayal and the consequence of the absurdity in Tracy Whitney’s life in If Tomorrow Comes novel written by Sidney Sheldon. Tracy Whitney is described as a free and an independent woman who had a perfect life. However, the perfect life is suddenly changed into miserable life. She is being trapped by the gang of mafia in her town and nobody cares for her. This study used descriptive qualitative as the methodology with library research as the approach of the study. Albert Camus’ absurdism theory is also used as the main theory in analyzing the literary work. The results shows that the life of the main character that suddenly change from harmonious life into miserable life is found as an absurd situation. The feeling of hopelessness and alienated makes the life of the main character becomes absurd. Moreover, in the consequence from the absurd situation the main character chooses to revolt and and accepting her condition.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to analyse a classic science-fiction novel Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley using Soren Kierkergaard’sreligious existentialism. The novel tells about the life journey of Victor Frankenstein as the main character. Victor Frankenstein is a genius man who is mastering science and wants to create human being from his knowledge and combine it with supernatural elements. Victor feels like he can create a creature like human. With all his ambition, he tries to build human being.Unfortunately his ambition comes into misery when his creature turns into monster. This thesis focuses on Victor Frankenstein life process. This study apply the theory of Existentialism to analyse the main point by using Soren Kierkergaard’s existentialism theory (Aesthetic, Ethic and Religious stages of life) to Victor Frankenstein Obsession, and it uses descriptive qualitative research. As the result, it finds out that Victor Frankenstein’s life existentialism was led by his obsessional character.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to figure out the components and elements for the model thus to design and develop a prototype model of KKQ meaning-based Tarannum mobile app. This study employed document analysis whereby research on ten existing Tarannum mobile apps in Google Play Store market to find out those components and elements. From document analysis, matrix analysis is used to analyse what are the components and elements that have in the existing Tarannum mobile apps to be embedded into the prototype model. The findings were analysed in thematic analysis whereby this paper explains each of the components and elements into themes. The finding shows that the main elements of the model are (1) Tarannum types which consist of seven types of Tarannum (i.e Bayyati, Nahawand, Rast, Hijaz, Soba, Sikah and Jiharkah), (2) Tarannum variation (Harakat), (3) Surah; with the audio or text or both of the surah (4) Tausyikh; that have the audio or text or both of tausyikh, (5) additional features (Tarannum practice, Adzan, Video of Tarannum), and (6) multimedia elements (text, audio, graphics, and video).

Abstract

This study reveals the development of Cambodian governments from 1993, initiated by Paris Peace Agreements in 1991, to the present time. The study collects analytical reviews, data from online and other sources. Data is then classified and analysed. The study shows that there have been six mandates of multi-lateral government except the latest one, which political deadlocks always occurs after the national elections, and how they are solved. Therefore, it recommends for an independent election commission, to reduce top-ranking political officials, advisors, committees, authorities, and to allow political parties to involve in free, fair, and transparent elections.

Abstract

The dual position or profession as an advocate and a lecturer sometimes raises doubts about whether the dual position as a lecturer is allowed or not. This doubt has the potential to cause a debate that leads to legal uncertainty conditions. This study aims to determine the prohibition of a lecturer who also being an advocate and vice versa. Is there any prohibition on an advocate who also being a lecturer for eliminating the doubts and creating legal certainty for dual professions of lecturers and advocates. This research uses the normative research or library research method. Legal research conducted by examining library materials or secondary data through normative legal research, in this case referring to a court decision that has permanent legal force, the Decision No: 47/Pdt.SUS-PHI/2016/ PN Pdg. By doing this research, it is hoped that it can further straighten the views or opinions that the dual profession of lecturers and advocates may or may not be based on the applicable positive law. From the results of this research, it was concluded that lecturers who were concurrently professions as advocates did not violate the legislation provisions and could not be justified to dismissal the double-professional lecturers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the impact of earnings returns, firm value, and firm size on stock prices in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2018-2020 period. The population in this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange according to the publication of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The companies that are the sample of this research are manufacturing companies in the various industrial sectors that have been listed on the IDX since the data for the period in this study is 2018-2020, 54 manufacturing companies in the various industries were selected. The results showed that the return on earnings had a positive effect on stock prices, while firm value and firm size had no effect on stock prices in manufacturing companies in the various industrial sectors.

Abstract

The company's performance describes various parts of the entire company from financial side to the level of output until the market rate of return. This research aims to examine human capital, capital structure, capital employed on the performance of service companies as measured by using economic value added (EVA). This research used associative research, which has an aim to determine the relationship or influence two or more variables. Quantitative methods are used to examine certain populations or samples, collecting data using research instruments, analyze quantitative or statistical data, within the aim of testing the established hypotheses. Based on the test results, it is proven that the first, second, fifth and sixth hypotheses are not supported by moderating variables. While the third and fourth variables are supported by moderating variables. Based on the results of research and hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that human capital, capital structure has no influence on financial performance as measured by EVA. Moreover, capital employed has an influence on EVA.
