Abstract

That cigarette kills you is a warning listed on every circulating cigarette wrapping label, but for smokers it is only considered a meaningless slogan. This research aims to analyze the extent to which the application of non-smoking areas is effective and adhered to by employees, especially the Local Government Task Force (SKPD) of Gorontalo Province. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The data source is obtained from primary and secondary data. The results showed that the implementation of the policy of non-smoking regional programs in the SKPD environment has not been effective due to the behavior of non-compliance of employees who are not fully aware of cigarettes can cause disease, less understanding about cigarette smoke is more harmful to passive smokers. Concluded that the Implementation of Non-Smoking Area Policy in SKPD Environment has not been fully adhered to by employees where there are still smoking not in the place that has been provided, the employees have not realized that cigarettes and their content can cause disease, and that the employees do not understand that cigarette smoke can interfere with the health of themselves and people (passive smokers) in the vicinity. Therefore, it is recommended that the Local Government be more keen to socialize so that employees comply with the regulations; aware of the dangers of cigarettes indirectly damaging to health; understand that cigarette smoke is very dangerous for himself and those around him. Abstract

The present study aims (1)to determine the relationship between pedagogical competence and achievement motivation of teachers in Atinggola State Junior High School, Gorontalo Utara Regency, (2) to determine the relationship between work commitments and teacher achievement motivation at Atinggola State Junior High School, Gorontalo Utara Regency, (3) to explore teachers with achievement motivation at SMP Negeri Atinggola, North Gorontalo District, (4) to find out that there is a relationship between pedagogical competence, work commitment and teacher productivity together with teacher achievement motivation at SMP Negeri Atinggola, North Gorontalo Regency. SMP in Atinggola District and as a whole was held for 4 months. Based on the results of data processing, the following conclusions are formulated: (1) There is a positive relationship between pedagogical competence and teacher achievement motivation at Atinggola State Junior High School, Gorontalo Utara district, meaning that the better the pedagogic competence the teacher has, the teacher's achievement motivation will increase, (2) The positive relationship between work commitment and teacher achievement motivation at Atinggola State Junior High School, North Gorontalo district means that the higher the teacher's commitment to work, the higher the motivation for achievement, (3) There is a positive relationship between work productivity and teacher achievement motivation at Atinggola State Middle School, Gorontalo District Utara means that if teacher productivity is increased, teacher achievement motivation will increase, (4) There is a positive relationship between pedagogical competence, work commitment and work productivity together with teacher achievement motivation at SMP Negeri Atinggola, North Gorontalo Regency This means that if a good teacher's pedagogical competence is supported by commitment and high productivity, it will increase teacher achievement motivation.

Abstract

The current study aims: (1) to partially analyze the effect of the recruitment process on teacher performance in special education schools in Gorontalo Province, (2) to partially analyze the effect of competence on teacher performance in special education schools in Gorontalo Province, (3) to simultaneously analyze the influence of the recruitment process and competence of teacher performances in special education schools in Gorontalo Province. The study uses a quantitative approach. This research design uses numbers, statistics, structures, and controlled experiments. This research was conducted in all special education schools in Gorontalo Province involving 203 people as the population and 134 people as the samples. Samples were taken by using simple random sampling. To collect the data, the questionnaires were used as instruments. The results show that: (1) the recruitment process affects the performance of teachers in special education schools in Gorontalo Province. Based on the results of hypothesis testing "It is suspected that there is an influence of the recruitment process on teacher performances in special education schools in Gorontalo Province" which is proven and stated that there is the effect of the recruitment process on teacher performance. The contribution of the recruitment process affects teacher performance by 28.7% while the remaining 71.3% is influenced by other variables from outside of this study. (2) Moreover, competence influences on teacher performance in special education schools in Gorontalo Province. This can be seen in the test results of the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.350, this means that the contribution of competence affects the teacher performance by 35% while the remaining 65% is influenced by other variables from outside of this study. (3) recruitment process and competence simultaneously influence the performance of teachers in special education schools in Gorontalo Province. The results show that the recruitment process and competence simultaneously influence the performance of teachers in special education schools in Gorontalo Province. The contribution of the recruitment process and the competence explaining teacher performance is (R2) 0.456, which means that the recruitment process and competence contribute 45.6% to teacher performance. This hypothesis can be stated that it is accepted simultaneously, where the recruitment process and competence together have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance.

Abstract

Stroke is a health problem which has a high mortality rate that can cause long-term disability. In Gorontalo province, the prevalence of stroke based on diagnosis by health workers was 10.9%. Stroke risk factors are divided into two that can be modified and cannot be modified. This study aims to find out a description of the characteristics and an analysis of the factors that influence the incidence of stroke in Prof. dr. H. Aloei Saboe Gorontalo Hospital Period March - December 2018. The research design was descriptive analytic observational with a cross sectional retrospective approach. The sample in this study was all patients with ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke who were treated in the neurology inpatient of Prof. dr. H. Aloei Saboe Hospital by using consecutive sampling techniques that fulfill the inclusion criteria. In this study, a sample of 115 patients was obtained, with the highest proportion is male (62.6%), age classification 56-65 years old (33%), elementary school certificate (40.9%), with onset <24 hours (33.9%). Based on risk factors, those with a history of hypertension (78,3) %, grade 2 hyper tension (32.2) %, and uncontrolled (72.2%). Total cholesterol ≥200 (59,1%), LDL <160 (68.7%), HDL ≥30 (98.3%), triglycerides ≤160 (73.9%), received dyslipidemia therapy (61.7%), heart disease (66,1%) and cardiomegaly (34,8%). History of diabetes mellitus 23,5%, with RPG <200mg / dL 73,9% and 67,8% never received diabetes therapy. In kidney disorders, it was only found 7,8%. Significant risk factors for stroke (p <0.005) are age (p <0.001), hypertension (p=0.044), heart disease (p=0.034), total cholesterol (p=0.047), LDL (p <0.001), HDL (<0.012) and triglycerides (p <0.038), whereas diabetes mellitus, and kidney disorders have no significant relationship with the incidence of stroke. It can be concluded that most stroke patients are found in the age criteria 56-65 years with male gender, elementary school certificate, and less than 24 hours of onset. The most common risk factors found was hypertension who are not controlled by the drug, dyslipidemia with a total cholesterol component >200mg/dL and cardiomegaly. There is a significant relationship between age, heart disease, hypertension, LDL, HDL, triglycerides and total cholesterol on the incidence of stroke

Abstract

WHO (2011) notes that one billion people in the world suffer from hypertension and cause nearly 8 million deaths each year worldwide and nearly 1.5 million people each year in Southeast Asia. Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2013 revealed the incidence of hypertension in Indonesia Reached around 25.8%. This study aims to Determine what factors are related to the quality of life of Hypertensive Patients as measured using the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. This research was conducted in the working region of Sipatana Health Center, Gorontalo City with the research method used was descriptive method with cross-sectional design. The research measuring instrument uses the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL) -Bref Questionnaire, questionnaire consisting of 26 questions and is divided into four domains items, namely the domain of physical, psychological, social and environmental health quality and conducted by interviewing Patients who are being Examined health at the Sipatana Health Center. The description of the factors related to the quality of life of Hypertensive Patients at the Sipatana Health Center is Described as follows: Education Level Factors, based on the results of the study show that respondents with low education growing niche to have a poor quality of life as much as 66%. Occupational Factor. In this study, the majority of Hypertensive Patients who did not work / work did not have a poor quality of life, as many as 30 respondents (60%). Then the Joint Living Factor, based on the Chi-square statistical test, P = 0:15 Obtained a value indicating that there was no significant relationship between Hypertensive Patients with the main family living and quality of life. Abstract

Acceptance of healthy snack products made from local food for difficult to feed (picky eater) age of preschool children. The experimental study was conducted on a pre experimental basis, with a sample size of 25 people and processed using a cruciate-wallis test to determine the acceptability of trained panelists (students) and the Comstock method to determine an untrained panel of acceptance test (preschoolers). Received power test by looking at the remaining food in preschool children was obtained from 25 schoolchildren with biscuits remaining only 12% (3 children), while 88% (22 children) were left. The results of the organoleptic test showed that the best product was product / formula 1 (B2) with an average of 3.69 according to the color, aroma, taste, and texture attributes.

Abstract

Water is a essensial for live. Water for consumption purpose needs to be treated to meet the quality guidelines of 5 Nephelometric Turbidity Unit (NTU) according to World Health Organization. There was some treatment like the use of chemical water treatment agents, which are mostly imported and are usually very expensive, and toxic. The community of North Huidu have a serious problem with turbid water. The community service team of Health Polytechnic of Gorontalo want to solve this problem. Team introduce moringa seed and sand filter as purifier water. As an underutilized tree in Gorontalo Province, Moringa oleifera (drumsticks) seeds can be used as a coagulant agent that can purify turbid water. The community service was held at 21 November 2018 at Village Office of North Huidu and attended by 50 people. After the average of pretest was 73 and the average of post test was 82. It means there was a significant enhancement of knowledge about purifying water. Moringa seeds and sand filter can be used as effective purifier at North Huidu Village.

Abstract

Ginger (Zingiber officinal), miana (Coleus atropurpureus benth) and calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) are plants that have high antioxidant activity. This activity is due to the content of flavonoids, anthocyanins, essential oils and minerals. However, it is unfortunate in Gorontalo that these three ingredients are only used as spices. Based on the content and lack of utilization of these three plants, reseacher to make a formula that is popular with the community, namely ginger-based jelly candy, miana and Calamansi which are rich in antioxidants and can increase endurance. The research method is true experiment. Organoletic test results show that Formula B is the most preferred formula. Microscopic tests and heavy metal tests show that Jamicu jelly candy fulfills the requirements of SNI 3547-02-2008 concerning Jelly Soft Confectionery. Antioxidant activity test results using the DPPH method show that Jamicu jelly candy has a very strong antioxidant activity (IC50 3.39 ppm)

Abstract

Cosmetics are materials or preparations intended to be used on the outside of the human body (epidermis, hair, nails, lips and external genital organs) or teeth and oral mucous membranes primarily to cleanse, fragrance, change the appearance and / or improve body odor or protect or maintain the body in good condition Cosmetics is one product that is used routinely and continuously by the public. Therefore, in the selection of cosmetics required a vigilance of the components contained therein, especially those containing additives. Negative reactions caused not only affect the skin tissue but also affect the tissue system and other important organs. The lack of understanding and the lack of optimal socialization about safe cosmetics are the main factors, in this case, therefore one of the efforts that can be done to increase adolescent knowledge is to conduct counseling activities. Department of Pharmacy of the Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Gorontalo in collaboration with IAI Gorontalo City, conducting counseling for students of State Senior High School 3 Gorontalo. The purpose of this activity is to see the effect of counseling on improving the knowledge and attitudes of students of State Senior High School 3 Gorontalo about safe cosmetics. This research with pre-experiment design uses a pretest-posttest design model that is analyzed by the Wilcoxon sign test. The results of the analysis of differences in mean knowledge and attitudes of students showed results, there were significant differences in the knowledge and attitudes of students where the value of p <0.0001 (p <0.05) and based on the value of the proportion of knowledge before counseling and after counseling there was an increase in the number and percentage where the value of p <0.0001 (p <0.05), but based on the results of the analysis for the proportion of attitudes there was no significant difference in the attitudes of students p = 0.163 (p> 0.05). Overall, these results indicate that counseling can bring changes in knowledge and attitudes towards students of State Senior High School 3 Gorontalo so that it is expected to be able to improve health problems such as skin diseases, especially those related to the use of illegal cosmetics

Abstract

Food safety is a matter that must be considered in the organization of food. The use of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) flavoring has been widely used but has been known to cause various negative effects on the human body. Because it is necessary to find alternative flavorings from natural ingredients. Sagela, which comes from smoking roa (Hemiramphus brasiliensis) has a savory taste so that it can be processed into an alternative food flavoring. The purpose of this study was to make flavoring from Sagela Powder. The research method is experimental. The product was tested using Nutrisurvey software, organoleptic test, water content test, and heavy metal qualitative test, microbiology, and a preference test.
