NEOLOGIA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia is a peer-reviewed scientific open access journal, with e-ISSN 2829-9612 and p-ISSN 2087-2496. It has been published by the Department of Indonesian Language and Literature, Faculty of Language and Literature, Universitas Negeri Makassar. NEOLOGIA is published since 2010. NEOLOGIA is issued semiannually: in February and Auguts. NEOLOGIA publishes manuscripts on research in linguistics and literature. NEOLOGIA features research novelties and significance for scientific advancement in one of the fields of the published manuscripts. This journal welcomes submissions from around the world as well as from Indonesia. Manuscripts published include but are not limited to the following. Linguistics; phonology, morphology, syntax, discourse analysis, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and critical discourse analysis. Literature: local literature studies, Indonesian literature, foreign literature studies, children literature, literature studies for character education, and other literary studies. The editorial board would like to receive manuscripts submitted via the online submission system. Make sure that the manuscripts meet the scope and submission guidelines of the journal. Abstract

Revealing the Hedonist Lifestyle at Arumi Ekowati’s Novel Tahajud Cinta di Kota New York by Arumi Ekowati: Review of Postcolonialism. The purpose of this study is to present the mindset and behavior of Indonesian people, especially hedonism as a means of fostering nationalism awareness in the era of globalization. The approach used in this research is the postcolonialism approach. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data was collected using documentation techniques that read and record objects to be studied. The results of the study in the form of a hedonism lifestyle became one of the characteristics of the westernized style. As for the spirit of nationalism in the form of independence, maintaining shame, mutual cooperation, unity, care will be hard to find in generations who have lost the spirit of nationalism in themselves.

Abstract

The Portrait Of The Character Needs In The Novel Of Kubah By Ahmad Tohari (The Humanistic Psychological Theory Of Abraham Maslow). This study aims to describe the needs of Karman as the main character in Ahmad Tohari's Kubah novel by using a review of Abraham Maslow's Humanistic Psychology. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data is in the form of text excerpts that reveal aspects of the needs of karman figures obtained from the sixth edition of Ahmad Tohari's novel Kubah. Data analysis techniques using documentation techniques. The results of this study will reveal the existence of five aspects of the needs of the karman figures as the main characters namely: (1) Physiological Needs, (2) Needs of security, (3) Needs of recognition and affection, (4) Needs of Appreciation, and (5) Needs Self-actualization.

Abstract

The meaning of text in poetry collection Cahaya Maha Cahaya. The general purpose of this research is to describe the concept of Erlebnis (life Experience), Ausdruck (expression), and Verstehen (understanding) contained in the poetry collection of the Cahaya Maha Cahaya by Emha Ainun Nadjib. The approach used in this study was the hermeneutics approach of Wilhelm Dilthey. Data is collected using the Read and note method. The results of this study show some concepts: (1) The Erlebnis concept that says that the background of poetry is very influential with the experiences of its creators. (2) The Ausdruck concept suggests that Emha wanted to reveal about a human being whose search for the nature of life was against his lord. (3) The concept of Verstehen shows the relationship between the meaning of poetry and real life.

Abstract

Abstract: Monarchy Feuds in the La Tinro Stageplay Script By Rostan Yuniardi (Ian Watt Sociological Study of Literature). This study aims to describe the monarchical feud in the stageplay script La Tinro by Rostan Yuniardi by using the study of  the sociology of literature by Ian Watt. This research type is descriptive qualitatives. Researcher found, the identity or background of the author in terms of social status and ethnic origin affect the selectionof plots and characterizations of the drama script. The reflection of people’s lives is dominated by the description of the position and responsibilities of a leader and differences in social strata. Monarchy feuds in the text tell of the position of a king who is very vulnerable by personal interests even from those closest to him.

Abstract

Abstract: Cultural Symbols in Novels Arrive Before Departure by Faisal Oddang (Charles Sanders Pierce's Semiotics Review). This study aims to describe the cultural aspects in terms of icons, indexes, and symbols in Faisal Oddang's Tiba Before Berangkat novel by studying the semiotic theory of Charles Sanders Pierce. This research is a descriptive qualitative research type. The data source for this research is the novel Arrive Before Departure by Faisal Oddang. The data of this research are quotations containing cultural aspects based on a review of Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic theory consisting of 3 signs. The data were collected using library techniques. The results showed that the cultural aspects in terms of icons, indexes and symbols are contained in Faisal Oddang's novel Tiba Before Berangkat.

Abstract

Study of Albert Camus' Absurdity in the Novel Cara Berbahagia Tanpa Kepala: Psychoanalytic Riview. This research aims to study the validity in the novel Cara Berbahagia Tanpa Kepala by Triskaidekaman based on the context of absurdity thought announced by Albert Camus with the concept of Freud. The method used is qualitative which is descriptive. Data is collected using reading and note-recording techniques. Analysis of character characters in the novel Cara Berbahagia Tanpa Kepala by Triskaidekaman which is associated with the theory of absurdity camus is about rebellion and the results of this study showed that the rebellion contained in the character characters in the novel Cara Berbahagia Tanpa Kepala by Triskaidekaman, this led them to the creation of a new meaning of happiness, in accordance with the theory of absurdity Camus later developed with the concept of Freud.

Abstract

Transformation of Ananta Prahadi  Novel by Risa Saraswati to Ananta Film Director Rizki Balki (Ecranation Study). This study aims to describe the forms of ekranisasi that experience shrinkage, addition, and change in variations in the categories of intrinsic elements, plot, figures, and settings. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study indicate that the form of ekranisasi in the form of shrinkage, addition, and change variations occur in the category of intrinsic elements of the plot, character, and background. The ekranisai process that often happens is shrinking. This resulted in changes and differences in novels and films. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the ekranisasi process occurs because of the elements that are considered not important and impossible to visualize, consideration of the duration, as well as consideration of commercial aspects.

Abstract

Abstract: Code Switching and Code Mixing in the Novel Faith and the City by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra. This study aims to describe the types and factors causing code switching and code mixing in the novel Faith and the City by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. According to results, there are three types of code mixing found are insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization types. The factors of code mixing are talking about certain topics, citing other people's conversations, emphasizing something, exclamations, repetition to clarify, clarifying the contents of the conversation to others. interlocutor, shows the identity of a group, expands or emphasizes requests or orders, lexical needs, and the efficiency of a conversation.

Abstract

Abstract: Student Attitudes towards Internship Programs in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period with a Functional Systemic Linguistic Approach. This study aims to describe data that includes a musty attitude, judgment, and appreciation of the assessment system on the speeches of Indonesian Language and Literature students Class of 2018 who have participated in internship practices. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The results of research on student speech found affective attitudes, judgments, and appreciation in the form of positive and negative speech. The results of the study were dominated by negative affect caused by the policies set on the implementation of the internship. on the attitude of judgment leads to the form of politeness in the respondent's language in policies that are motivated by the academic environment and announcing the existence of a pandemic. As well as a positive appreciation of gratitude for the benefits obtained by respondents during internships.

Abstract

Exploitation of the Subaltern in Novel Perempuan Kembang Jepun by Lan Fang (a Gayatri Spivak Postcolonial Review). This study aims to reveal forms of exploitation and violence against subalterns in Lan Fang’s novel Perempuan Kembang Jepun, seen from the postcolonial review of Gayatri Spivak. This research is qualitative descriptive. The data of this research are in the form of words, phrases, or sentences which indicate forms of exploitation and violence against subaltern characters in Lan Fang’s novel Perempuan Kembang Jepun. The results of the research are forms of exploitation of the subaltern during the colonial period, namely sexual and economic exploitation. As for the forms of violence experienced by subaltern characters in the novel, namely physical violence and psychological violence.
