Education & Learning
Education & Learning is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Medan Resource Center. The journal aims to facilitate academic articles and scholarly writings on empirical research in the field of education. The journal emphasizes the importance of appreciating the interplay of local, national, regional, and global contexts and dynamics in shaping education for learning. It covers education in its broadest sense, including both formal and non-formal modes, from preschool to adult education. It is also interested in comparative studies that explore these approaches to deepen our understanding of the relationship between education and learning. The journal is published biannually in February and August and accepts articles in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

<![CDATA[The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an effect of reward sticker picture on discipline in learning in children at PAUD Tunas Kuala, Medan Johor District?. The type used in this study is the pre-experimental method and the research design used in this study is the one group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were all children in Group B at PAUD Tunas Kuala for the 2020-2021 academic year, consisting of the blue group and the red group, totaling 30 children. The sample in this study was the children of group B class Blue, totaling 15 children consisting of 9 girls and 6 boys. Data collection tools and techniques used are observation and documentation. Based on the results of the study, the average value of the pre-test of child discipline was 60.4 and the average value of the post-test of child discipline was 79.2. Based on the results of the t test, the value of tcount > ttable is (11.65 > 2.144). Then it can be stated that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is an effect of reward sticker picture on children's discipline in learning at PAUD Tunas Kuala, Medan Johor Subdistrict for the 2020-2021 Academic Year. Thus, the hypothesis proposed that there is an effect of reward sticker picture on children's discipline in learning at PAUD Tunas Kuala Medan Johor District can be accepted as true.]]>

<![CDATA[The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an influence of motion and song on the kinesthetic intelligence of children aged 5-6 years in Chairul Athfal Belawan Kindergarten?. The research design used in this study is a one-group pretest-posttest. The population in this study were all children of group B in TK Chairul Athfal Belawan. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling where all members of the population are used as samples. The sample of this study were all children in group B in TK Chairul Athfal Belawan, totaling 15 children consisting of 8 boys and 7 girls. Data collection techniques obtained by observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used in analyzing the research data is normality test and hypothesis testing. Based on the results of the pre-test study, the average pre-test value was 9.8 and the post-test results obtained an average value of 11.9. Based on the results of the t-test calculation, it is obtained that tcount > ttable (6.49 > 2.144) with a significance value of 0.000 less than 0.05, it can be stated that Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted, which means that there is an influence of motion and song on the kinesthetic intelligence of children aged 5-6 years in TK Chairul Athfal Belawan Academic Year 2020/2021.]]>

<![CDATA[This career understanding actually aims to provide direction to students to live the next life. Here students still do not have the readiness to enter the world of work because of the limited knowledge and knowledge they have so far. However, students will attend lectures first to practice their abilities so that later they can carry out a job that has been chosen properly. This study aims to describe the career understanding of students of class XII IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Canduang.This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with 3 students as key informants and 1 BK teacher as supporting informants. In collecting data, researchers used the interview method. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data display and data verification.Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that this career understanding has been carried out well even though students still do not have the readiness to enter a world of work. In addition to understanding this career, students must also be able to understand: (1) Understanding themselves/self-understanding (2) understanding work (3) and also planning for the future. <![CDATA[The objective of the research was to determine whether there was a significant effect of the use of digital systems on the speaking skills of the students in Seventh Grade Junior High School. This research was a quantitative research with a quasy experimental design. It was conducted in seventh grade SMP Negeri 5 Tanjungbalai in the academic year 2020/2021. The total population was 93 students and researchers took 30 students for the experimental class and 30 students for the control class which meant 60 students as a total sample. In collecting data, researchers used orraly tests by speaking about the plot of the cartoon as instruments. Tests were pre-tests given before treatment and post tests given after treatment. Then, the data obtained were analyzed using t-test ar SPSS 16 with a significance level of 5% (0.05). Furthermore, the researcher found that the post –test mean score in the experimental class was higher than the control class (6.484 > 1.688). At a significant level of 5% (95% confidence level) which shows the score 18,976. The t-test result also showed that t0 (6.484) was higher than t table as a significance level of 5% (1.688). Therefore, the results of t0 > t table result that H0 (null hypothesis) was rejected and Ha (alternative hypotheiss) was accepted. The calculation of the effect size was 1.68 which was within the range of effect criteria including the strong effect. Thus, the use of the cartoon movie has a signficant effect on students’ speaking ability in the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Tanjungbalai in academic year 2020/2021.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the student’s listening improvement by using instructional media for English Song, students grade VIII MTs. Muhammadiyah 13 Tanjung Morawa. The lack of students’ listening ability through was caused by the learning condition which was not using media so that the learning process run so monotonous and it impact to the students anthusiasm. This case made the students felt boring. In order to achieve the goals that have been determined, then this study uses a two group pretest and posttest experimental research methods. The number of samples in this research were 20 students. The result of t-observed was 5.8 and t-table was 1.68 it means that t-observed higher than t-table. Because the result of t-observed is higher than t-table, it means that by using the media English songs can showed a significant affect on the improvement of listening VIII MTs. Muhammadiyah 13 Tanjung Morawa. The reseacher sincerely expected that enthusiasm are able to try and apply the appropriate media and in accordance with the material to be taught, one of them is the use of English song media for listening improvement.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this study was to get the empirical evidence of the effect of using small group discussion technique on students’ achievment in reading narrative text at the third year students of MTS AL-Washliyah 30 Pematang Guntung. The method used in this study was quantitative through quasi experimental research. The population was all the third year students of MTS AL-Washliyah 30 Pematang Guntung. The total sample was 60 students that were taken by using lecturing technique Instrument of this study was multiplechoise test. Before doing the treatment, the students in experimental class were given the pre-test. Then, the students were taught by using small group discussion technique. At the end of the treatments, the students were given a post-test. T-test was used to analyze the data. Value of tobserve is 4.75 and the degree of freedom (df) is 58, whereas the value t-table on the degree of significance of 5% is 1.67. The T-test revealed that the result is significant; it is determined by the value of t Obsever which is bigger than t table. Thus, Ha is accepted because there is significant effect of using small group discussion on students’reading narrative text ability. Therefore, it can be concluded that using small group discussion is effective to improve students reading narrative text ability at the third year students of MTS AL-Washliyah 30 Pematang Guntung.]]>

<![CDATA[Skripsi ini membahas tentang pendekatan metode Mind Mapping dalam pembelajaran Sejarah Perkembangan Demokrasi di Indonesia . Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu, Bagaimanakah Pendekataan pembelajaran Sejarah Demokrasi di Indonesia dengan menggunakan strategi Mind Mapping. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan , penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif , dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui Pendekataan pembelajaran Sejarah Demokrasi di Indonesia dengan menggunakan strategi Mind Mapping. Hasil penelitian memperoleh kesimpulan bahwa Mind Mapping dalam pembelajaran Sejarah bertujuan untuk memudahkan siswa dalam mengatur dan mengingat segala bentuk informasi baik secara tertulis maupun verbal. Keterlibatan siswa dalam membuat Mind Mapping akan membantu upaya pemahaman materi sekaligus melatih berpikir kreatif siswa. Mind Mapping sangat cocok diterapkan pada mata pelajaran Sejarah Perkembangan Demokrasi di Indonesia karena mata pelajaran tersebut memiliki cakupan yang luas dan membutuhkan hafalan yang tinggi.]]>

<![CDATA[Dalam pembelajaran penggunaan metode pembelajaran adalah satu faktor penentu berhasil tidaknya tujuan pembelajaran. Untuk menentukan metode yang tepat banyak faktor yang perlu diperhatikan agar metode yang digunakan dapat mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan UMN Al Washliyah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil belajar mahasiswa Ilmu Kealaman Dasar dengan menggunakan metode diskusi. Untuk mendapatkan data digunakan tes, bentuk tes yang digunakan adalah pilihan berganda sebanyak 20 soal dan waktu yang disediakan untuk menjawab soal selama 60 menit. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan statistik uji-t pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh harga t hitung = 3,14 dan t tabel = 2,00 (t hitung > t tabel) pada taraf kepercayaan 95 %. Dengan demikian data penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh hasil belajar mahasiswa Ilmu Kealaman Dasar dengan menggunakan metode diskusi.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of the research is to find out the effect of applying snowball throwing on the student’s vocabulary mastery of SMA Swasta Rakyat Pancur Batu at tenth grade academic year 2021/2022. This research was used experimental research. The population were 40 students of two classes. The researcher using class X IPA 1 and X IPA 2 as the sample. Class X IPA 1 as the experimental group and X IPA 2 as the control group. The experimental group was taught and treatment by snowball throwing and control group without snowball throwing model. The instrument used to collect data in this research was test there are pre-test and post-test. The researcher found that there was a significant difference between the students? score in experimental group and control group. It was known by the mean score of the post-test in experimental group was higher than mean score of post-test in control group. The value of the t-observed 9.26 was higher than t-table 1.68 at the level of significant 0.05 with degree of freedom (df)=40. Based on the result of this research, the The researcher found that there are the significant effect of applying snowball throwing on the student’s vocabulary mastery of SMA Swasta Rakyat Pancur Batu at tenth grade.]]>
