Martahi: Pesan Moral dalam Tradisi Lisan Masyarakat Mandailing Rudiansyah Siregar

Sumatera Utara merupakan masyarakat multi etnis. Populasi etnis terbesar adalah Batak yang terbagi ke beberapa sub etnis salah satunya adalah Mandailing yang berada di Kawasan Tapanuli Selatan, Sumatera bagian Tenggara. Komunitas Mandailing secara umum adalah masyarakat yang sangat peka dan peduli terhadap nilai-nilai adat di setiap rutinitas kehidupan. Adapun yang menjadi latar belakang topik kajian ini adalah sebuah tradisi lisan di tengah komunitas masyarakat Mandailing yang disebut dengan martahi. Sebuah prosesi adat yang dilaksanakan ketika ada masyarakat yang akan melaksanakan horja atau pesta yang biasa disebut Suhut, maka seluruh anggota keluarga akan bermusyawarah kepada para tetua adat menyampaikan maksud sekaligus meminta bantuan untuk kemudian disampaikan kepada masyarakat. Pelaksanaan martahi adalah sebelum dilaksanakannya upacara perkawinan sebagai bagian dari persiapan horja. Martahi menjadi momen yang sangat penting dalam pernikahan masyarakat Mandailing ketika ingin menikahkan anaknya. Martahi sebagai tradisi musyawarah dan tolong menolong bertujuan untuk mendapatkan bantuan untuk kebutuhan acara pernikahan. Dalam pelaksanaan martahi, suhut akan mengundang kerabat dan masyarakat desa. Sarana wacana yang akan dijadikan kajian dalam penelitian ini berasal dari teks hobar, yaitu pesan yang disampaikan secara lisan dengan cara monolog, berpidato, dan berpantun serta pesan moral yang luas dan memiliki filosofi. Pesan moral akan digali dalam penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Mandailing memiliki nilai-nilai yang kuat dalam membangun komunikasi dan kerjasama. Sangat teliti dalam menentukan pilihan serta menjunjung tinggi budaya dan mampu melahirkan pesan moral yang bermanfaat di setiap lini kehidupan.

This study aims to describe the analysis of the analytical exposition text structure in the editorial of a daily newspaper analysis.This study used descriptive qualitative method. The source of the data is daily editorial analysis for the months of July, August, and September 2021. The data collection technique in this study is a literature study by collecting literature sources. The data analysis technique used in this study is data that has been collected by researchers from data sources. In the data analysis, the researcher uses data analysis with data reduction methods (data reduction), data presentation (data display) and conclusions (verification) in Sugiyono (2017:247-252). Data reduction method (data reduction) is a form of analysis that sharpens, categorizes, directs, discards unnecessary, and organizes data in such a way that the final conclusions can be examined and verified. Phase of presenting data (data display) is an activity of making research results that have been carried out so that the data collected can be understood and analyzed in accordance with the desired goals. The conclusion (verification) is the idea reached at the end or the result of the conversation.Thus, the analytical exposition text structure in the daily newspaper editorial analysis proves that the editorial can be analyzed based on structure and language so that the editorial reader can understand more deeply about the problems that occur.

Umpasa dalam Ritual Saur Matua Budaya Batak Toba (kajian semiotika) Lamria Romaito Sidabutar; Rosmawaty Harahap; Elly Prihasti Wuriyani

Toba Batak culture has a variety of unique and distinctive cultural riches. This can be seen from the cultural elements that are different from other cultures. One of the Toba Batak cultural traditions that is still preserved today, namely Umpasa. The richness of the Toba Batak culture still exists today. Umpasa is an oral tradition in the form of rhymes used by the Toba Batak cultural community to convey messages in the form of wishes, hopes, and other life values. This Toba Batak oral literature is used by local people on certain occasions. One of them is Umpasa in the Saur Matua ritual. In this context, Umpasa saur matua expresses the feelings experienced and expresses compassion for the events that occurred. In addition, the umpasa used also contains various values, such as religious values, namely the presence of God in life, family values, namely in conveying the umpasa there is a family relationship seen from the family line, and the value of deliberation, namely upholding mutual respect between relatives.

Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Pair Check untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Menulis Puisi Siswa Kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Samalantan Lili Yanti; Nela Yusta

This research is motivated by the low score of students' writing. This research is focused on analyzing the material of poetry building elements using a pair check type cooperative learning model. This research model is descriptive with a qualitative form. This research was carried out in 2 cycles. Each cycle is carried out 1 meeting. The procedure for implementing this research consists of planning, action, observing and reflecting on the results of the activities. The percentage result in the implementation of learning cycle 1 is 69.07% and in cycle 2 is 73.68%. There is an increase in the results of the implementation of learning as much as 4, 61%. Furthermore, the achievement of student learning outcomes in cycle I the average value is 71.19%, in cycle 2 it reaches 84.28%. There is an increase in the achievement of student learning outcomes as much as 13.09%.

This study aimed to develop socio-cultural-based LKPD teaching materials in understanding short story material to improve HOTS for class XI SMA. The research method used 4-D Research and Development by Thiagarajan that consists of four stages, namely define, design, development, and dissemination. This study is limited to the development stage, due to the current pandemic situation so it cannot be carried out for the dissemination stage. Data was collected using research instrument techniques to assess the validity of the products that have been developed, in the form of a validation questionnaire to be assessed by material experts in the form of content, construction, language aspects and design experts in the form of writing display aspects, image display, LKPD functions, and LKPD benefits. The assessment of the material aspect got an overall score of 90% with the "Very Good" criteria, means that the product is feasible and valid to be tested in small groups and large groups, thus the material can be a prototype of socio-cultural based short story worksheets. The design aspect assessment gave an assessment of 98.5% with the criteria of "Very Good", means that the product is feasible and valid to be tested by small groups and large groups, so from the design aspect it can become a prototype of socio-cultural-based short story worksheets. Thus, the overall socio-cultural-based short story LKPD is categorized as very good.

Pengembangan Teks Eksplanasi sebagai Bahan Ajaran Melalui Pendekatan Genre Expository dengan Media Visual di Kelas XI SMA Meily Indriani; Liesna Andriany; Deliani; Ratna Soraya; Nila Safina

This study aimed to develop an expository writing text module with an expository genre approach. The study used the 4D research and development method by Thiagarajan. The stages of this research method arecarried out at the stage of defining, designing, and developing without conducting the dissemination stage. The data consisted of primary and secondary data. The secondary data were taken from articles from relevant previous studies, and books. While the primary data are taken directly from expertsin the formo fan assessment of teaching material products. The study used the documentation techniques. The study used questionnaire to collect data. Then the collected data will be analyzed byusing the data analysis technique of Miles and Huberman. Through the assessmen to material experts, the resulting module received a final score of 3.88 as very validcriteria, and the overall average score of the product design assessment by design experts was 3.67 as very valid criteria. Based on these results, it is concluded that the prototype of the explanatory text writing module with visual media developed is valid and feasible to be tested for the next stage, namely the dissemination stage.

The purpose of this study was to analyze directive speech acts in the interaction of traders and buyers at the Kebun Kelapa market, Beringin sub-district, Deli Serdang district. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Research data collection was carried out using a listening technique using the help of recording equipment and notes as well as interviewing buyers and traders. There are six types of directive speech acts used in the speech of traders and buyers, namely 39 types of question speech acts, 15 requests speech acts, 6 permission speech acts, 2 prohibited speech acts, 1 advice speech acts, and 1 speech acts. command 5. The most common type of directive speech act found is the type of question speech act. The speech act of questioning is most widely used by both the buyer and the seller to ask for prices, types of goods, models, and others. There are four types of commissive speech acts used in the utterances of buyers and sellers, namely the speech act of offering as many as 12, swearing speech acts 1, promising speech acts 4, and vowing speech acts 1

This study aims to describe the description of the value of education in the novel Rantau 1 Muara by A Fuaddi. The data of this study is a description of the value of education in terms of the value of divine education, the value of moral education, the value of social education, the value of cultural education and the value of aesthetic education. The method used is descriptive method with qualitative analysis by describing the description of the value of education in the novel Rantau 1 Muara by A Fuaddi with an educational value approach. This method is based on consideration of the suitability of the research form with the research objectives. The research instrument was carried out by means of a documentation study. Documentation study was conducted on the novel Rantau 1 Muara by A Fuaddi with an educational value approach. The purpose of this research is to find imagery in William Allingham poems. The method used in analysis this research is descriptive qualitative and technique analyzing data. The analysis of the imagery is intended to deliver a message from the author in order to feel what is felt by the senses of the author contained in his poetry. In addition, the imagery is intended to enable the reader to obtain a concrete picture of what the author or poet wants to convey. Based on research conducted, there are five imagery contained in William Allingham's poem with the title ‘’A Dream, The Eviction and Robin Redbreast” those are visual, tactile, auditory, gustatory and olfactory imagery.

Abstract This Research described the application of the example non example method in learning Indonesian in class C of the S-1 Nursing Science Study Program at STIKes Bina Sehat PPNI Mojokerto. The material for preparing reports on community service activities was a series of language learning materials that had been prepared by the lecturer in the semester learning plan. In learning activities, students were required to always be active and creative. In addition, the role of the lecturer as one of the components of learning becomed very important and must be able to apply and develop learning methods appropriately. Through the example non example method, students can be directly and actively involved and can think critically in the learning process, thus making the learning atmosphere more fun and meaningful. This research used a type of field research (field research) with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques included observation and documentation. The data analysis carried out by the researcher was as follows: (1) data reduction. This activity includes selecting data on the basis of its level of relevance and relation to data groups, compiling data in similar units, and creating codes. (2) displaying data by compiling relevant data, (3) drawing conclusions to get a meaning of scattered symptoms to have deep meaning. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that the implementation of the example non example method has been going well. students can compile reports on the results of community service activities more regularly and systematically.
