Abstract

This research aims to depict the changes in values and norms within the family structure of the indigenous community of Negeri Hatusua following the introduction of smartphones and the internet. The research employs a qualitative methodology, utilizing in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. Previous studies have indicated that the internet and smartphones can alter values and norms within societies. This study functions as a supporting contribution to prior findings, affirming that a shift in values and norms indeed takes place within the Negeri Hatusua community during this digital era, coinciding with the penetration of smartphones and the internet. Community participants, who previously leaned towards face-to-face communication for interaction and sharing crucial information, are transforming indirect communication patterns. This shift is attributed to the availability of smartphones that facilitate indirect communication. The study provides further insights into social changes within the indigenous community concerning digital technology, focusing on shifts in social interaction and traditional values.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative study that aims to understand the utilization of village funds in the implementation of development programs in Poka Village, Teluk Ambon Sub-district, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of these development programs in Poka Village, Teluk Ambon Sub-district. There were 10 informants in this research, selected using a purposive technique. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and documentation, and the analysis technique used the interactive analysis model by Miles and Huberman, involving data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results indicate that the utilization of village funds in the implementation of development programs in Poka Village has been effective. This is evidenced by the number of development programs that have been realized according to the development plan set by the village government through Musrembang (village development planning process). The community's involvement in utilizing village funds in Poka Village has been quite good, as the community has been engaged in the development plan formulation and the implementation of programs.

Abstract

This article aims to describe efforts to increase village revenue by harnessing the tourism potential in Negeri Latuhalat, Ambon City. This research employs a qualitative research approach with in-depth interview techniques and direct observation to gather data. The research findings indicate that Negeri Latuhalat possesses natural, cultural, and historical wealth that has not been fully utilized for tourism development. Through the analysis of existing potentials, infrastructure development efforts, the design of sustainable tourism programs, and active engagement of the local community, it is anticipated that Village Original Revenue (VOR) can be significantly enhanced. This article outlines specific steps that can be taken to implement tourism innovations aimed at creating positive impacts on the village economy and local community. Consequently, this article provides crucial guidance for policymakers, business actors, and academics interested in advancing the tourism potential and village economy in Negeri Latuhalat and its surrounding region.

Abstract

The article aims to describe the reasons, actions and meanings of using face filters or augmented reality. This research uses a phenomenological approach and uses and gratification theory. These concepts and theories can understand social action through interpretations that can be used to clarify or examine the real meaning, so as to provide an implicit concept of sensitivity and know that audiences have certain needs or urges that can be fulfilled by using media sources. Therefore, this study took a sample of 2019 Communication Science students who were randomly selected and were active Instagram users measured based on the vulnerable time users access Instagram. This data collection technique was carried out through interviews, observations, documentation studies, and literature studies, as well as questionnaires. The results of this study are, teenagers use Instagram filters based on effective, reputation and existence motives. With these motives, users take action. the actions taken are also different according to the desired motives of Instagram filter users. Furthermore, users interpret their actions as life satisfaction.

Abstract

This research explores the pivotal role of social exchange in shaping sustainable partnerships between vegetable farmers and customers in Dusun Wayari. Within the framework of a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews as the research method, this study identifies two primary dimensions of social relations within the vegetable agribusiness system in Dusun Wayari: the associative dimension and the disassociative dimension. The research findings indicate that social exchange plays a central role in establishing close relationships between vegetable farmers and customers. During the process of ordering and harvesting vegetables, the interdependence between farmers and customers serves as a strong foundation for mutually beneficial social relations. Farmers provide high-quality products, while customers offer financial support and long-term commitment. This study underscores that social relations based on social exchange play a key role in creating sustainable partnerships in the vegetable agribusiness. In addition to benefiting farmers and customers, these relations also contribute to the collective well-being within the local community. Therefore, a deeper understanding of social relations within this agribusiness system has the potential to provide valuable insights and practical guidance for the development of sustainable business models in agriculture and other local business sectors.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the representation of toxic masculinity in the film "Seperti Dendam, Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas" through the main male character and film scenes. The film analysis of "Seperti Dendam, Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas" employs the semiotic data analysis technique using John Fiske's model. There are three levels of coding in this model: the level of reality, the level of representation, and the level of ideology. The research findings indicate that the representation of toxic masculinity portrayed by the main character at the level of reality is evident in the category of costumes, as seen in Ajo Kawir's simple attire. The level of representation code depicting toxic masculinity is displayed through cinematography techniques such as medium shots, close-ups, two shots, and over-the-shoulder shots. The ideology level observed is the high individualism of Ajo Kawir, who exhibits a sense of superiority, acts in his self-interest, and is stubborn. The toxic masculinity of the main character is influenced by past traumas and the patriarchal society depicted through John Fiske's semiotic model. The level of reality of social codes is conveyed through costumes, speech styles, and expressions. The level of representation of social codes is presented through camera work and lighting. The level of ideology of social codes is depicted through actions, dialogues, and character traits.

Abstract

This article discusses the failure of female legislative candidates from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) in the 2019 Legislative General Election in Ambon City. This research employs a qualitative approach with an explanatory research method. The research findings reveal that this failure can be attributed to several key factors. First, party recruitment and cadreship have not been optimally executed, leading to inadequate preparation for female candidates. Second, the political leadership of women within the party remains minimal, resulting in a lack of support and opportunities for female candidates. Third, the prominence of female figures is also limited, leading to reduced appeal and influence for female candidates. Finally, a low social base diminishes the electability potential of female candidates. The results of this research provide crucial insights into the role of women in politics within a local context and highlight the need for improvements in party recruitment, cadreship, and support for female candidates. Additionally, this study underscores the importance of employing an explanatory qualitative approach in analyzing political and gender-related issues.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study is about the Village Allocation Fund (ADD) Policy in Preventing Social Disparities in Tawiri Village, Teluk Ambon District. The aim is to understand how the ADD policy prevents social disparities in Tawiri Village. The study was conducted at the Tawiri Village Office, using a qualitative descriptive methodology. The types of data used were primary and secondary, and data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. The focus of this study includes: 1) improving the quality of human resources, 2) providing equal access to all members of the community, 3) optimizing the management and utilization of resources, and 4) promoting even development and creating job opportunities. The results of this study indicate that the ADD policy in Tawiri Village has a positive impact on the improvement of human resources. Similarly, the ADD policy in Tawiri Village can provide access to all members of the community. Furthermore, the ADD policy in Tawiri Village can be well optimized through its management. Additionally, the ADD policy in Tawiri Village has a positive impact on even development and is capable of creating job opportunities.

Abstract

This research describes the implementation and criteria of the Decent Housing Assistance Program in Sulabesi Tengah District, Kepulauan Sula, North Maluku. Through a structured qualitative descriptive approach, the researcher utilized several data collection methods. This includes direct field observations to understand the dynamics of the implementation, in-depth interviews with various stakeholders, and detailed analysis of official documents and related reports. The integration of data from newly obtained primary sources and existing secondary data provides a comprehensive overview of the ongoing situation. The findings indicate that this assistance program has been effective in providing solutions for low-income communities, evidenced by its success in aspects of socialization, evaluation processes, and meeting beneficiary requirements. However, there are challenges and obstacles in its implementation, such as administrative and logistical constraints. Therefore, this study not only offers insights into the current reality but also presents strategic recommendations focused on enhancing the sustainability and effectiveness of the program for optimal future implementation.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the level of community participation in development in the Barakkae Village, Lamuru District, Bone Regency. In this study, the author employs a descriptive method using a qualitative approach. The research was conducted in Barakkae Village, Lamuru District, Bone Regency, with primary data collected from 8 individuals. Data collection techniques involved field studies, literature reviews, and included observations, in-depth interviews, as well as documentation. The research took place over a period of 1 month. The findings of this research indicate that community participation in human resource development in Barakkae Village, Lamuru District, Bone Regency, is not entirely consistent with the views expressed by Cohen and Uphoff in 1977. Barriers to community participation in human resource development in Barakkae Village can be identified, particularly in decision-making, where there appears to be a lack of space provided by the village to accommodate the aspirations of the community. Efforts to overcome barriers to human resource development include the provision of proposal repositories, especially on a priority scale, involving the participation of village officials who encourage community involvement on a voluntary basis.
