Abstract

Puncak Dulamayo Nature Tourism, which is located in Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province, is one of the favorite tourist attractions since it opened at the end of 2017. However, it was not well managed and organized, the location lacked several facilities such as inadequate parking space, lack of lodging, landscape furniture was still very lacking, there were no playground facilities for children and other facilities. This research aims to arrange of the Dulamayo peak natural tourism area were carried out by applying the principles of Tropical Architecture, by utilizing contoured land. This study used descriptive qualitative and quantitative research methods. Collecting data through literature review and direct observation in the field and interviews. The data was collected using literature review, interviews, and direct observation in the field. The results showed that the concept of managing and organizing the Puncak Dulamayo Nature Tourism destination with the principles of Tropical Architecture could be used as a reference in developing the Puncak Dulamayo Nature Tourism Area as one of the natural tourism destinations which could become a tourism attraction in Gorontalo Province.

Abstract

The low interest of prospective students in study programs at universities could be influenced by internal factors within the study program. These factors become the main variables in assessing the condition of the study program. For this reason, it is necessary to classify the internal conditions of the study program. A good method is needed in terms of accuracy and minimal misclassification to obtain the final classification results of the assessment. The purpose of this research is to classify the internal conditions of the study program. Classification of the internal conditions of the study program was carried out using the Naive Bayes Classifier (NBC) method which is a simple form of Bayesian Network with the assumption that all features are independent of each other. The NBC method shows an overall superior performance in terms of accuracy and misclassification rate. The NBC method can be used to determine the internal conditions of the study program, which could help identify factors that need to be addressed to increase the interest of prospective students enrolling in the study program.

Abstract

According to existing data, stunting in Pohuwato Regency prevalence is still high, hence the plan for a stunting-free house is needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the description and the influencing factors to find a strategy for planning a stunting-free house. So that the planning of this stunting-free house can fulfill the needs of village development as well as supporting the Pohuwato government stunting-free program. This research is a retrospective study with a case-control design. Data were collected by semi-structured interviews with mothers of children under five using questionnaire sheets. There are 7 (seven) samples in each case group. From the results of the study, it was found that 3 (three) dominant factors were in the houses of stunting sufferers which could be used as a reference for stunting-free house designs. The most dominant indicator is the land indicator in the OC:BC comparison assessment and the use of the front of the house border. The second indicator that is very dominantly influential is the condition of the sanitation system and the height of the floor slab. The third influential factor is user activity with the assessment of natural lighting systems for stunting-free homes.

Abstract

Garbage collection locations scattered at various points often make it difficult for citizens to find the nearest garbage collection location. Therefore, it is necessary to provide media that could help the public in finding the nearest garbage collection location. This study aims to design a geographic information system of garbage collection locations in the Pohuwato Regency area. This system will utilize tools that could be accessed for free, namely Google Maps so that the locals readily access the information needed. The method used in this research was a descriptive method. The results showed that people in Pohuwato Regency could find garbage collection locations in each sub-district which was detected through the geographic information system and thus made it easier for people to find the nearest garbage collection point.

Abstract

Communication between members of the community within the Neighborhood Association (RT) is often hampered due to the activities of each resident, making it difficult for the residents to share important information with each other. This study aims to build a mobile-based application as a communication medium for citizens in the RT environment. The research method used is the waterfall system development method which includes requirements analysis and definition, system and software design, implementation and unit testing, integration and system testing, and operation and maintenance. The results show that the mobile-based E-Warga Application can be used as a communication medium for citizens. The mobile-based E-Warga application helps the public to share important information, access various services and information needed.

Abstract

Changes in flow direction due to drag and lift forces that hit the Archimedes Spiral hydrokinetic turbine is a problem that could affect turbine performance, hence, it is important to add a flow steering system. This study aims to determine the effect of adding a flow guide system in the form of a truncated cone and tail guide on the performance of the Archimedes Spiral turbine. The method used is experimental tests on turbine performance using several variations of flow velocity in open channels. The results of the study show that the Archimedes Spiral turbine with a flow guide system produces a Cp value of 0.19–0.22 and a TSR value of 1.76–1.85. The torque value obtained is in the range of 0.013–0.017 Nm within the range of 28.64–33.60 RPM. The addition of a truncated cone was able to increase the flow capture force. The addition of a guide tail could forward the vortex flow lengthwise to the downstream of the turbine. The forwarded vortex flow inhibits the rotation of the turbine blades and causes the compressive force on the turbine to increase. The increased compression force on the blade caused the torque value to increase. In the Archimedes Spiral turbine with the addition of a flow steering system, the increased torque caused the concept drag force to be higher than the concept of lift force. The addition of a truncated cone and guide tail increased the performance of the Archimedes Spiral turbine.

Abstract

The Polohungo Micro-hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) in Polohungo village, Tolangohula District, Gorontalo Regency has several components, namely intake, headrace, forebay, tailrace, penstock, turbines, mechanical equipment systems, mechanical transmission systems, and generators. The increase of demand for electrical power and the limited capacity of the generator was causing suboptimal plant operation. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the 40 kW PLTMH against the electrical load in Polohungo Village, Gorontalo Regency. The evaluation stage began with the calculation of the technical parameter data of the equipment, which was then compared with parameters obtained from measurement. The evaluation results show that the overall condition of the main components such as generators, turbines, and the generator control system was still working well even though there was no history of maintenance. There was a power difference of 12.212 kW or 55.03% between the real-world generated power and theoretically calculated power based on turbine design water flow. Therefore, PLTMH Polohungo was not operating optimally when handling small-scale power loads, where the amount of power generated by theoretical calculations is greater than the amount of power generated when the generator is operating with a water flow rate of 0.02865 m3/second.

Abstract

The performance assessment of Civil Servants at the Bengkulu Province Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Service (Diskominkotik) process has utilized an e-performance application. However, the assessment of daily workers' performance is not included, which means evaluating their performance and competence would take a long time. This study aims to determine daily workers to get the best performance rewards using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The research method used was the waterfall method, supported by data from observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Unified Modeling Language (UML) was used to analyze and design the system and in the coding stage, Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 software connected to a MySQL database was used, and in the testing stage, a Black-box testing approach was employed. The results showed that the implementation of the SAW method in the decision support system application could speed up the process of evaluating the performance of daily workers at Bengkulu Province Diskominkotik. Furthermore, daily workers’ performance appraisal became more objective because it involves the participation of many parties so that the results of the best daily worker employee performance appraisal can be accepted by various parties.

Abstract

Light brick waste is fragments or pieces of scrap leftover during the installation of lightweight bricks which are often allowed to pile up and becoming garbage in the surrounding area. The waste is difficult to recycle and has a very low selling value. This study aims to assess the compressive strength of mixed composition concrete specimens using lightweight brick waste on the quality of K-250 concrete aged 7 days as a mixture of fine aggregate concrete so that it becomes a product that has better-added value for the community. The research method used in this research is SNI for concrete based on data from literature and the test was carried out in the UNISLA laboratory. The results showed that the use of a 0% mixture of lightweight brick waste resulted in compressive strength of 21.78 Mpa, 3% mixture yielded compressive strength of 18.87 Mpa, 5% mixture yielded compressive strength of 24.39 Mpa, and 7% mixture yielded compressive strength of 26.00 Mpa.

Abstract

Concrete-faced rockfill dam (CFRD) has a similar weakness to other types of dams, namely deformation. Surface movement monuments can be used to monitor the deformation that occurs on the surface of the dam. Analysis of the monument's measurement data can show settlement and displacement trends that are closely related to the deformation of the dam itself. In this research, the monuments measurement data are compared to acceptance criteria from ICOLD, Sowers, Clements, Fell, and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing as outlined in the Guidelines for The Design and Construction of Concrete Membrane Stone Backfill Dams. This study aims to analyze data from surface movement monuments to determine the settlement and displacement of the dam based on the criteria of deformation. According to the obtained result, the first segment of surface monuments settlement values ranged from 0.028 to 0.165%, which meet the majority of the criteria. In addition, displacement values at the first segment of surface movement monuments were within 0.022 – 0.071%, which meets the ICOLD and Clements criteria. Meanwhile, for the second to fourth segments of surface movement monuments, settlement values of 0.007 – 0.102% were obtained, which still conform to the ICOLD and Fell criteria.
