Abstract

Almost all developments of transportation facilities and infrastructure have positive and negative impacts on the ecological environment, social, and economic, such as the construction of rail lines and Light Rapid Transit (LRT) stations. The construction of rail lines and Light Rapid Transit (LRT) stations, both surface and elevated, has had various effects on the ecological environment, social and economic both during pre-construction, construction, and post-construction. The purpose of this paper is to identify the ecological environmental impacts due to green open space used for the construction of LRT rail lines and stations, especially the Jabodebek LRT line phase 1 in the city of Jakarta. This research was conducted by collecting data on the planning and construction of the 26 KM-long phases 1 rail line and LRT station. for the construction of rail lines and LRT station buildings. The results of the study show that with the rail pattern (elevated rail) it is possible to minimize the green open space used for the construction of rails and LRT stations. This study also recommends landscape proposals with vertical gardens on rail support pillars and station buildings as a substitute for some of the used green open space.

Abstract

Pavement is a hard layer of skin (surface) that is placed on a soil formation after the completion of earthworks, or it can also be defined as a structure that separates the wheels of the vehicle from the subgrade. Road damage is a condition where the structural and functional roads are no longer able to provide optimal service to the traffic that crosses the road. Claret road, which is located in East Penfui Village, Kupang Regency, is the main route that connects several hamlets in East Penfui Village, namely hamlets 3, 4 and 5. Within these hamlets there are densely packed housing. Damage is starting to appear on this road from Sta 0–Sta 800. Visible damage includes longitudinal cracks, crocodile skin cracks, curling, loose grains, holes, poor drainage, and low quality of driving comfort. Using the asphal institute method, an average condition value of 54.86 was obtained, requiring additional types of patch and layer handling.

Abstract

The Eklesia Mokdale Church located in East Rote Village suffered significant damage during the Seroja tropical cyclone. This church is the result of self-help which was also built independently by the people in the village. Even though quite a lot of men who live their work as builders, it turns out that there are still many who do not understand the concepts and steps for making buildings that are structurally strong, against earthquakes and strong winds. With this training, it is hoped that the community will understand and be able to build structurally strong buildings against earthquakes and strong winds.

Abstract

Nusantara architecture ('original' Indonesian architecture) has differences and similarities compared to European Architecture. One of the reasons for this difference is the geographical and climatology conditions of Indonesia which is located on the equator line has 2 seasons, namely the rainy season and the dry season. While the European continent is located above the equator, divided into northern, western, eastern and central Europe and most European countries have 4 seasons in a year, namely spring, summer, autumn and winter. Geographical and climatology differences coupled with differences in living patterns and behavior as well as the culture of the people, cause differences in the mindset of Archipelago Architecture from European Architecture. The oral tradition left many of the noble cultural values of the Indonesian people behind the written traditions of European culture, coupled with the Dutch colonial rule that made the European mindset be practiced in the world of modern Indonesian architecture today. There is a lack of writing and research related to the Nusantara mindset which inspire this paper to examines the elements and design principles of Nisantara Architecture in an exploratory and speculative way compared to the European mindset. The objective of the research is to identify the applicability and inapplicability of design elements and principles of European-classic architecture in the Batak Karo architectural environment.

Abstract

Rusunawa (Rumah Susun Sederhana Sewa) merupakan bangunan bertingkat yang dibangun dalam suatu lingkungan terbagi atas bagian-bagian yang distrukturkan secara fungsional dalam arah horizontal ataupun vertical yang masing-masing dapat disewakan dan digunakan sebagai hunian, yang dilengkapi bagian Bersama, benda Bersama dan tanah Bersama. Di Indonesia pembangunan rusunawa bertujuan memberi hunian layak dan terjangkau bagi Masyarakat Berpenghasilan Rendah (MBR). Rumah Susun Klender merupakan salah satu rusun tertua di Indonesia. Rusunawa ini dibangun tahun 1979 sampai 1980-an, rusun mulai dihuni pemiliknya tahun 1984. Seiring berjalanya waktu kondisi rusunawa yang sudah termakan usia mengalamai penurunan kualitas bangunan dan lingkungan sudah tidak layak dan tidak sehat seperti awal pembangunan. Pada studi kasus rusunawa klender memiliki permasalahan ekologis baik fisik maupun non-fisik, untuk memperbaiki serta meningkatkan kondisi bangunan, sarana pendukung lainya melalui prinsip-prinsip ekologis. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperbaiki dan meningkatkan kualitas bangunan serta lingkungan yang lebih sehat dan nyaman dengan menerapkan prinsip-prinsip ekologis.

Abstract

Spillway is a structure in a dam designed to drain excess water into a downstream river. The purpose of this study was to determine the water level in the stepped and ladderless chutes and to determine the type of flow that occurs in the stepped and non-stepped chutes. The research method is a laboratory experiment and the data obtained is based on the results of observations made at the Hydraulics Laboratory of the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar. After passing through the launcher building, the water level in the 1st aperture ladder launcher is 2.7 cm, 2.9 cm in the 2nd opening, 2.9 cm in the 3rd opening. The water level in the ladderless launcher at the 1st opening is 3 cm, at the second opening is 3.5 cm, at the 3rd opening is 3.9 cm so that it can be concluded that the shape of the launcher structure influences the water level, thus the water level at ladderless launcher is larger than ladderless launcher. After passing through the launcher building, the Reynolds number on the stepped launcher with the 1st opening is 8301, on the 2nd opening is 8811, on the 3rd opening is 9061. to 3 of 26,103.

Abstract

Evolusi zaman pada karya arsitektur memiliki keunikan tersendiri yang khas dan tidak akan terulang kembali, dimana kekhasan tersebut menjadi suatu nilai warisan sejarah budaya yang membentuk identitas suatu tempat. Seperti halnya gaya arsitektur pada era kolonial Belanda yang memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap perkembangan arsitektur kota-kota besar di Indonesia, misalnya bangunan heritage. Namun pada kenyataanya, bangunan heritage di kota-kota besar Indonesia sendiri telah banyak mengalami perubahan, baik secara fisik spasial maupun fungsionalnya sebagai dampak dari meningkatnya kebutuhan manusia. Perubahan tersebut apabila tidak disertai dengan kesadaran terhadap pentingnya pelestarian cagar budaya akan menjadi tidak terkendali hingga menyebabkan perubahan total hingga hilangnya benda cagar budaya sebagai bukti sejarah dan identitas bangsa. Demikian pula yang terjadi di Kota Bandung, khususnya Kawasan Simpang Lima sebagai titik penting dan embrio kota. Bangunan-bangunan di kawasan tersebut memiliki penyikapan khusus yang khas terhadap pola-pola sekitarnya yang ikut membentuk wajah kota. Namun, sangat disayangkan dari lima sudut di Simpang Lima, saat ini hanya tersisa tiga bangunan heritage. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif melalui pendekatan interpretasi berlandaskan teori. Analisis dilakukan dengan mengamati bentuk fisik, spasial, dan tata elemen guna dapat memberikan solusi desain mengenai bangun arsitektur yang tetap memperhatikan nilai budaya. Berdasarkan penelitian, untuk itu perlu dilakukan usaha pelestarian untuk menjaga dan mempertahankan nilai-nilainya sebagai kawasan heritage.

Abstract

Drainage functions as a series of waterworks that function to reduce or remove excess water from an area or land, so that the land can function optimally. Hamlet 1 is one of the hamlets in East Penfui Village, with an area of 49.47 ha. This hamlet is quite busy with students living because it is located between 2 major campuses in Kupang, namely Nusa Cendana University and Widya Mandira Catholic University Kupang. This hamlet has not been equipped with adequate drainage channels so that during the rainy season there are floods and result in standing water at several points which is quite disturbing to road users and the surrounding community. Therefore, it is necessary to know the magnitude of the planned discharge so that it can determine the dimensions of the channel to overcome the problem of inundation that occurs. From the results of planning the drainage system is divided into 2 primary canals with the notation SP1 and SP2, the P1 channel is 2300 m long and the P2 channel is 600 m long. Calculating the intensity of rainfall using the mononobe formula, with a concentration time of 3.16 hours, the rainfall intensity for the 5 year return period is 30.74 mm. By using the rational method, it is obtained that the planned debit is 2.67 m3/s, in the planning of the drainage system there must be different channel dimensions based on the water discharge flowing through the channel itself. With a planned flood discharge of 24.75 m3/s, the smallest canal has a width dimension of 0.4 m and a height of 0.8 m on the secondary channel while the largest is 0.6 m wide and 1.2 m high on the primary canal, and Infiltration wells have a diameter of 2 m with a depth of. Provided that Q plan < channel discharge. Drainage planning uses a square-shaped channel with precast concrete materials, namely U-ditch channels and calvert box culverts.

Abstract

Worldwide, urban centers have continued to see exceptional increase in spatial urban growth since more than 50 years ago in the majority of emerging countries. Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, is hardly discussed despite being one of the cities in Nigeria that is quickly urbanizing. In order to establish a justification for good governance in the pursuit of environmental sustainability, the article examines challenges related to urban growth and environmental sustainability in the Osogbo Capital Territory. Four Hundred and Fifty (450) questionnaires were distributed among the residents of six (6) residential areas and 384 questionnaires were retrieved, representing 85.33%, ergo judged fit for analysis of this study. Using a Stratified Random Sampling Techniques in order to ensure a fair representation of different socio-economic groups in Osogbo, Primary Data were obtained from field surveys with the administration of questionnaires across the Three (3) neighborhood strata to include: Core Area, Intermediate Area and New Areas. A pilot survey was conducted to test the reliability of the research instruments which paved the way for the refinement of the final questionnaire. The study used the severity index test of association, mean weighted score, and percentage-based descriptive methodology. The analysis's findings indicated that urban population growth had a big impact on environmental sustainability in terms of the state of the infrastructure and facilities, people's satisfaction with the facilities that are currently available, and the environmental issues in the neighborhood that was chosen. In order to maintain our cities and ensure the future well-being of inhabitants, the paper consequently advises proper methods of crucial policies to be held in order to achieve sustainable development, as this will further promote sustainability of Nigerian cities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memaparkan pentingnya meningkatkan kewaspadaan akan bahaya yang terjadi pada jaringan jalan yang tidak dapat kita ketahui kapan terjadinya. Tak jarang bencana alam sering menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan yang kompleks dari kemacetan di sepanjang ruas jalan hingga korban jiwa yang diakibatkan oleh bencana alam seperti terjadinya gempa bumi, banjir dan cuaca buruk yang mengintimidasi di sepanjang ruas jalan yang ada di Kabupaten Trenggalek. Dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif penelitian ini menapaki langkah awal dengan membuat union (gabungan beberapa lapisan data input menjadi satu) kebencanaan pada Qgis sebagai analisis kemudian dilakukan rasterize (mengubah data vector (simpul dan jalur) menjadi pixel (raster) dan akhirnya dilakukan pembobotan (skoring) untuk tingkat bahaya maka akan diketahui tingkat kerawanan bencana dengan predikat very low, low, medium, high dan very high. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan masyarakat dapat berupaya untuk mengurangi adanya akibat yang ditimbulkan oleh bencana alam yang mengintai saat melintasi ruas jalan yang berpotensi menimbulkan bahaya. Selain itu, dengan pemberian peringatan tanda bahaya akan bencana di jalan juga menjadi rambu-rambu yang dapat meningkatkan kewaspadaan para pengendara dan masyarakat yang melalui jalur merah seperti pada bencana Gempa Bumi rentan di ruas jalan yang ada di Kecamatan Bendungan dan Kecamatan Panggul, untuk bencana Banjir titik tertinggi berada di Kecamatan Pogalan dan Kecamatan Tugu dan Cuaca buruk yang rentan terjadi di Kecamatan Suruh dan Kecamatan Dongko.
