One element that contributes to realizing the process of developing the quality and potential of students is the curriculum. To teach students with 21st-century skills, namely critical thinking, creativity, innovation, collaboration, and mastering technology literacy, teachers competent in dealing with the demands of the 21st century are needed. One learning model that can improve critical thinking skills is the Problem-Based Learning model (PBL). (1) Background: This research analyzes teachers' mistakes in implementing problem-based learning models in the class; (2) Methods: This research method is qualitative and descriptive by collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation.; (3) Results: The results of this research indicate that the teacher's mistake in applying PBL to learning planning is because the teacher has not understood and mastered the syntax of the problem-based learning (PBL) model; (4) Implications: the research showed a mismatch in the application of the syntax problem-based learning model with the lesson plan.

Abstract

This study explores the metacognitive dimensions of social media consumption among elementary school students in Islamic boarding schools, explicitly focusing on self-reflection and self-regulation. With the increasing integration of social media platforms in educational settings, understanding how elementary school students navigate and make sense of digital media becomes crucial. Metacognition, which involves the awareness and regulation of one's thinking and learning processes, plays a significant role in students' interactions with social media. The study adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining a comprehensive review of existing literature, empirical research, and interviews with students and educators in Islamic boarding elementary schools. The theoretical frameworks of metacognition and social cognitive theory inform the research design and analysis. The study reveals the metacognitive processes associated with social media consumption in Islamic boarding elementary schools. Students self-reflect by critically examining the content they encounter and assessing its relevance to their learning objectives and Islamic values. Additionally, self-regulation strategies, such as setting limits on social media usage and managing online distractions, are employed to maintain focus and ensure responsible digital engagement. The implications of this study highlight the importance of integrating metacognitive skill development within elementary education. Educators and stakeholders can use the findings to design interventions promoting self-reflection and self-regulation in students' social media usage. In conclusion, this study comprehensively explores the metacognitive dimensions of social media consumption in Islamic boarding elementary schools.

Therefore, the calligraphy method in QRW learning at SDN Malangrejo Sleman is effective and innovative. The approach, which requires understanding, reading, and writing the Quran correctly, is crucial. It also aims to prevent students from boredom when learning to read and write the Quran and fosters student autonomy. We believe schools and other Islamic education teachers can leverage this research to improve the quality of Quran reading and writing. The findings of this study are expected to prompt teachers and educational institutions to consider the calligraphy method as an alternative approach to learning to read and write the Quran, as it may enhance creativity and students' interest.

Abstract

COVID-19 has caused a crisis of teacher professionalism degradation. It has surprised teachers at all levels and at the same time inspired them to seek solutions to problems they had never encountered before. Teachers and students are required to adapt to the new normal so that teachers transition in professional life from offline to online. This study aims to analyze the professionalism of teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic, in terms of pedagogical, personality, social, and professional competencies. The method used is a systematic literature review (SLR), identifying, evaluating, and interpreting all findings on a research topic to answer pre-determined research questions using the preferred reporting item for systematic review and meta-analytic (PRISMA). This research database uses Scholar, ERIC, and Mendeley. The results of the study show that teacher professionalism is decadent during the COVID-19 period. pedagogical competence becomes highly cognitive because of the weak transfer of values online. personality competence has distorted the teacher's charisma because for almost two years the students have not met the teacher. Social competence of teachers fails to develop a sense of togetherness because of social and physical distancing. Besides that, the professionalism phase of teachers in Indonesia is in the collegial phase, pedagogic competence is considered more important than other competencies. In terms of personality competence, female teachers have a higher level of professional commitment than male teachers and the professional level of teachers with a master's degree education is significantly higher than the level of professional commitment of teachers with undergraduate education. Individual work professionalism is determined and monitored collectively. This means that the principal will be given decision-making authority over school policies and procedures and the support capacity of school leaders is needed. Pedagogy and professionalism during and after a pandemic will drive transformational change. Guidelines for professional behavior are needed to interpret what the professionalism of teachers looks like during the COVID-19 pandemic. In conclusion, the concept of teacher professionalism is no longer relevant in the COVID-19 era. For future research recommendations, it is necessary to develop guidelines for professional teacher behavior during the pandemic, both COVID-19 and other natural phenomena that cause pandemics.

This study aims to find out the differences in writing skills in elementary schools by using Mind Mapping based joy full learning models and determining the effectiveness of using Mind Mapping based joy full learning models in Indonesian writing skills. This research method is included in experimental research, which takes two groups as research samples. A quasi-experimental study was conducted on 30 elementary school students randomly assigned to the experimental or control group. The data collection method used is the writing skill test method. Before giving the writing activity, a pre-test was carried out. It continued the writing activity by using the experimental group's mind mapping model based on joyful learning. At the same time, the control class did not receive treatment using this model. Next, a post-test was conducted in both groups to determine the effectiveness of the joyful learning-based mind mapping learning model. The data analysis techniques were validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, and t-test. Data analysis used the Independent Sample T-Test technique. The Independent sample t-test showed that the experimental group obtained a higher mean score than the control group. The results of this study indicate that T- arithmetic: 2.354> T-table: 2,000. It can be concluded that the teaching system using the Mind Mapping-based Joy full learning models was better than those that did not use the Mind Mapping-based Joyful learning models. The results of the data analysis are Mind Mapping-based joy-full learning models effectively teach Indonesian writing skills in elementary school. The recommendation of this research is for further research to modify the mind mapping learning model based on joyful learning to be more effective in improving writing skills in elementary school students.
