Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social, economic and cultural characteristics of the community around the Mount Sirimau Protected Forest Group in Ambon City, Maluku Province. In this study, we use an interdisciplinary approach to understand the relationship between humans and the environment in the region. Data was collected through field surveys, interviews and literature studies. The results of the analysis show that communities around protected forests have a high dependence on natural resources provided by these forests as their main source of livelihood. They also have a rich culture, with a diversity of traditions, beliefs and cultural practices deeply rooted in their daily lives. However, this study also reveals the social and economic challenges faced by society, including limited access to public services and income inequality. The importance of community participation in protected forest management is also highlighted in this study. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach in protected forest management, which takes into account social, economic, cultural and ecological aspects. Collaboration between government, non-government organizations and local communities is needed to formulate sustainable strategies to preserve protected forests and improve the welfare of surrounding communities.

Abstract

Mocaf (Modified Cassava Flour) is flour from modified cassava. Mocaf flour has a high carbohydrate content so it is necessary to add other nutritional sources to enrich the product produced. Corn puree is an alternative for producing cookies with high nutritional value. The aim of this research was to determine the best concentration of mocaf cookies with the addition of sweet corn puree. The parameters tested are proximate and sensory tests. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 1 factor, namely the concentration of corn puree. The analysis results obtained were that the treatment of adding sweet corn puree (20%) was the best addition of sweet corn puree. The chemical test results were water content 1.96%, ash content 2.24%, fat content 17.95%, and protein content 4.34%. In contrast to the carbohydrate content, the best treatment for sweet corn puree (0%) is the carbohydrate content of 77.22%. The results of the sensory test showed that the panelists showed a tendency to like the research cookies.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the extractive content based on the type of solvent in several types of bamboo leaves. Air dried bamboo leaves were chopped into particles and ground using a blender. After it was finely ground, the sago waste was sieved using 40 and 60 mesh sieves, to obtain bamboo leaf powder with a size of -40/+mesh (TAPPI T 257 cm-85) for testing chemical components. Testing for bamboo leaf powder includes testing the content of cold-water soluble extractive substances, the content of hot-water soluble extractive substances, and the levels of ethanol-toluene soluble extractives. The results of the research showed that the type of bamboo leaf had a significant effect on the levels of cold-water soluble extractive substances, the levels of hot-water soluble extractives, and the levels of ethanol-toluene soluble extractives. Cold water soluble extractive content was 8.4149-10.6612%, hot water soluble extractive 9.1871-10.7843% and ethanol-toluene soluble extractive 4.2009-7.1242%. The solubility of extractives in hot water tends to be higher for all types of leaves and suanggi bamboo tends to contain higher extractives for each type of solvent.

Abstract

This research aims: as an initial observation, symptoms and signs of damage due to insect attacks or disease on linggua plants in the nursery. The research was carried out at the People's Nursery (KBR) nursery in Liliboi Village, West Leihitu District, Central Maluku Regency, in October 2022. This research included observations of various damages to linggua plants in the nursery at KBR in Liliboi village. Observations were carried out in detail. on leaves, twig shoots and plant stems. Each type of damage is carried out by taking photos and recording the type of damage that occurs. The research results show that the pests and diseases that attack are grasshoppers and leaf spot disease. Grasshoppers can attack young and old plants by damaging the plants' leaves and shoots. Apart from that, grasshoppers have long legs so they can jump very quickly from one plant to another, grasshoppers are poly fat animals. Leaf spot disease has a characteristic, the formation of dead areas on the leaves (necrotic) with varying sizes ranging from small to large, round to angular or irregular which do not die completely unless a number of spots merge together and form large spots, so that the leaf tissue dies.
