Abstract

The research objectives were to (i) find out the description of the implementation of the outdoor learningmethod in social studies subjects at SMPS Maju Besitang (ii) find out the description of student learningmotivation in social studies subjects at SMPS Maju Besitang, (iii) find out the effect of implementingoutdoor learning methods on learning motivation students in social studies at SMPS Maju Besitang. Thistype of research is a true experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. This research wasconducted at SMPS Maju Besitang. The population in this study were class VII students, totaling 48students. The samples used in this study were 43 students, 22 students of class VIIA and 21 students ofclass VIIB. The determination of the experimental group and the control group was carried out using asystematic random sampling technique. The research instrument was a learning design using datacollection techniques, namely teacher and student observation sheets and questionnaire instruments. Thedata obtained were analyzed by normality and homogeneity tests then followed by hypothesis testingusing the t-test. The research results show that; (i) The implementation of the outdoor learning methodin learning social studies for class VII students is carried out through 10 stages, where the results ofobservations of student and teacher activities are in the good category; (ii) social studies learningmotivation of class VII students after the application of the outdoor learning method in learning hasincreased learning outcomes, where learning outcomes are in the high category; (iii) There is an effectof implementing the outdoor learning method on social studies learning motivation for class VII studentsof SMPS Maju Besitang.

Abstract

The learning process carried out by many teachers today tends to achieve the target curriculum materialand is more concerned with memorizing concepts rather than understanding. This can be seen from thelearning activities in the classroom which are always dominated by the teacher. In delivering material,the teacher usually uses the lecture method in which students only sit, take notes, and listen to what theteacher says and there are few opportunities for students to ask questions. Thus, the learning atmosphereis not conducive so that students become passive. If students are psychologically less interested in thelearning method or model used by the teacher, students will naturally provide psychological feedbackthat is less supportive in the learning process. The indication is that there is a feeling of not havingsympathy for the teacher, not being interested in learning materials, and over time, indifference to thesubject of learning arises. Fun learning can make students dare to try, or do, dare to ask questions, dareto express ideas, dare to question the ideas of others. Therefore the author realizes that the PAKEMlearning model is suitable for improving student learning outcomes. Because the PAKEM learning model(Active, Creative, Effective, and Fun Learning) allows students to do a variety of activities to developskills, attitudes, and understanding of various sources and learning aids including the use of theenvironment so that learning is more interesting, fun and effective.

Abstract

Tujuannya adalah untuk mengimplementasikan model contextual teaching and learning (CTL)dalam kelas menulis kreatif untuk mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi. Latar belakang adalah siswamembutuhkan bantuan untuk menemukan ide, topik dan tema yang relevan dengan tulisan mereka,terutama dalam menulis puisi dan cerpen. Penelitian pra-eksperimen digunakan dengan one grouppre-test dan post-test. Sampelnya adalah dua puluh siswa, yang menggunakan simple randomsampling untuk memilih sampel. Kriteria penilaian puisi dan cerpen digunakan untuk mengecekkualitas tulisan kreatif siswa. Angket digunakan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa tentangpenerapan CTL dalam menulis kreatif. Penulis menggunakan uji-t dan statistik deskriptif sebagaianalisis data dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kontekstualberpengaruh terhadap hasil dan motivasi belajar siswa serta meningkatkan produksi menulis puisidan cerpen. Siswa percaya bahwa CTL membantu mereka menemukan ide, topik, dan tema yangterkait dengan kehidupan dan pengalaman sehari-hari mereka di kelas menulis kreatif.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the use of mind mapping as a tool to improve the writing skillsof students in Yaspen Nurul Huda Serapuh ABC 2023. Four students with writing difficultiesparticipated in the study. In the study, researchers used observational techniques to determine students’writing abilities through mind mapping. Teacher performed descriptive analyzes of students’ writingtest scores before and after they applied the ”mind mapping” technique in their writing. The purposeof this study was also to determine the effectiveness of mind mapping in teaching writing. The resultsof this study provide insight into the effectiveness of using mind mapping in writing classes in theseschools to improve students writing skills.

Abstract

Availability of vessel design and capacity according to the wishes of fishermen groups on a small scale,especially in the area of South Buton Regency must be carried out. Taking into account the cost of makingships and the use of fiberglass materials, it is hoped that a ship design will be produced that is for accordancewith the wishes of the community. The main ship size study provides many options in choosing ships withdifferent characteristics but having almost the same ship volume. This study aims to identify and compareseveral main ship sizes that are designed and provide choices according to existing requirements. The resultsshowed that with a ship length of 7 m, width of 1.5 m, and of 0.72 m, the ship would have a resistance of 2.8kN, a power of 14.22 kW and a displacement of 1464 kg and a surface area of 226854.22 cm2. Meanwhile,with a ship length of 7.25 m, width of 1.5 m, and of 0.70 m, it will have a resistance of 2.9 kN, a power of 14.7kW and a displacement of 1474 kg and a surface area of 232578.12 cm2. Whereas with a ship length of 7.50 m,width of 1.5 m, and of 0.68 m it will have a resistance of 1.6 kN, a power of 15.22 kW and a displacement of1481 kg and a surface area of 238195.85 cm2.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji Strategi Komunikasi Guru SD Al-Washliyah 45 dalam Metode Pembelajaran Daring Melalui Smartphone selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan fokus pada komunikasi interpersonal antara guru dan siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Al-Washliyah 45 Medan, Sumatera Utara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru menggunakan berbagai strategi komunikasi, termasuk penggunaan WhatsApp dan komunikasinonverbal, untuk mengatasi hambatan-hambatan dalam pembelajaran daring. Namun, masih ada tantangan yang dihadapi, seperti kendala teknologi, keterbatasan akses internet, dan ketidakmampuan siswa untuk mengikuti pembelajaran daring. Meskipun demikian, penelitian ini mengungkapkan pentingnya komunikasi interpersonal dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran daring selama pandemi.

Abstract

Vocabulary is the most important language in the world. This quantitative study implemented word cookies apps to improve vocabulary mastery. In this study, the aim was to enhance students' vocabulary mastery in tenth grade at SMKN 9 Semarang and was to find out the result of students’ vocabulary mastery before and after using Word Cookies Apps and to find out whether there was any significant difference in students’ ability in their vocabulary mastery, to achieve the aim of this study, it used a pre-experimental design. The study was conducted in the tenth grade of SMKN 9 Semarang. A total of 36 students participated in this study. Data were collected from the pre-test, the post-test, and the documentation. An essay has been used as the instrument of this study. To determine the results of a significant difference in vocabulary mastery between students before and after they were taught using Word Cookies Apps, the data were analyzed using the t-test formula in the SPSS 25 program. The results of the pre-test were still low, the mean pre-test score was 61,78 and the category is fair. The lowest score pre-test was 40 and the highest was 78. The result of the post-test was a mean of 81,08 for the category good, the lowest score was 65, and the highest was 95. So it can be concluded the learning process results refer to the hypothesis when less than <0.05 is accepted, and if more than t >0.05 is rejected, the result is < 0.00 accepted. Based on this data, The researcher concluded that the implementation of Word Cookies Apps to improve vocabulary mastery could improve students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Writing skills are very important skills for students and will always be used by students in learning activities at school and outside of school if they have graduated and are involved in various activities in the community. The success of the teaching and learning process is largely determined by the student's ability to write. Therefore, students' writing skills should be improved as early as possible in their school life. There are some texts in writing. One of them is the narative text. A narrative text is a non-fiction story that can be a fairy tale, myth, folklore, animal story, and so on. The purpose of a narrative text is to entertain the reader with a story made in such a way that it is interesting. Narrative texts have three elements that must be present in a story or writing, such as orientation, complications, and resolution. E-Learning Fresto is a paid e-Learning that provides a variety of services that are useful in supporting the learning process, evaluation, and assessment of learning. Fresto also provides video call facilities that allow teachers and students to meet face-to-face and online in learning. E-Learning Fresto is an application that can help the learning process in the classroom and have a positive impact on teachers and students, make students not feel bored and make the learning process more interesting. The purpose of this study is to determine the achievement of students' writing skills in writing narrative texts with and without the application of fresto. The population is 36 students of class X TEI 2 SMK N 4 Semarang. The author took one class as an experimental class. Research instruments in the form of tests, there are two types of tests, namely pre-test and post-test. Written tests are used to collect data. After data collection, there was a significant difference between before and after learning using the fresto application. The results of the study were that the average score of students who wrote narative texts without fresto application was 77.41667 and the average score of students after using the fresto application in writing narative texts was 89.86111 KEY WORDS: Writing, Narative Text, Fresto App

Abstract

ABSTRACT The abstract aimed at improving speaking skills through speech activity of English Club since speaking was still considered as the hardest skill in the place. This research was conducted using Classroom Action Research (CAR). There were 60 students as research subjects, 40 females, and 20 males. They were the students of Darunnajah Boarding school. This research was conducted in two cycles, each consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through quantitative in the form of test and qualitative data in the form of observation and interview. The results of this study indicated that there was an increase in students' speaking skills. This was proved with result of student test from cycles 1 to 2. This showed that the scores and averages in the second cycle were better than the first cycle. The percentage of students who got points >75 also increased. In the pre-test students who got points >75 and above were 9 students (15%). In the post-test of cycle, I students who scored >75 and above were 20 students (33%). In the post-test of cycle II, there were 52 students (86%) who got score more than >75. In other words, students' speaking ability increased and became better after implementing speech technique.
