Abstract

Implementation of process skills approach to the concept of plant motion system in SMA Negeri 3 Pidie. Research purposes to know the process of learning outcomes through the application process skills approach to the concept of plant movement. The approach used was qualitative descriptive approach types of Class Actions. This study used two cycles with four components, namely planning (planning), action (acting), observation (observing) and reflection (reflecting). Subjects in this study were students in grade XI IPA 3 year 2009/2010 amounted to 30 people. The instrument used was the test at the end of each cycle. To find out the improvement process and the thoroughness of learning were used a percentage formula. Results showed that the average grade 77.67 80% completeness level of exam success cycle I. Cycle II gained an average grade of 72.17 with 86.67% completeness level. Students generally gave positive responses (attitudes agree) on learning. It is recommended that the application of process skills approach can be used on other concepts in the biology learning as one model that can enable student learning.

Abstract

The Use of Multiple Models in Environmental concepts in SMA Negeri 4 Bireuen. Research purpose is to know the process of learning outcomes through the use of Multi-model on the concept of Environment. The approach used was qualitative descriptive approach types of Class Actions. This study used two cycles with four components, namely planning (planning), action (acting), observation (observing) and reflection (reflecting). Subjects in this study were students in grade lesson X.1 2008/2009 amounted to 36 people. The instrument used was the test at the end of each cycle. To find out the improvement process and the thoroughness of learning, percentage formula is used. The results showed that 44, 44% who have attained completeness in cycle 1. Cycle II obtained by the thoroughness of 88.89%. Students generally respond positively to learning. It is suggested that the use of multiple models can be used on other concepts in the biology of learning to encourage students in learning.

Abstract

The research about the trial of mosquitoes as the vector of filariasis which are endemic area of filariasis in three area district of Pidie have been done from August until Desember 2007. The aim of this research is to determinate and to know how the spesies of mosquitoes becoming the vector of filariasis in the endemic area in three area district of Pidie. The research was used the exploration methods and the taking of sample was done purposively. The result of the research was founded the larva in mosquito’s body, with the infection rate is 0,91%, and based on the result of identification that have been done, the mosquito is Culex quinquefasciatus. The result catching is also founded five kind of mosquitoes that have been reported as the natural vector of filariasis that are Culex annulirostris, Aedes aegypti, Anopheles subpictus, Anopheles barbirostris, and Anopheles vagus.

Abstract

Lackness of motivation of PGSD S-1 Almuslim students to participate in Basic Science Concept 1 subject is caused by classical lecture with the method which is fail to activate students, as well as the use of abstract concept. The fact motivates the researcher to find solution to make students interested in learning Basic Science Concept 1 by developing multimedia based material through Macromedia Flash Mx. The research aimed to know the activity and studenst’ response in Basic Science Concept lecture by using multimedia based material to the students of PGSD S1 Almuslim. Qualitative and descriptive statistic are used to analysed the data. The result shows that the average of exam 1 is 72,32 increase to 78,00 at exam 2. Observation Data towards teaching activity shows that 83,16% has fit to teaching scenario. Observation Data towards students’ activity shows the average score 85,71% good chategory. Students give positive response to all aspects with the range of 79 – 97%. As a conclusion, the use of interractive multimedia based material could improve teaching effectivity to Basic Science Concept lecture. Finally, it is recommended that lecturers should apply interractive multimedia based material in other subjects as a teaching model at PGSD S1 Almuslim.

Abstract

Insertion and deletion are information that reflect evolutional potency of species or population, that nowadays, are central topics in conservation genetics. This research aims to reveal the proportion of insertion and deletion on RDP1of species Megapodes in Indonesia. Whole blood DNA was extracted according to the protocol of Qiamp DNA Blood Mini Kit (Qiagen), and used as template for PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) which was conducted according the protocol of Takara Ex TaqTM PCR Kit in a Perkin-Elmer Thermal Cycler 9600. PCR products were purified using a Qiaquick PCR Purification Kit (Qiagen, USA). The sequencing reaction for RDP1 was performed using BigDye v.3.1. Cycle Sequencing Kit (Applied Biosystems,USA) followed the protocol of ABI Prism 3100-Avant Genetic Analyzer (Applied Biosystems, USA). Alignment of RDP1 nucleotide sequences of megapodes and that are obtained from international DNA data base (DDBJ-DNA Data Bank of Japan) with accession number AF 394649 (RDP1) were conducted by using Clustal-X. Characteristics of RDP1 were analyzed by employing the DNA Sequence Polymorphism (DnaSP) version 3.51 and Program MEGA version 4. The analysis result demonstrated there were insertion and deletion on RDP1 of species of Megapodes in Indonesia, which resulting in a gap of 1-10 bp and was concentrated in nucleotide 407-568. Alignments between species of Megapodes  and two species of Galliformes showed more gaps, which were concentrated on nucleotides 480-708.

Abstract

The research on species of  Anopheles’ breeding places has been carried out at Desa Rukoh in the District of Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh from February to June 2007. The aim of the research was to identify species of Anopheles’  breeding places at Desa Rukoh. In this research, the purposive sampling method has been implemented to obtain the samples from ten different locations around Desa Rukoh. Data collection was conducted by catching the larva at breeding places and catching the adult Anopheles  trapped by using Aspirator and Light Trap. CCD microscope was  used to identify the species of Anopheles. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by using the descriptive approaches. Based on laboratory analysis, it has been identified that three species of Anopheles namely, An. subpictus, An. vagus,  and An. sundaicus. The breeding places of Anopheles  at Desa Rukoh were ponds, buffalo’s trash dam, ex man’s footprint, ditches and swamp.

Abstract

Teacher is one important component in improving teaching quality. One way to improve the teaching quality is by applying various innovative strategies. One of the innovative teaching strategies is contextual learning. Contextual teaching strategy is a teaching strategy which emphasize on students’ activity in learning, so that students can memorize the material for longer time and can get better achievement. This research aimed to figure out the improvement of students’ achievement in Human Reproduction Concept at MTs Negeri 1 Matangglumpangdua. This research used two cycles with four components: planning, acting, observing and reflecting. Test was conducted at the end of each cycle. Data was analyzed qualitatively by using descriptive statistic. The result shows that the average of cycle 1 increased from 70,00 to 76,09 at cycle 2. Students give positive responses 72,28%; 75, 82%; 73,39% and  71,16% to attention indicator, interest indicator, possitive belief indicator and satisfaction indicator (agreement scale) respectively. Finally, it is recommended that contextual learning is suitable to be used in Human Reproduction Concept. Nevertheless, contextual learning strategy shouldn’t be applied continously to different materials to avoid student’s boredom.

Abstract

Has done research on the extraction of natural pigments from bark of Jamblang (Syzygium cumini) as a base for textile dyes. This study aims to extract natural dyes from bark of  Jamblang as the base material of textile dyes. The research was conducted in the laboratory of Chemistry FKIP Syiah Kuala University. The population in this study is Jamblang bark (Syzygium cumini) in Ujung Batee, Aceh Besar as much as 3 kg. A total of 500 gram sample of wet bark of jamblang sokhletasi extracted with 2500 ml of water. Water extract was concentrated by evaporator and the viscous extract obtained as many as 77.984 grams. Confirmation test results of water condensed tannins in the bark extract showed a positive presence jamblang hydrolyzed tannins. Viscous extract obtained water test conducted on fabric dyeing, paper, and wood. Dyeing process is done by soaking for 1 hour at a temperature of 100oC and followed by a fixation on the fabric color by using FeSO4, alum, and potassium bichromate for 15 minutes. Dyeing with bark extract of Jamblang give good results on fabric and paper, whereas the only stain on the wood surface is uneven. The results of dyeing the cloth with a fixation process to vary the color and fastness is good.

Abstract

The mangrove conversion become fish pond, bareland or others has an impact in water quality. One of water quality parameter is Total Suspended Solid (TSS), increasing TSS means the rising in pollution.  Landsat remote sensing data with multi channels used in studying the dynamic of mangrove – fishpond change and TSS along the Berau waters. Several regions with its variation are used in that dynamic studying.  The TSS algorithm for Berau waters is TSS (mg/l) = 3.3238 * exp (34.099*Red Band) , Red band=the atmospheric reflectance band 2 validated with field data. The result study is the conversion of mangrove become fish pond has the strong indication in the rising TSS .

Abstract

The research was done in Baluran National Park, Banyuwangi East Java. The objectives of this research were:  to determine of species composition, importance value of species, diversity index and evenness index, similarity index, distribution pattern of species, and species association. This research used the quadrat method. The determination of the species distribution was calculated using Poisson distribution formula and the determination of association was calculated using contingency table. The results of this research indicated that,  there were 61 species of  plant belong to20 familiy. The importance value was between 0,97-55,65%, and species with high importance value is Brachiaria reptans, Thespesia lanpas, Dichantium coricosum, and Oplismenus burmanii. The diversity index was between 2,0851-3,4033, and evenness index was between 1,7199-1,9984. The distribution pattern of species indicated that 38  species were  clumped, 10 species reguler, and 13 species were at random.  The multi-plants tend to have a clumped distribution pattern, and single plant tend to have a reguler or random distribution pattern. The of association indicated that 4 species assosiation which the highest index.
