Abstract

Purpose ? This research aims at providing a PBL-based Entrepreneurship learning model to improve the student life skills in Private Faculties of Teacher Training and Educationin Solo Raya. Method ? This research was a ?research and development?. The research and development model consists of three steps: preliminary study, model development, and model testing. The research study stage employed a qualitative research; techniques of collecting data used were observation, interview, and content analysis and archive, while the data validation was done using data (source), method and theory triangulations, and informant review; data analysis was done using an interactive model of analysis. Findings ? The implementation of life skills education in FKIP of UNISRI was not based on specific curriculum yet; the curriculum is integrated into all courses existing in the Study Program. The life skill content of each course is different but proportional and consistent with the characteristics of the course. Life skill education was given to the students in terms of the thinking and working skill, knowledge, and attitude the students to prepare themselves as independent members of society. Significance ? The Problem Based Learning (PBL)-Based Entrepreneurship learning model development could improve the life skills of the private Teacher Training and Education Faculty?s Students throughout Solo Raya. Abstract

The research aims to find out the Self-Evaluation Model Management Inclusive Education in Elementary School Bantul Yogyakarta. Variables that will be revealed include: institutional, learning curriculum and evaluation, workforce, student affairs, infrastructure, and financing. Subjects were teachers, principals and committee inclusive education in primary school Bantul district. The total population was all Inclusive Elementary Schools located in Bantul district consisting both public and private elementary Inclusive schools.Type of evaluation research was the survey held in April-October 2013. The technique of collecting data included questionnaires: interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis technique used integrated or simultaneous quantitative and qualitative descriptive approach.The results of the study revealed clearly and operational condition of the success of inclusive elementary schools, indicated by: (1) institutional, (2) curriculum, (3) staffing, (4) student, (5) infrastructure, and (6) financing, implementation and management success Inclusive Elementary School Principal in Bantul Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Purpose: The primary objective of the Islamic Religious Education is to create amalus-solikhah, that is, the formation of pieties, both individual piety and social piety. The process of the piety formation is due to the ingrained faith and devotion to God. The process of the faith and devotion formation is achieved through tafakur and tadhabur, based on God the Almighty?s creations. Therefore, the the Islamic Religious Education is necessary to be integrated into the Natural Sciences so that there will be an integrity between the kauliyah verse with the kauniyah verse. Method:This research used a research and development study. One of the characteristics of such a study is product. One of the products of this research is the integrated thematic learning of the Islamic Religious Education with the Natural Sciences in the form of learning scenario in syllabus and lesson plan. Findings:The results of the research shows that the implementation of the integrated learning in the integrated thematic learning of the Islamic Religious Education with the Natural Sciences at State Senior Secondary Schools in Purwokerto city is very significant in improving the faith and devotion of the students, as indicated by the results of the experimental study in which the implementation of the integrated learning is very effective and the responses of the students toward it, are indeed very good. Abstract

Purpose: Shaping the students? morality and virtous character is one of the objectives of education. Character  education as an aspect that enriches religious education is aimed atdeveloping students? values, attitudes, and behaviors  which reflects virtous morality. This is in accordance with the most essential objective of Islamic religious education that is to educatestudents with noble and perfect character as the soul of the Islamic religious education is thecharacter education.Method: This is a descriptive qulitative research which aims at describing the integration of religious Islamic education with other school subjects, school cutlture, and extracurricular activities. Observation, interview, questionnaires, as well as documentation were used in the research.Findings: The result of the research showed that positive values, attitudes, and behaviors, such as honesty, hospitality, trustworthiness, optimism, as well as avoiding negative behaviors, such as lying, lavishness, and enviousness, were parts of the characters covered in the religious education. In addition, the teaching learning process should be supported by the environmental factors to achieve its goal. The environmental factors could include the school culture as well as extracurricular activities. When the moral values in the religious education were integrated with other school subjects, school culture, and supporting extracurricular activities, the students virtous characters and attitudes would be positively affected. Islamic Religous Education (PAI)as one of the subjects taught at schools have similarities with Civic Education (PKn). The similarities could be described with the character values aimed to achieve.Several  religious values in the Islamic religious education are praying before and after lesson, showing tolerance to believers of other religions, respecting others doing religious activities, praying for sick friends. Meanwhile, the religious character covered in the civic education, among others, are smiling, greeting, being polite, praying, praying for sick friends, showing tolerance, and doing religious activities well.The integrated model allowed students to learn the knowledge and skills wholistically. Hence, the teaching and learning process would be more meaningful for the students. Beside the integration of the religious education with the civic education, the shaping of values at school relied heavily on the school cultures, and school activities as a media to shape personal values, both in term of religiosity as well as nationalism.

Abstract

Purpose:The aim of this study is to: (1) describe the teaching materials of handling mail currently used as the competency of Office Administration skill in Business and Management vocational school, (2) formulate the development of teaching materials prototype to be teaching materials of practicum/practice mail handling on the competency of office administration skill on busines and and Management, and  (3) determine the effectiveness level of teaching materials based on practice of competency skills in Office Administration) in some vocational schools in Surakarta and Karanganyar. Method:This research used 3 data collection techniques. There were : (1) a preliminary study by interview, observation and documentation, (2) limited testing and more extensive trials with interview techniques,  focus group Discusión (FGD), and test techniques, (3) the effectiveness test by IQ tests and practice tests, also attitude scales test. Analysis of data are : (1) A preliminary study with interactive analysis, (2) limited and extensive trials/tests with interactive analysis and anakova statistical analysis, (3) and effectiveness test with anakova statistical analysis. Findings: The research found that :  (1) limited test qualitatively, the inputs from both the subject, the expert of teaching materials, and stakeholders, statistically FoRes = 13.3033> Ft = 4.08 and it means that there is a significant difference in the learning achievement between the experimental group with the control group, (2) the anakova test without variabel of students covariate showedFoRes = 53.9957> Ft = 3.98, whereas anakova with covariates variable of students? learning motivation is FoRes = 48.7135 > Ft = 3.98.  It means that there are significant differences between the learning outcomes of experimental class  with the control class,  (3) from one way Anava test, IQ test shows FoRes = 3388 <Ft 4:06. It means that there are not IQ differences between the experimental and the control group. It is indicated that FoRes = 1336 <Ft 4:06.  It shows that there is not difference in students' attitudes toward mail handling subjects.Anakova without covariate variable of students learning motivation showed FoRes = 114 508> Ft = 3.92.  It means that there is a significant difference between learning outcomes without student motivation.   Anakova with covariates variable of students learning motivation is FoRes = 115 249> 3.92 Ft.  It shows that there is a significant difference between learning outcomes with student motivation. Abstract

Adolescent moral crisis that occurred today in Indonesia has caused tremendous concern to the sustainability of human future development. The government decided to design and implement a new curriculum in 2013 which is more oriented character education in the learning process. Development ofan integrated thematic learning model based humor cartoon aims to produce an effective learning model, innovative and fun for students to improve the quality ofcharacter education in elementary schools. This study uses a model development AIDM (Alternative Instructional Design Models) with the subject and location in SD 08 Surau Gadang, Nanggalo, Padang - Indonesia. Data were collected by interview; observation and documentation were analyzed with descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques.  After going through the process of designing, development and evaluation by expert validation of this model had a good degree of validity.  Based on initial implementation stated that some modeling exercises and character education in schools conducted by using images of humor cartoon as a medium that shows an excellent level of practicality. The effectiveness ofthe product revealed that this model shows some character values are the discipline of time, care for the environment and honesty; had given good results.

Abstract

Purpose: This research is based on a condition of Social Studies instruction in Junior High schools in Surakarta that is still far from the expectation. It focuses on the cognitive aspect and lack of affective aspects. Therefore, it is important to develop an instruction throughCOLESTVIA Model by combining STAD type, Tournament and VIA as an effort in internalization of character values in Social Studies instruction. The development of character values is concerned with cognitive development and the result of social interaction. It is believed that by integrating the character values, it can strengthen the character and personality for the Junior High school students in Surakarta. Method:The Developmentof COLESTVIA Model is done through development research by three main steps, namely Preliminary Study, Development, and Model Pilot. The data was collected through Observational Technique, Interview, Questionaire and Doccumentation. The Data Analysis for the Preliminary Study uses qualitative, while the Model Pilot was by means of experiment using quantitative Approach as to answer the research questions, namely : (1) How is the performance of the Social Studies instruction of the grade VIII of Junior High School students in Surakarta, (2) How is the development of COLESTVIA Model that can integrate the character values, and (3) How is the effectiveness of The DevelopmentCOLESTVIA Model as an attempt of the internalization of the character values in Social Studies instruction in grade VIII Junior High school.T-test was used to know the difference between the model of COLESTVIA instruction and conventional model. Findings: The result of the research shows after performing the try out in SMP 19 through Classroom Action Research (CAR); the larger scaled-trial in SMP 2 and private Junior High School A, (experiment), SMP 3 and private Junior High School B (control), and the effectiveness of trial in SMP 19, SMP 24 and private Junior High School C (experiment) and SMP 10, SMP 25 and private Junior High School D (contol), proved that thatCOLESTVIA instruction is able to improve the competency and the SMP students? character values in various groups of schools. The conclusion of the research is that the model of COLESTVIA instruction fulfill the principles and proves significantly the increase of the SMP students? character values in Surakarta compared with the various conventional models of instruction. Abstract

This study aims to improve the skills of candidate teachers of children with visual impairment as a sighted guide/companionfor blind peoplethrough training and mentoring. The subjects of this study were the students of the Department of Special Education of Faculty Education Yogyakarta State University that takes concentration education of children with visual impairment.Data analysis using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the training and mentoring is proven to improve skills of candidate teachers ofchildren with visual impairmentas a sighted guide/companion for blind people have done with two cycles of action. Results cycle 1 of actions undertaken by the practice as a sighted guide/companion for blind people accompanied by a pre-test as a baseline, seven candidate teachers of children  with visual impairment  cumulatively reached an average score of 2.47 and a post-test achieving an average score of 3.24; 31.17% have been able to improve the skills of the sevencandidate teachers of children with visual impairment as a sighted guide/companion for blind people. The results of the actions undertaken by cycle 2 had done with exercises and mentoring as a sighted guide/companion to look out for blind people , the seventh  candidates teacher of children with visual impairment cumulatively reached an average score of 3.24 increased 29.63% to an average score of 4.2 with a good rating and has exceeded the target minimum standard score/weight percentage value of 3.5 or better stated, reaching 76%, but has not reached the predicate is very good because it has not reached a score of> 4.2 to 5.0 or 86% -100%, so it has reached the target action and not there needs to be action cycle 3.

Abstract

Purpose?Research on teacher training needs analysis in order to study the development of pedagogical and professional elementary school teachers competencies in Civic education aims to describe the level of pedagogical and professional? elementary school teachers competencies gap and to describe the elementary teacher training needs in order to develop pedagogical and professional deficit. Method?This study is a descriptive research. The study sites spread across the elementary school teachers in 8 subdistricts which are Suruh, Bancak, Bringin, Pabelan, Tengaran, Kaliwungu, Getasan and Ambarawa. The sample consists of 72 teachers, taken by purposive clusters sampling. Data collection technique is using self-evaluation in the form of questionnaire that has been tested for the validity and reliability. Analysis showed that the corrected item-total correlation is 0,794 for the highest and 0,221 for the lowest. Reliability test results showed that the alpha reliability coefficient is 0.945. Moreover, the techniques of data analysis are using descriptive statistical analysis and gap analysis. Findings ?The result of the analysis shows that there are1) the gap of teachers? pedagogic competency is 23.07 %, 2) the gap of teachers professional competency is 30 % , dan 3) the gap of pedagogic and professional competencies includes;(a) developing the curriculum which is related to Civics Education, (b)  conducting assesment and evaluation of the process and result of learning process, (c) using the result of assesment and evaluation for the sake of teaching and learning, (d)  Doing refective action (Class Action Research) to enhance teaching and learning process, (e)  mastering the concept and principle of protection and development of Human Rights and also fair and proper law enforcement, (f) developing the material of civics education creatively, (g)  developing sustainable profesionalism through reflective action, (h) using information technology and communication for self developing action. Significance?This research discusses about the gap of elementary school teachers? competencies, spesifically civics education. Gap occurs when there is discrepancy between ideal competencies and empirical competencies of teachers? performance. Abstract

Objective: The objectives of this research are to develop Nyantrik learning model in the Field Experience Practice Program for the bachelor (S-1) Workforce EducationInstitutions, and to investigate the effectiveness of the Nyantrik learning model.Method: This research was conducted at Teacher Training Institutions in the regions of Ngawi Residency, East Java, Indonesia. It used the research & development method with the following phases: preliminary studies (library research, field survey, product drafting), development (limited experiment and field experiment), and testing (pre-test, treatment, and post-test).Result: The results of the research are as follows: 1) Nyantrik  learning model is a learning model which is used in the Field Experience Practice Program for the bachelor (S-1) students of the Teacher Training Institutions with the process of teacher competency transformation through imitation, identification, and internalization of the competencies owned by the mentor teachers. The teacher competency transformation is done by applying the teaching proposed by Ki Hajar Dewantara that is tut wuri handayani (supporting from the back), ing madya mangun karsa (building spirit in the middle), and ing ngarsa sung tulada (setting an example in the front) in formal and informal Nyantrik situations. 2) The results of the learning model effectiveness test are as follows: a) The teacher competency transformation through imitation, identification, and internalization can take place well; b) the application of the teaching of Ing ngarsa sung tuladha, ing madya mangun karsa, and tut wuri handayani can form the teacher competencies maximally; and c) the blend between the formal Nyantrik  and the informal Nyantrik  can create a harmonious mentoring from the mentor teachers to the students doing the Field Experience Practice Program including the implementation of periodical workshops, which can form  the teacher competencies maximally, namely: their pedagogical, professional, personal, and social competencies. d) Nyantrik Learning Model is better and more effective than the Apprenticeship Learning Model.Conclusion: Based on the results of the research, a conclusion is drawn that the Nyantrik learning model is very effective to be applied in the Field Experience Practice Program as to form the teacher competencies of the bachelor (S-1) Workforce Education Institutions.
