Abstract

In dealing with labor issues, it needs continued effort to reduce unemployment breakthrough that is felt over the yearscontinued to to increase , particularly from college graduates. Providing subject matter Technopreneurship expected to provide an alternative solution, especially in view of the changing pattern (mindset) of student job seekers into job creators. Technopreneuship load theory and practice of entrepreneurship by providing innovation through the application of technology which are held by the college in particular and other technology resources to create innovative products so as to generate new technology-based entrepreneurs. To make that happen, it is necessary to know the conditions and constraints of the college in the development of this Technopreneurship. Because certainly at this moment the new universities provide an introduction to entrepreneurship has not been in the form of technology entrepreneurship. For that team BPP Technology has conducted a study to provide advice to the parties involved in the development of good Technopreneurship related to the condition, model development and the policies required to encourage the development of Technopreneurship in college.

Abstract

The development of many aspects in most regencies/municipalities in cross-border area is left behind, compare with the development archieve in other regions inIndonesia. Indeed, cross-border area have an important role as a front gate (main entrance) of Indonesia. This phenomenon happened because of the limitted budget for cross-border area development. This budget allocation is smaller than the actually budget needed for increasing the cross-border area development. Using economic growth approach and fiscal capacities approach of every region, this paper estimates the investment needed for development in eight region of crossborder areas during 2006-2009.

Abstract

Sugar is a strategic commodity for Indonesia, such that the availibility and the price have been managed by the government. The national production of Indonesia sugar has not been enough to cover the consumption, such that the deficit must be imported. Indonesian sugar was produced by 61 factories, where 51 units are State-owned Company. Unfortunately, the quality of sugar produced by State – owned factory has been getting worse, such that some are not qualified to the Indonesian National Standards (SNI). One of the reasons is poor process technology adopted, which is mostly using sulfitation technology. The Government, therefore, encourages industry to migrate the process technology from sulfitationsystem to defecation remelt carbonatation (DRK) system. This study assesses the techno-economy feasibility of the migration. The results indicate that technology migration is technically feasible, but for the business, Government needs to give price incentive to the product. Furthermore, the study recommends that adoption of DRK technology should be prioritized to the factories with abundant stock of baggase.

Abstract

Special Economic Zone has been introduced as a new approach in Indonesia for regional development purposes on the basic of economic activities concentration. Some countries have run such project as part of national income and thus opening new job opportunity for the local people. A concept for its development need to be established since it also affects to the government’s expenditure. This is a chance for the government to open mind in creating new investment from other countries to Indonesia. Two cities have been chosen as cases of study namely Bitung – north Sulawesi Province and Dumai – Riau Province. The first is known as fish processing industry city whereas the second one is known as CPO processing industry city. This study has proved that Dumai has a good prospect as a special economic zone based on the application of Powersim dynamic programming model for its analysis.

Abstract

Saat ini bencana hidrometeorologi menunjukkan tren meningkat. Bencana banjir bandang adalah bagian dari bencana hidrometeorologi yang terindikasi berdampak signifikan terhadap kehidupan, dan harta benda. Faktor utama banjir bandang adalah dipicu oleh intensitas hujan ekstrim. Kemudian berhubungan dengan kejadian longsor yang menyumbat aliran sungai membentuk bendung alam. Selanjutnya tekanan aliran sungai menjebol bendung alami tersebut sehingga terjadi banjir bandang yang ditandai dengan kecepatan aliran yang tinggi dengan membawa lumpur, kayu, dan batu. Setidaknya terjadi 10 kejadian banjir bandang di Indonesia pada tahun 2012 yang mengakibatkan 15 korban jiwa dan kerusakan harta benda pada setiap kejadian bencana. Untuk mengatasi bencana banjir bandang beberapa tindakan mitigasi dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan pemetaan daerah bahaya, sistem peringatan dini, kesiapsiagaan masyarakat, dan peramalan hidrometeorologi. Sayangnya dari upaya tindakan mitigasi tersebut, hanya beberapa daerah yang berpotensi bencana banjir bandang yang siap dengan upaya tersebut.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to know the optimal formula of auksine and sitokinine in the Murashige dan Skoog (MS) basic media and to conserve gaharu tree (Aquilaria beccariana) in order to produce young gaharu plants which have similar properties with their mother plants. The research used Factorial Design with basic analysis of Complete Randomized Design in order to know the effect of treatment to the elongation. The results of the research showed that after 8 weeks of the treatment with IBA and the combination with BAP and Kinetin have significant effect to the increase of height and number of segment but have no significant effect to the number of buds. The combination of 0.1 mg/l IBA and BAP 0.05 mg/l was the optimal formula for the elongation of young gaharu plants with the increse of height 1.7 cm and number of segmnent 6.4.
