Abstract

This article examines the founder of the Muhammadiyah, K. H. Ahmad Dahlan (1869–1923) and the reformation of Islamic education he had proclaimed as an attempt to abolish all feudalism force in society towards a realistic and democratic modern society. The clerical reformist, K. H. Ahmad Dahlan played an essential role and was the key for the improvement and the reawakening of Muslim society so as to abandon the rooted feudal cultural practice. This article first discuss the childhood of K. H. Ahmad Dahlan and his education. The article then discusses the socio-cultural context of feudalist Muslim society within his neighborhood. Then, the article also discusses the Islamic education reformation proclaimed by K. H. Ahmad Dahlan referring to his notion on Islamic education reformation, his view on the relation between religion and mind, as well as his political view.

Abstract

The background of this writing is the decreasing of nationalism among the youth of the nation. Nowadays, the nationalism seems to be sunk. Nowadays, it is facing a great challenge to civilization, named globalization. As the basic drive and the élan vital, the flexibility of Indonesia nationalism is being tested in terms of the ability to change, so it is hoped that it is always accurate in answering the occurring-demand. The flexibility is not decreasing the nationalism; it is, in fact, shows the deep of nationalism itself so at the same time it is still alive and continuously metamorphosed.The aim of this writing is to investigate the role of the family in the nationalism, both individually and together among the youth. This research conducted in the analytical description method. The discussion shows that the family environment has a role in growing the nationalism. It is also shown that the family has a great role in forming the nationalism among the youth. It is concluded that the education in the family gives a good impact toward the nationalism among the youth. Parents who educate their children to love their nation by asking them to follow the national events in their childhood will help the children to love their nation and country.

Abstract

The paper is based on the research on difficulties in history learning particularly in developing the students’ skill. History as one of the national school subjects can be utilized as a medium in developing students’ social skill in order to cope with the complex society. The method can be conducted through multicultural based history learning.The formulation of the research is based on the following questions; why do teachers should apply the multicultural learning system? How to develop a lesson plan and its learning implementation?, how to develop an evaluation on multicultural based history learning?, moreover ,does the multicultural based learning method able to upgrade students’ social skill?.Qualitative research is applied as the research paradigm and action research method is conducted as the tools of analysis. The subject of the study is the 11th grade students of SMA negeri 3 Bandung. The results of the study point out that firstly, the composing of multicultural based lesson plan is applied on the objective formulation, material arrangement, learning method development, and development of learning evaluation. Secondly, the implementation of multicultural based history learning can be elaborated by various learning strategies, particularly strategies involving students’ activity. Thirdly, the learning evaluation on multicultural based history learning shows a positive progress on students’ activity and teachers’ performance. Finally, the well designed multicultural based learning system extends a positive impact on students’ social skill.

Abstract

Nasionalisme Indonesia saat ini sedang mengalami degradasi yang diantaranya ditandai dengan semakin tingginya angka korupsi baik di kalangan pejabat pusat maupun daerah; eksploitasi terhadap alam (SDA) secara massif yang berdampak terhadap kehidupan masyarakat; dan semakin tingginya sikap intoleransi yang mengarah kepada disintegrasi bangsa. Di sisi lain, kurang optimalnya kemampuan guru sejarah dalam memanfaatkan sumber-sumber lokal, seperti peran Hassan Basry dalam mempertahankan kemerdekaan di Kalimantan Selatan yang  berimplikasi terhadap rendahnya pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta didik terhadap sejarah lokalnya. Hassan Basry adalah tokoh pejuang pada periode revolusi fisik (1945-1949) yang memiliki peran penting dalam mempertahankan kemerdekaan di bumi Lambung Mangkurat. Pernyataan “Proklamasi 17 Mei” di Kandangan oleh Hassan Basry, mengandung nilai nasionalisme yang memiliki fungsi strategi terhadap pembentukan karakter bagi peserta didik melalui pembelajaran sejarah. Pernyataan tersebut mengandung nilai-nilai nasionalisme yang sangat penting diinternalisasikan dan ditransformasikan kepada peserta didik sebagai sumber belajar sejarah. Nilai nasionalisme Hassan Basry tidak berhenti pada periode revolusi fisik, tapi berlanjut hingga pascarevolusi fisik, yakni menggagas dan menjadi presiden (rektor) pertama Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) (1958).

Abstract

The simple formula used to explain the local history in this paper is the history that tells about the dynamis life of a community with its culture in an area, a certain regionality. In the “locality” perspective of location or geography aspect which include the village, city, region, and province and its variety, Indonesia would have many of it. However, the local history has a strategic role while providing a wide possibility in improving the national history writing. In term of theme, the posibility for the local hidtory materials writing and develoment is interesting and open. However, there is a challenge, which is the limitation in gaining the historical resources, particularly the written one. Therefore, the local history material development in Indonesia relies on the oral tradition and oral history.

Abstract

Sejarah lisan dapat menganalisa dan mengevaluasi sifat dari proses memori sejarah. Bagaimana seseorang mampu mengaktualisasikan masa lalunya, bagaimana menghubungkan pengalaman seseorang dalam konteks sosialnya, dan bagaimana orang menggunakan sumber-sumber lisan untuk menginterpretasikan kehidupan mereka sebagai bagian masa lalu dan menjadi masa kini.Sejarah lisan diperlukan untuk merekonstruksi sejarah Indonesia kontemporer, penggunaan teknik sejarah lisan sangat penting. Sebab para pelaku sejarah yang masih hidup, dapat melengkapi khasanah sumber- sumber sejarah sebagai modal bagi penulisan sejarah dan penelusuran sumber sejarah.

Abstract

Artikel ini menganalisi mengenai nilai moral yang terkandung dalam buku teks pelajaran sejarah wajib pada kelas X. Historiografi berasal dari bahasa latin history,  historia,  yang berarti sejarah, bukti, bijaksana dan graaf.  Sedangkan pengertian harfiah dari historiografi adalah tulisan tentang sejarah. Namun, sebagai sebuah ilmu, historiografi merupakan bagian dari ilmu sejarah yang mempelajari hasil-hasil dari tulisan atau karya sejarah dari generasi ke generasi, dari jaman ke jaman. Dalam berbagai literatur asing, buku pelajaran diistilahkan dengan textbook. Buku pelajaran adalah media pembelajaran (instruksional) yang dominan peranannya di kelas; media penyampaian materi kurikulum; dan bagian sentral dalam suatu sistem pendidikan. pembentukan karakter atau watak anak dapat dilakukan melalui tiga kerangka pikir, yaitu konsep moral (moral knowing), sikap moral (moral feeling), dan perilaku moral (moral behavior). Dengan demikian, hasil pembentukan sikap karakter anak pun dapat dilihat dari tiga aspek, yaitu konsep moral, sikap moral, dan perilaku moral. Dalam menganalisis wacana ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dipandang tepat untuk dijadikan dasar penelitian bagi seorang peneliti.

Abstract

This Working Paper is actually a wide research plan of its effort to review Indonesianess spirit which is lately facing a hard test and challenge. The odd thing is the threat to Indonesianess continue to occur when the age of NKRI (Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia) becomes older and older (currently, the age is 66 years old) and the macro economy is developed more (included in G20 Countries), the world respects formal existence of any country, human rights, the information technology development becomes more sophisticated.There are sufficient reasons to prepare indications that the glue for Indonesianess becomes more fragile and experiences deterotiation process. The question may arise: awhat is the glue and adhesive material for Indonesian people and what is the function of the flue and adhesive material in formation and development process of Indonesian nation? This glue and adhesive material are very important because Indonesian nation is formed by various and different ethnic, social, religion, race which in pre-Indonesian era, they became the cause of any serious conflict. Moreover, in many cases, race and ethnic become the glue in formation process of nation. In relation to the question concerning the glue and adhesive material in Indonesian nation formation process, leaders of the first national movement quoted Ernest Renan opinion that the collective wish and hope (in order to become a nation) will become the glue and adhesive material of the nation itself. He said that a nation is a soul, a  spiritual  principle.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to study the form of Tareqat Akmaliyah movement in Banyumas Residency, Central Java, as the effect of the cultivation system applied in this area. The method used in this study is qualitative one, especially which is usually practiced in historical research, such as heuristics, critics, interpretation and explanation. In practice the cultivation system took a long time to grow and cultivate the plantation; hence the workers had little or no time at all to work at their own soil. Consequently, their families suffered a lot as their sawah or fields laid bare without producing food for their daily needs. In the long run, as these conditions getting worst, the families endured malnutrition, hunger, and high rate of mortality. Poverty forced these peasants and their families to make up and adjust new actions, attitudes, habits, and traditions as forms of self-defence mechanism to survive from the threat of oppression and exploitation. As one form their resistance against the cultivation system was social upheaval in the form of social moverment such as messianic movement.
