In political education, our judges to all human behaviorsto gain power are presented, learnt and inherited to the next generation. In contemporary Indonesian context, these two fold fieldsare urgent to discuss. The discussion must consider some important matters, such as pluralism in Indonesian society, human right fulfillment, model of democracy wanted to build and the efforts to gain social justice.

Abstract

Oftentimes, the link between ethics and business escapes our notice. Business practices in Indonesia often wax corruptive and conspiring, with the misuse of representation and power, and rife with immorality. Yet, business is precisely often related to economic power and the ways of controlling it. Ethics allows the science of business to develop virtues through each action that involves the use of economic power. Truly ethical conduct is the dream of every man. That is why doing business should not be equated to "dirty play". Aristotle can become a reference point for the study of national ideals organized by a government that is just and good. The discussion of this topic takes the mudflow case of Lapindo in Sidoarjo as an example. We hope that this study could be a little contribution to the study of ethics in the national life of Indonesia and the social life of our people, two things that one feels is continually sinking into the mire as time passes

Abstract

To speak of bonum commune from the standpoint of the tradition of the In- donesian Catholic Church, this paper does not emphasize the theories of thinkers or their leaders. The priority is precisely the “struggle practices” of the Catholics seeking “conditions of inner and outer well-being” for each individual citizen and community groups in the life of the Indonesian nation. From there it is hoped that the relevance of the idea of bonum commune can be found and its significance for living together. At the pragmatic level, the benchmarks are of course the fruits for the Indonesian people. Normatively, ideologically, the measure is its compatibility with the principles of nation and state, namely Pancasila and Bhinneka Tung- gal Ika. In order for the discussion to be on its track to understand the bonum commune according to Church doctrine, a few items of understanding from the Church's official sources were previously presented. This study was directed at the first period of the Catholic Party's journey, covering the period from its establishment until the recognition of the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia by the Dutch Government on December 27, 1949. The recognition it self was the final result of the Round Table Conference (Ronde Tafel Conferentie), namely a meeting between the Netherlands and Indonesia in The Hague, the Netherlands on August 23 to November 2, 1949. The two periods after that, namely the period of liberal democracy and guided democracy as well as the initial period of the New Order to fusion into the Indonesian Democratic Party, are expected to be discussed in other opportunities . Keywords: Catholic, Indonesia, Bonum Commue

Abstract

This paper tries to uncover the dynamics of communalism in Indonesia inthe history of the nation and tries to study it in the realm of philosophical thought.Communalism is based on kinship, regionalism, religion, ethnic identity and oth-ers as a binding and impetus for each individual to prioritize the community overhis own interests as an individual. Communalism is closely related to public policy because communalism always acts on behalf of the public interest in making public policy and communalism demands the obedience of all citizens to carry outpublic policy. Communalism in Indonesia is not a representation of each individ-ual's awareness of their rights and obligations, but a representation of communal /community identity, so that who is the leader and communal figure will determinepublic policy.

Abstract

Populism as a phenomenon is developing in countries throughout the world. The failure of democracy as a system of government is a major factor in the emergence of populism. Indonesia has only stepped on 20 years of the reign of democracy, religious populism has emerged in fertile fields. The elections of 2016 and 2019 became a phenomenon of the great success of populism in Indonesia. Religious populism can be created because there are three main constituent elements, namely: the people, the elite, the public will. Religious populism arises because ideology can give symbolic legitimacy to control public space. In the face of challenges, the social, global economy comes in the middle, religious populism provides promises of certainty and motivation. The existence of information media that positions everyone can be a source of information about lies so that social polarization appears. Abstract

TheTanean Lanjhangtradition is a reflection of the life of the Maduresepeople.Tanean Lanjhangby itself will shape the lifestyle ofthe Madurese peoplefrom generation to generation, because the values taught in the life of the TaneanLanjhangtraditioncontinuetotransformtothenextgenerationasthevalueofmo-rality. Thus, this article will describe the ethics of theMadurese community basedon implied values and philosophies or proverbs in the Tanean Lanjhang traditionwhich are still taught in the life of  the Madurese people. The ethics referred to inthis discussion are descriptive ethics which only describe moral behavior in abroad sense. Descriptive ethics is only describing and does not provide an assess-ment of whether a certain behavior can be accepted or should be rejected. This de-scriptive ethics discussion of the Tanean Lanjhang tradition will by itself describethe personality or identity of the Madurese people.
