Abstract

Assessment of education is a very important aspect in education. Given the purpose and function of assessment is a barometer of the implementation study conducted at an educational institution, including college. To get the actual assessment, comprehensive planning should be done about the process that will be done. And ensure that the implementation of an examination or assessment carried out in compliance with the prerequisites that have been determined by each institution. Accountability of educational institutions including universities are also affected by the implementation of the accountability exam. Therefore, evaluation of the assessment system at universities is important to be done in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This research goal is to discern the implementation of PAI educational at Private Madrasah, especially covering the characteristic of students, of teachers, tools and equipments, students’ learning motivation, and teaching preparation instrument to support the daily learning activities by teachers, students’ participation in classes and personal relationship conducted by teachers in learning activities, resulting to student achievement at Madrasah Ma’arif. This research is implementation evaluation research conducted using descriptive quantitative data approach using Stake Model. Data collected using questioner, observation, interviews, documented and analyzed with descriptive statistic approach. The result given using distributed table and pie chart. Analyzing technique used by this research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The result explain that in general students’ parents at four madrasah has been researched is a farm worker and secondary schools graduate, students’ learning motivation at four schools shows good measures. Over all teachers at four schools has a graduate; however, teaching preparation conducted by teachers at four schools has been running good. The availability of tools and equipments at four schools has been researched was not sufficient yet; however, the learning process conducted by teachers at four schools has been researched has been running good. The students’ participation at learning process at four schools has been researched conclude a low indicator; however, the personal relationship conducted by teachers and students has been running good. The students achievement at four schools has been researched fulfill the needs criteria and the academic achievement which resulting good attitudes at four schools has been researched show a good condition.

Abstract

The research of cases study is aimed to describe and understanding indepth about the educational management in pesantren (Islamic boarding school) in the efforts of santries (Islamic student in pesantren) quality improvement in Madrasah Salafiyah III Komplek Q Krapyak Yogyakarta. The research of cases study is qualitative research that naturalistic kinds. The research technical’s used observations, indepth interviews, and documentations. Data analysis’s used data assemble, data display, data reduction, then some conclutions. The conclution of this research is functions of educational management in Madrasah Salafiyah III that first, there is educational planning in madrasah (Islamic school) still in learning planning around. Second, educational organizations in madrasah that covered in organization structure there are job descriptions, functions, be competent, task appropriates clearly to employees. Third, principals of madrasah as leader that institution is kyai (leader in pesantren) assistant to manage educational pesantren, so educational in madrasah can be effective. Fourth, educational controlling in madrasah is supervised, monitoring, and evaluation who principals apply by helped his subordinates. The efforts of santri quality improvement applying by madrasah as continue both to determine standard of santri quality, improving of management madrasah, and improving human resources that santri and ustadz (teacher in pesantren). Improving santri quality is take many programs like use entry test in madrasah, practice of teaching experiences, make science labor (end task), halaqah bahtsul masail al haditsah (discussion of studying up date problems), give the rewards to sanri’s achievement, khithabah (speech)  fourth  languages,  dzibaiyyah (reads  shalawat  to  Muhammad SAW prophet), tahlil, halaqah ta’lim, sorogan (private) kitab dan Quran, science daurah and tematic study. Programs of improving ustadz quality like workshop of asatidzs, discussions of ustadz studied, periode seminars, and make science labor.

Abstract

Among the philosophers of education in general, as Broudy (1961) states that the philosophy of education is seen as a systematic discussion about education issues at a philosophical level, which is investigating the issue of education until reduced to the subject matter of metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, logic, aesthetics or a combination of all these. In the discussion of philosophy of education, these problems can be simplified into three main issues, namely the view of the reality studied by metaphysics or ontology, the view of the knowledge learned by the epistemology, and views on values learned by the axiology. On the other hand, the development of thinking  Islamic education can be seen from the pattern of Islamic thought that flourished in the Islamic world in this modern period, especially the challenging and changing times and the era of modernity. Accordingly, Abdullah (1996) examine the existence of four models of Islamic thought, namely (1) textual Salafi Model, (2) Mazhabi traditionalists Model, (3) Modernist Model, and (4) Neo-Modernist Model. Typology further highlight the modernist Islamic educational insights modification free, progressive and dynamic in the face and respond to the demands and needs of their communities, so that Islamic education serves as an attempt to reconstruct a continuous experience, in order to do something intelligent and able to make adjustments and readjustments in accordance with the demands and needs of the environment in the present.

Abstract

National Standardization of Education (NSE) aims to ensure the quality of national education in forming intellectual, character and civilization of the nation's dignity. NSE improved in a planning, directing, and sustaining in accordance with the demands of changes in local, national, and global. The standardization of education is also expected to move the stakeholders of education and educational managers to compete in improving student quality as the core of education that deliver them to achieve the standards set. Education creating intellectual abilities without wakened conscience would result in a fragile human soul and the hollow in the face real life challenges. Education is expected to have “soul” that inceases values incluiding Intelligenci Quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Spiritual Quotient (SQ).

Abstract

Today many educational institutions in Indonesia which is developing a superior education system, including institutions of Islamic education. Islamic schools or madrasah are the flagship of Islamic educational institutions that create superior organizational culture and climate and effective. Development of pre-eminent organization of Islamic schools seem reflected in human resources (teachers, staff, and students) facilities, as well as other supporting facilities to produce graduates who are intellectually astute, have a certain spiritual sturdy. This paper has produced a review and new view on the development of madrasah and Islamic schools of excellence. To develop the pre-eminent Islamic schools or madrasah, are needed: (1) carrying capacity of an effective and functional, such as a superior human resources, facilities and infrastructure (classrooms representative, libraries and laboratories), support facilities (boarding, mosque). (2) Careful planning and mature designed in accordance with the vision, mission and objectives of the institutional school, requires analyzing the needs of academic and institutional systems, and understand the geographical and cultural context. (3) Building a shared commitment, and build mind set collectively, always give priority to continuous innovation, and utilizing information technology as an effective learning resource.

Abstract

Today’s globalization need to be watched out. Though its presence brought many changes to the aspect of technological advancements, we have to anticipate the excesses caused. Due to the presence of globalization and the resulting excesses, the behavior of the Indonesian change following the Western culture (Westernization) which adheres to liberalism. This thing is feared to be able to shift the values ​​of the locality which for centuries became characteristics of the Indonesian in having a character of heroic, nationalism, courtesy and hospitality in accordance with the norms of oriental. Based on the above phenomenon, we  need to formulate and promote a character education nation paradigm in order to strengthen the identity of Indonesia. Locality-values ​​that can be included in the character building of having nationalism is the ideas of Ki Hajar Dewantara that are the "Lawan Sastra Ngesti Mulya, Suci Tata Ngesti Tunggal, Tetep-Mantep-Antep, Ngandel-Kendel-Bandel-Kandel, Neng-Ning-Nung-Nang” who all showed Indonesian identity.

Abstract

The greatest assignment for all elements in this country is to bridge the gap between democratic ideals that emerged and broached by the founding fathers and with the current real life situation of Indonesian democracy with enormous number of problems. The ideal and elegant of democratic aspiration - as stated in the Pancasila – is in contrast with the real conditions of contemporary democracy that bloated with egoistic conflicts of interest and social mess. Yet, Pancasila calls for democracy - through mass consultative mechanisms – directed to bring out social justice for all Indonesian people. This paper attempts to disclose the discourse about how democracy should be taught and deployed within the Indonesianism frame. It worth to be put forward because Indonesian has a particularly different current of history and cultural mold in comparison to other countries. Therefore, the interpretation and implementation of democracy must be re-investigated and re-explored from the history and culture of Indonesia itself, rather than taken for granted taken from the foreign cultures-mainly Western-which may not be compatible with the Indonesian characteristics. With deep understanding, the actual values ​​of democracy by Indonesian characterized, recorded on the precepts contained in the Pancasila markedly. Each precept of the Pancasila is core characteristic of cultural values of every ethnic groups in Indonesia. This is initiated in order to enlive Pancasila and turn every action in the name of nation and state.

Abstract

Learning mechanism based on character building is structured in inter-effecting three phases of learning; planning, engagement and evaluation. Lesson plan based on character development comprised of various aspects related with the educational system elected by particular school/madrasah. Therefore, Lesson plan based on character building is employed in all school subjects. There is an interconnection among the school subjects in passing down the values that brings of character education perpetually. It shall not be halted by employment at specific classes. As necessary, school/madrasah may develop the values of character building as pasrt of formal curriculum.

Abstract

The concept of inner beauty in Islam refers to the appeal that radiates from within a person. The radiance of the inner beauty is reflected in moral quality, in managing one-self, in self-control, and in wisdom while dealing with life problems. This is the truest concept of inner beauty. However, it differs in common practice, for people prefer to pursue physical form of beauty, and dismiss the true beauty of personality and morality. This paper would like to remind the importance of moral education and provide new understanding of the concept of beauty within ourselves and that the development of inner beauty comes from the molding of dignifying morality, not out of polishing the physical appearance, but of refinement of behavior.
