Abstract

Hermeneutic as interpretation knowledge can be classified into three categories: objective, subjective, and liberation. 1). Objective hermeneutic means an effort to interpret and to understand the meaning of text as the author means. 2). Subjective hermeneutic means an effort to interpret and to understand the meaning of text based on the social context at this time without any consideration to the author thought. 3). Liberation hermeneutic means an effort to interpret and to understand the meaning of text based on the spirit of circumstance and try to make the result of interpretation as the spirit to change the life and the circumstance of the interpreter and the reader. In Islamic perspective, objective hermeneutic can be compared with tafsir bi al-ma’tsur, and subjective hermeneutic can be compared with tafsir bi al-ra’y.  However, hermeneutical discourse has been giving much contribution for the development of interpretation knowledge, so it can appear hermeneutic of liberation. It is a new penetration. If it is applied in Islam, interpretation does not only understand the meaning of al-Qur’an text as God means or based on the context, but also an effort how to make the result of interpretation as the spirit for Muslim society to change their society become better and the best.Keyword: hermeneutic, tafsir and tradision.

Abstract

Human being is unique being and typical, therefore, when comprehending human being only by using scientific method, it will not be adequate enough, for that reason it has been raised a confidence method, ratiocination method, authority method, and intuition method as alternative method beside of scientific method. Furthermore, the existence of those alternative methods emerged four model of research that can be conducted in line to development of Islamic psychology.Keywords: scientific method and Islamic psychology method

Abstract

Marital rape is the practice widely happened in various parts of countries. The main cause of the case is the perception, which regards the position of men, is higher than women. This is contrary to the principles of Islam. Islam regards all people are equal in humanity, and denounce all forms of violence and oppression, especially in a conjugal relation. Actually, from all forms of violence and oppression, al-Qur’an clearly denounces not only marital rape, but also all kind of oppression and violence, especially those related to women. Therefore, all that lead to  the disadvantage of women is forbidden. Polygamy, divorce, revocation (ruju`) with negative motives, prostitution, raping, and all that humiliate holistic values are denounced by God.Keywords: Islam, marital rape.

Abstract

Potency of human being soul, according to al-Farabi, consisted of the grow energy (vegetative), momentum (animal), illusive energy (imagine), natural existence energy (ratio) and feel energy. We obtain our knowledge by externals senses related to momentum, and internal senses existing in illusive energy, also the intellect existing in natural existence energy.However, this intellect is unlike ratio. It resides above ratio, because ratio works and thinks only pursuant to data of senses, whereas intellect works pursuant to radiation from "above" (divine being), so that there's no mistaking. Intellect consists of 4 levels: potential intellect, actual intellect, acquirement intellect, and active intellect. In the process of knowledge, active intellect is source of human being knowledge obtained after we powered potential and actual intellect.Keywords: energy of soul and intellect.

Abstract

STAIN Malang as one of institute of higher education does not stop to race in realizing its mission and vision in order to reach target of National education. Hence from that STAIN chooses certain lecturer as Counselor academic to give tuition, motivate and the advice to student academically, furthermore, in certain boundary, students really need academic adviser to support their learning process and in developing their potency. Pursuant to the background, problem and purpose of this research is to know the function and the role academic adviser in STAIN Malang.Population in this research is all students of STAIN Malang in first semester of academic year 2002-2003 amounts to 4641 students. The sample is 10% from population by random sampling technique. The method using in collecting data is questioner as prior method, beside that, documentation method and interview as support method. To test validity and reliability of measuring instrument used computer with SPS program of Sutrisno Hadi and Yuni Pamardiningsih, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta. To analyze data use technique percentage.Academic advisers in STAIN Malang have conducted his function and role as student motivator and counselor well but not optimal yet.Keywords: role, function, and academic adviser.

Abstract

There`s no prohibition in Islam  for a wife to  become a career woman. On the contrary, Islam encourages all Muslims including women to work and  to be career women as long as their works are  in accordance with their natures. There are many ways that can be performed by a career woman to help creating a happy family. A career woman as a wife, she must always keep allegiance to her husband. She must be able to convince her husband that she is a good wife, her life and all what she does is only devoted to her family. As a mother, a career woman must consistently take care and educate her children. As a social member, she must actively participate in social activities. All her activities must be done in balance without neglecting the one for the others. Keywords: career woman, Islam,  happy family

Abstract

It is the fact, that the thought of western psychology has expand speedy, and adopted by many scholars, include us. However, it does not mean that there is no flawed in western psychology. For instance, Freud’s psychoanalysis is considered over simplified and cannot explain some problems such as fitrah in Islam, John Lock’s behaviorist did not admit human intrinsic potencies which empirically cannot be denied, in addition, humanistic of Maslow have ignored factor and the role of God in the human life. Islamic psychology comes into being to respond for the lack of western psychology theories. There are two ways in developing Islamic psychology; praxis and theoretic. Praxis method means developing Islamic psychology based on what have been developed by western psychology then we filter it and search the legitimacy for it; meanwhile, theoretic method means developing Islamic psychology based on the teaching and resources of Islamic knowledge itself. Abstract

Religion and science are two different entities, but they are often faced or even contrasted. Therefore, to avoid clash or collide they should have been analyze from some aspects such as ontological, epistemological, and cosmological, to see their similarity and their differences, and then looking for relations that can be build between both.There are four relational typology of religion and science: (1) Conflict; opposing between both, (2) Independent; each of both has its own area and subject, (3) Dialogue; try to develop dialogue between both based on their similarity and their differences, and (4) integration; try to looking for point of encounter between their differences.  Keywords: philosophic analyzes and relational typology of religion and science.

Abstract

Stressing only on creative strategy  (theme, lay out, color, typography, or special effect), it has not been sufficient yet, for designing an advertisement. We need to consider need for cognition (NFC) of consumers. NFC is individual need for think and understand information carefully and clearly.Understanding NFC of consumers properly will make the design of an advertisement appropriate its aim, means that an advertisement get to the point of delivering information of product and influence the attitude of consumers to the product.Keywords: advertisement, need for cognition (NFC), and consumers.

Abstract

Islamization of psychology, in fact, is the effort to meet between Islamic doctrines and theories of psychology, or an effort how to explain psychological problem in the way of Islamic perspective. To achieve this purpose, there are two methods: pragmatism and idealism.Pragmatism method is an effort to appear Islamic psychology by giving priority on practice realization; adopted theories of western psychology, which has been establish, then searching for legitimating from the sacred text both al-Qur’an and hadits. In other side, idealism method is an effort to develop Islamic psychology based on the teaching and resources of Islamic knowledge itself. Furthermore, the theories of Islamic psychology that have been resulted is compared to the western psychology theories.Keywords: Psychology, Western, and Islam.
