Abstract

Every student has the hope of achieving maximum or satisfactory learning achievement in his studies. An initial survey conducted on a number of students at the psychology faculty of Unmer Malang found that students experienced symptoms that led to academic failure, where the symptoms were: often not focused or unable to concentrate during lectures, easily gave up when faced with difficulties, felt unable to do work. tasks well, decreased interest in learning, doubting their own abilities, learning is considered a burden and something boring. One way to overcome this problem, students make a diversion by playing smartphones. This has a negative impact on the decline in student achievement. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nomophobia on student academic failure. The research design uses a quantitative survey approach, with the data collection technique using random sampling. After going through the regression test, it was found that there was an influence of nomophobia on academic failure of 0.211 (21.1%) on academic failure, which means that the hypothesis in this study was accepted.

Abstract

This study aimed at testing the correlation between adversity quotient and entrepreneurship intention on culinary art students of SMKN 9 Padang. The proposed hypothesis is there is a correlation between adversity quotient and entrepreneurship intention on culinary art students of SMKN 9 Padang. Sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling technique with 149 students as research sample. The instrument used are adversity quotient scale that is consist of 44 items (rx-0,884) and entrepreneurship intention scale that is consist of 20 items (rx=0,980). The data was analyzed with product moment from Pearson analysis. Using SPSS program resulted in the value of r=594 with p=0,000 (p0,001). The result of the study indicated that adversity quotient correlated positively with the entrepreneurship intention on the culinary students of SMKN 9 Padang.

Abstract

Cheating is illegal, dishonest and cheating in getting answer during test or doing assignment.  Cheating is a problem and a long standing phenomenon in the world of education.  An unfavorable scholl climate is one of the causes of a decline in academic integrity. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between scholl climate and academic cheating behavior in high scholl students in Malang. This research is a quantitative study with research subjects 83 students of SMA Panjura Malang. Using a proportionate stratified random sampling technique with a scale of cheating behavior and school climate scale. The results showed that there was a relationship between school climate and student cheating behavior, where the more positive the school climate the students get, the lower the cheating behavior. Conversely, the lower the school climate the students get, the higher the cheating behavior of students in school. Based on the results of calculations show, the correlation index is -0.415 with a sign value. 0.000 (p 0.05).

Abstract

Academically resilient students are students who are able to effectively deal with four conditions wich are, setback, challenges, adversity, and pressure in the academic context. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between social support and academic resilience of overseas students who are working on thesis. The subjects in this study were students part of Maluku Utara – Malang Student Association (IPMA - MUM) who were working on thesis, with 72 students. The sampling technique in this study is saturated sample. This research method uses quantitative research by collecting data using the scale of academic resilience and social support scale with the likert model. In order to obtain the results of hypothesis testing with a correlation index of 0.469 with a significant level of 0.000 so that the results of this study indicate a positive correlation which means the higher social support that individuals get, the higher the academic resilience and vice versa.

Abstract

Studies about the role of music therapy to the completion of mathematical questions on three subjects (N=3), children with attention deficit symptoms were placed at psychology service center for children with special need, at Malang. Music therapy was applied, where the children is only listening to the music without any activities in 10 minutes. The aim of music therapy are to condition the children in order to be more calm and ready to accept the lesson well. Data collection used were within-subject design. Data analyzed used a chi square for one sample test. The result showed that there were effect of music therapy to the completion of mathematical questions on children with attention deficit symptoms. The accuracy effect turned into two from three of the subject (p= 0,05) and the speed effect turned into two from three of the subject (p= 0,05).

Abstract

Basically preschool age children should be aware that each individual has thoughts, feelings, desires, and other mental conditions which is different from himself. This awareness is known as theory of mind, and one of the factors that could be expected to stimulate the ability of theory of mind is the intensity of the interaction between children and their siblings. The basic concept of the theory used in this study is the cognitive development of sociocultural perspectives of leading experts Lev Vygotsky. The study was conducted in three schools Kindergarten (TK) in Yogyakarta, with the subject as much as 31 children aged 47-69 months. The measurements used are false belief task, and Scale "intensity of interaction between children and siblings" were made by researchers. Siblings age limit is a maximum of 12 years of age brother and sister at least 1 year of age. Data analysis using binary logistic regression analysis, the results of analysis show that the value of Wald 1.036 (p> 0.05), so it can be concluded that the intensity of the interaction between children and siblings are not able to predict the ability of theory of mind. It is suspected the influence of siblings and their age difference in the way children interact with siblings between Western and Eastern cultures, including cultures in Indonesia

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of parenting on social anxiety in adolescents. This study involved 230 adolescents with authoritarian parenting with an average 30.37. Retrieval of data using Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ), Liebowitz Anxiety Scale- Children and Adolecents (LSAS-CA). Significance test shows F count 107.678. Significant conclusion of this model and can be used to predict the role of authoritarian parenting to social anxiety in adolescents. The result showed that social anxiety in adolescents can be affected by direct authoritarian parenting.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identify and explains the bullying behavior among adolescent, especially in the orphanage. The research was also to investigate the effect of peer attachment and self-esteem on orphanage adolescent of bullying behavior.  This research involved about 270 adolescent (13-18 years old, M=15,40 years old, S.D.=1,275) which stayed in 14 orphanages in the Malang city. The collection of data was using the instruments of the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA), the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) and the Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument (APRI). The results of this research show us that peer attachment and self-esteem is take effect very significant on orphanage adolescent of bullying behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the educational playing game based on media to improve numerical ability on  second grade student at  SDN Wonotirto, Bulu, Temanggung. The subject were 10 student, that divided into two groups, experimental group (5 students) and control group (5 students). They are second grade student at SDN Wonotirto, Bulu, Temanggung. The design of experiment which used is pretest and posttest control group design. The methods of data analysis techniques  use Mann - Whitney U. The result of the data analysis showed a significant differences between post-test of experimental group and the control group with level of p = 0.032. It means there are differences numerical ability between the control group and the experimental group. The mean score of the experimental group after the treatment was given greater compared with the control group (7.5 > 3.5). So, educational playing game based on media is effective to improve the numerical ability

Abstract

This reserach aimed to determine the effectiveness of the training of career planning to improves the self efficacy in career decision making. As the design of study, the research used randomized pre test – post test with control group design. This study used 30 students as the subjects, which divided into two groups: 15 subjects as the experimental group and 15 subjects as the control group. Scale of the self efficacy incareer decision making was used to collecting the data, which was prepared by researcher. The results of the analysis using the Independent Sample t-Test showed that, t= 4.412 and p=0,000 (p<0,05). The results of the analysis using thePaired Sample t-Test showed that, t=-6.400 and p=0,001 (p<0,05). Therefore, it can be concluded that the training of the career planning could be increased the self efficacy in career decision making.
