Abstract

One of the calling of Heavenly father for many people is a calling of serving Him.This calling is given to every human being, but every human has a right to accept orreject it. In a wide definition of serving the work of evangelism not only run bypastors in a church, but also by the teacher in the school, literature evangelismthrough books they share door to door an offices and also deacons as Stephen andPhilip in the bible also a seamstress named Dorcas share the word of God by sew thedress for the poor people. Therefore God’s people should the in everything theycould. Ezekiel 34:12 wrote “As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he iswith them, so will look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places wherethey were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.” Based on this background sothe Identification of the problem of this research are:1. What is the feature of the good shepherd based on Ezekiel 34:12? The featureof a good Shepherd means they have to know their responsibility as the caretaker ofthe sheep. The good shepherd never compromise with their responsibility as theshepherd who always being trusted in every kind of serving.2. What the feature application of a good shepherd? They have a characteristic ofa shepherd who always keeps the right of a shepherd to the church and have integritywere prospect by the church. Keep the right means never fail.3. What is the understanding of the member of Seventh-day Adventist Church inToumou Tou Bandung about the feature of the shepherd in his daily responsibility,works, and leadership based on Ezekiel 34:12. In a leadership of a pastor/shepherd,he has to be something to follow or good example that can be imitate by the churchmember, so the church member are able to be better in serving in the church and inthe society. Pastor as a shepherd should always take care of them and find the losingand bring them back to the stable of God so they are protected their spirituality andphysical needs.

Abstract

The author gives title to this study, “The Understanding of the Merbabu Seventh-dayAdventist Church Bandung about the Way of Living of the Early Church Based onActs 2: 44.45.” The author is motivated by the way of life of the church today that isalready away from the way of life of the church should, like the way of life of theearly church. At the present time many churches who do not care to about the poor,the church members had no care for other people who are around them, it can beseen in the church, that there was the rich and the poor. The author chose MerbabuBandung church to be a place of the research of the author. The author will discussthree issues in this writing. First, how the understanding of the Merbabu churchabout this verses, the second is, how the experts of the bible comments related to thispassage, and the third, according to this verse, how should be the church life, or doesthis verses only for the early church, or to the church in these days also.Answering the field conclusion, the authors have conducted research in thecongregation Merbabu, it turns out the church generally has been understood aboutthe meaning of the verse in Acts 2: 44.45. The Church should have a special cash tohelp poor people who are in the church. But not only the church, but each memberas individual base must be attentive to the needs of their fellow man in need. Inconclusion theory, the Bible experts gave their comments with respect thereto. EarlyChurch can perform these characteristics due to several important factors. The giftof their love of Christ among them, the Holy Spirit is with them after the event ofPentecost. These things allow members of the early church to care for one another.Therefore, it ought to God's people today live life together. The congregation iscurrently devoted by God to care for the poor that is between them, in the practice ofstewardship, the church is also a place where all people get the attention of others. Inaddition, church members, as well as individuals, should pay attention to each other,just like what was done by the members of the early church

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine Ellen White’s concept of sanctificationor spiritual holiness. Ellen White’s definition of sanctification is biblical, gradual,maturing process and a goal for Christian living. She agrees on the point that twoelements of justification are distinctive even though they are inseparable, and thatjustification is the starting point for spirituality. She points out that sanctificationexperience is as importance to say as for that final judgment because withoutholiness no one can see God. She considers Christian life as pilgrimage and holinessor sanctification as fitness for heaven. She recognizes that sanctification is not justan emotional thing but it must be manifested inwardly and outwardly in a genuineChristian life. She emphasizes the importance of genuine faith that manifests bygood works. She recognizes the Holy Spirit as the agent of sanctification, salvationas restoring man in the image of his Marker, perfection as growing in love rather thatfaultless or sinless, and holy living as Christian purpose of existence

Abstract

In this study, the authors examined the causes of why the new members of seventhday Adventist church did not survive in the congregation at Cihampelas Bandungchurch based on Colossians 2: 7. This study focuses on four indicators namely:What is the message of Colossians 2:7; what is the main causes of new members didnot survive in the church; what is the reason of the new members survived in thechurch; and what is the message Colossians 2: 7 to maintain new members.Generally, the church aims to bring people who are not converted into the fellowshipof the believers. The Seventh-Day Adventist Church is a organization blessed byGod with many souls that joining in the church through baptism, but most of thepeople who just join in the church did not survive in the church until the end of theirlives.In order to be faithful members and retaining the faith and trust that has been ownedby the new members of the Apostle Paul urged members of the newly christened ithas: (1) The roots are strong and sturdy in Jesus, which means emptying oneself ofearthly things and be one with Jesus; (2) Has a built Faith in Jesus means to haveunity of a close relationship with Jesus; (3) Growing fast in the faith that has beentaught that meant stay focused on the truth that has been obtained and is not affectedby the false teachings that exist around them; (4) Has the abundant life withThanksgiving greeting that indicates that the person has grown in his faith.Based on the results of this research, conducted by the author then there are fourthings of the main cause why the new members did not survive in the church: a coldwelcome from members - old members and employees of the church; Lack ofstudying the Bible before being baptized; Temptation of old habits (such as smoking,drinking, etc.); and lack of visiting the new members who just being baptized by thepastor and church employees. And also based on the results of interviews with 15people who were no longer active in the church, there are 9 people who cannot go tochurch because they were working on the Sabbath. Based on the results of theresearch questionnaire then there are three things that the main cause of newmembers to survive in the church: a good motive of every member of the newlybaptized to seek the Truth; Friendly relations were familiar with the old members inthe church; Attention and affection on the show members of the old to the newmembers.After the authors look at thecauses, the author concluded that due to the newmembers did not survive in the church is therefore less mature in knowledge of realtruth. That’s why before a person accepts Jesus as his/her personal Savior, he need tobe guided as much as possible in order to know surely the Faith to the real JesusChrist. Old members also need to help the new members who joined in the growth oftheir faith so that they can grow well into adulthood in their newly acquired faith.

Abstract

Leadership is one aspect that the world needed right now. As a Christian, biblicalleadership can be found in the bible in numerous characters. Christian leadership isan aspect that is rare and profound in this day and age. Mrs. White even stated aboutcharacteristics of the people who can stand for the right in the midst of a messyworld. Mrs. White said, “the greatest want of the world is the want of men—menwho will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest,men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true toduty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavensfall.”1The Bible mentions many people who possessed this trait of leadership, such asJoseph, Daniel, Paul, even Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, but the concentration ofthis article is the man who succeeded Moses, which was Joshua.

Abstract

Jesus gave the right steps in resolving conflicts among the people of God. Thesecond phase after meeting privately is to call witnesses who can help resolve theproblem. There are two types of witnesses who need to be considered to help solvethose problems, the first witnesses are those regarded as wise, trustworthy, impartialand have the motivation to help in resolving the problem, and the second witness isone who sees or record an event that never happened and honestly, impartially anddared to tell the truth.

Abstract

Amanat Agung diberikan oleh Tuhan Yesus sebagai pesan terakhir yang wajib untukdilaksanakan oleh semua umat yang menyatakan dirinya sebagai orang percaya.Sebagai umat yang sekaligus menjadi bagian dari komunitas orang-orang percaya,anggota jemaat dipanggil untuk melakukan bagiannya dalam penginjilan. Abstract

Musa adalah seorang pemimpin yang terkenal didalam Alkitab, khususnya didalam KitabPerjanjian Lama. Di dalam Kitab Ulangan 20 didapati dalam memimpin bangsa Israel Musadan Harun mencoba memberikan pengarahan peranan mereka sebagai seorang pemimpin.Kisah tentang Musa dan Harun mennunjukan dosa yang mencegah mereka memasuki tanahperjanjian. Sebagai pemimpin bangsa Israel, Musa memberikan pengarahan dan instruksiagar bangsa Israel dapat menurut akan perintah Allah. Adanya persungutan yang dilakukanoleh bangsa Israel menyebabkan membuka pertengkaran didalam kepemimpinan Musa danmungkin telah menyebabkan dia menjadi jengkel dan bertindak tidak sesuai dengan arahanTuhan. Keputusan yang dilakukan seorang pemimpin merupakan peran ketaatan dalammemimpin umat Allah dan bagaimana dapat mempengaruhi peran dalam kepemimpinan.

Abstract

Pemuridan adalah merupakan tugas yang harus dilakukan oleh semua pengikutKristus seperti yang diperintahkan-Nya kepada para murid-Nya dalam Matius28:19-20 sebelum Dia naik ke Surga. Pekerjaan untuk menjadikan orangmenjadi murid Kristus atau pemuridan adalah merupakan suatu keharusan,sebab hal ini adalah merupakan cara terbaik untuk mengabarkan injil keseluruh dunia, agar dengan demikian Kristus boleh datang ke dunia sepertiyang disebutkan dalam Matiius 24:14. Selain Kristus,rasul Paulus adalahmerupakan teladan yang baik dan yang perlu diikuti dalam melakukanpemuridan. Prinsip-prinsip dan dasar-dasar pemuridan Paulus perlu dipahamiagar para pemimpin gereja dapat melakukan pemuridan dengan baik. Agarsetiap umat Tuhan dapat melakukan penginjilan dan menjadikan orang menjadimurid Kristus, prinsip-prinsip dan prosedur pemuridan Paulus perlu diketahui.

Abstract

Injustice will bring social problems, especially in terms of economy. This will bringup the poverty and misery in the midst of society. The Church played important rolein overcoming poverty and also become one of the responsibilities of Jesus’followers. Christianity must concern and caring to the poor and suffer and shouldplay an active role in overcoming the problem of poverty due to the accountability inlast judgement. Churches in the world, including Seventh-day Adventist Church,take responsible to reduce poverty problem.
