Abstract

Rapid technological developments influence various aspects of life. And that makes the use of Internet technology as a part of carrying out daily activities. But the need for adequate Internet networks is hampered by limited bandwidth capacity in the network. Measurements made on limited capacity testing networks aim to determine the characteristics of the testing network and the rate of traffic in the network. In the testing network, the average bandwidth capacity was 3.61 Mbps, and the average rate of traffic was 1,428 Mbps. The rate of traffic that occurs in the testing network is worth 1/3 of the highest bandwidth capacity on the testing network which is 4,76 Mbps. With the characteristics of continuous packet delivery of 70%, and bulk packet delivery by 30%. Through the results of the characteristics of the package delivery, the background traffic model that is constructed describing the transmission of bulk packets will be transmitted after 7 continuous packets sent. Background traffic modeling can be a reference in conducting content delivery simulations in network simulations application that resemble the characteristics of testing network

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to design a computer-based system that can be used to assist in the decision making process. The need for a decision support system in terms of determining students for the special dormitory intended for students who are financially incapable who are studying at the Adventist University of Indonesia (UNAI). Usually the decision-making process often involves many criteria, then a method that can support decision making involving multi criteria or Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) is used. Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) is a method that commonly used in supporting multi-criteria decision making. The model in SAW is used to determine the rank of alternatives that are displayed in the form of web-based computer applications so as to facilitate users of both students and UNAI management. The results of this study is a web-based computer-based decision support system that can help to determine decision-making on the selection of Special Dormitory registration at UNAI. Furthermore, this research can be developed using other methods for more effective decision making and can also be displayed on other platforms such as mobile applications. Abstract

Currently the payment systems in the Industrial of Universitas Advent Indonesia uses cash and the financial records are done manually. There are some problems occur because of the sales financial records are still manually recorded on the book and after that the book will be given to the Academic Finance Bureau (BAK) as the prove of report. This study aims to provide an overview of the new payment system, it is electronic payments by using the QR Code as a solution to overcome the manual financial recording problems and to find out the readiness of the users, they are the students, lecturers and staffs regarding the new payment system. The method used in data collection were interview, survey and observation, questionnaire and literature studies. The modeling used in this study to design a new system that was UML (Unified Modeling Language) and a questionnaire to determine the readiness of users. The conclusions of this study were 1) With this system, it can prevent errors at the income calculation because the calculations are no longer done manually, 2) With this system, forgetting to record sales results can be solved because the recording is done directly or realtime in the system, 3) With this system, no need to buy books to record the sales because everything is recorded in the system, 4) Financial supervision will be easily to be controlled, 5) Searching and inspection of data is easy and quick, 6) The Industrial of Universitas Advent Indonesia no need to provide sales report to BAK because the sales report can be directly accessed by BAK in the system, 7) Based on the results of the questionnaire that has been collected and processed, the overall average answer of the respondents from the 10 questions provided are agreed. Abstract

The connectivity of the internet network is something that cannot be separated from the daily activities at present. The speed of data transfer and the quality of service becomes a benchmark for its assessment. Universitas Advent Indonesia is an educational institution that provides internet access to all campus residents as a means for students to search for data and information. The bandwidth allocated for students is 60 Mbps, while 40 Mbps is allocated for office buildings and lecturer housing which are also within the campus area. This study uses bandwidth, throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss parameters using Iperf, Ping, and Command Prompt software to find out the Quality of Service from an internet connection on campus. The research aims to 1) determine the performance of internet network services and 2) provide results of measurements of the analysis of Quality of Service at Universitas Advent Indonesia. The research methodology used for this study is to use literature studies and direct research in several strategic locations. The conclusions of this study are: 1) the performance of the internet network in the NACB area, male dormitory and female dormitory is very good with an index value of 4 based on the calculation of QoS parameters, namely bandwidth, delay, jitter, throughput and packet loss. 2) the quality of internet client network services has met the standardization value according to the TIPHON version. The average value of client bandwidth capacity obtained from NACB is data transfer speed of 6.48 Mbps. The average value of the client bandwidth capacity of the male dormitory is 13.2 Mbps. While the average value of client bandwidth capacity in female dormitories is 10.1 Mbps. Keywords: quality of service, internet, bandwidth, throughput, delay, jitter, packet loss

Abstract

Every universities wants its students to graduate on time. The reason is that the accreditation of the universities may increase. But in reality, there are students who cannot complete their education on time. Therefore, the author wants to examine how to make a system that can predict whether a student can graduate on time using the J48 decision tree method, so that actions can be taken to help the student finishes their studies on time if they tend not to graduate on time. Through the interviews and literature studies, 19 attributes were found that could affect the timeliness of the students graduation at Universitas Advent Indonesia. To process the data, the author uses the WEKA application by implementing the J48 algorithm. Results of the study has obtained an accuracy of 90,24%, it can be concluded that this algorithm has a fairly good level of accuracy to make predictions of students graduating on time. The results of the study have concluded that academic leave is main reason for the students not to graduate on time. While passing the classes, environmental influences, financial difficulties, discipline problems, perseverance in doing assignments, working as student labor in the university, the linearity of studies in accordance with high school specialization, numbers of students’ organizations they followed, and the friendship influences are supporting attributes that can be used to predict. Abstract

UNAI church has many members and large amount of financial activities. Before this research is done the financial transactions were recorded with different applications between income and expense. Thus requiring a long process to crate the final financial statement. In this research, a financial application that combines the income and expense recording in an easy-to-use application is designed and implemented. This application is designed with prototyping method, where an application prototype can be implemented and revised as user’s demands . This financial application provides membership recording, departement management, budget year management, budgeting, income recording, expense recording, cash advance management and provides several reporting such as: membership report, departement report, daily income report, monthly income report, expense report, budget report and income and expense combined report. Abstract

Parents and teachers are the main figures in the education of school-age children. In school, teachers play a role in educating students, but outside of school parents are responsible to nurture their children. Therefore communication between parents and teachers is very important. In fact, there are many barriers in communication between teachers and parents. Busyness and time limitedness are the biggest problem. There is a need for a system that can facilitate communication activity betweenteachers and parents. This research builds an application that facilitates communication between teachers and parents using hybrid mobile technology. Mobile hybrid technology was chosen because it can be a solution for application development that can be used on various platforms available on smartphones such as Android, iOS and Windows. The method used in the development of this system is SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) with the waterfall model with the stages of analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of the system. The results of this design are in the form of an application that can be used on various smartphone platforms, which can facilitate communication activity between teachers and parents. Abstract

Turning on a vehicle from a distance is an obstacle for the owners. This happens if he travels far and no one can turn on the vehicle. For this reason, the authors conduct a study to utilize IoT technology (internet of things) that can turn off and turn on a vehicle remotely. By using ESP8266 NodeMCU which is connected with 2 relays and 2 sensor that is a SW420 vibration sensor and a tilt sensor the SW460D can produce a hardware configuration to control the vehicles from a distance. As an interface controller, one application has been programmed using the Android-based Blynk application. This design has been tested on a motorcycle for a month, from March 1 to April 1. the result shows that it works, and it is always succeeded to control the motorcycle from a far if the system gets a wifi signal with an internet connection. Abstract

Short semester is a period of lectures carried out by an educational institution / university with the aim of facilitating students who wish to shorten their lecture time, as well as those who wish to improve their grades that are inadequate. In this semester, the preparations made refer to the student's request for certain courses that he wants to attend. In order to make a good preparation, the faculty leaders need to predict what courses are likely to be taken by students, so that they can prepare the registration and assign the lecturers whose related to the course. The purpose of this study is to collect data of students request for certain courses useing previous data. For data mining technique, the author used the Association Rule and apriori algorithm to find the frequent itemset to make prediction. By analyzing 25 participant data of students at the Faculty of Information Technology, on short semester of the academic year 20162017, the resuts shows that there was a high level of support and confidence in several combinations of subjects. In addition, it is also found that the rule with the highest final association value is in the rule of "Choose B then choose K", namely: If the student chooses course B (Algorithm), then he will also choose course K (Algorithm Practice) with the value of support 20% and 100% confidence. Abstract

Generally attendance system and teacher activity report in school is done by manual that is teacher fillthe attendance by writing in paper of their attendance data after that teacher also doing attendancefor student by calling student name one by one done by teacher teaching. Therefore, it needs a changewith the computerization process to fix any deficiencies and fraud in the process of absenteeism andvalue on the students. Sekolah Pancaran Kasih is very eager to have a useful school website to provideinformation - information, teacher and student attendance along with better student scores. Systemdevelopment method used in this research is SDLC consisting of (1) Information, (2) design, (3)implementation, (4) maintenance. From this research which have been done, the writer conclude that(1) This system can be used by teacher and admin (2) teacher easily input student attendance dataand give value to its student (3) All attendance data and student value and teacher attendance dataand the activity report will be saved to the system that has been created. With the design of attendanceinformation system and students' values along with absences and reports of teacher activities it can beconcluded, the system can provide convenience to users and administrators involved in processing andstoring data so as to provide information in accordance with the needs of the user.
