Abstract

Semarang Bay is the waters that become the place of 5 watershed that will bring suspended solid material into the waters. TSS that enter the water will affect the life of aquatic organisms this is because it can affect the penetration of light and breathing of aquatic animals. This study aims to determine the concentration of TSS in Semarang Bay, to know the status of water pollution based on TSS variable and to know the cause of the increase of TSS. Landsat satellite imagery 8 can be used to estimate TSS concentration using TSS = 0,6432 * (ETM1 + ETM3) / 2-5,9063 algorithm. Based on the result of spatial analysis it is known that there is an increase of TSS concentration from 0,2-158,1 mg / L in 2013 to 0-250 mg / L in 2017. While the concentration is also followed by increasing its extent from 2003 to 2007. Based on result The concentration of TSS is known that the waters of Semarang Bay are categorized as medium contaminated. Keywords: Total Suspended Solid, Semarang Bay, Landsat 8 dan 7 ETM.

Abstract

The Fisheries Management Area (WPP) RI KP 713 under Decree No. 1 year 2009 includes Makassar Strait, Bone Bay, Flores Sea and the Sea of Bali. WPP-RI 713 is an area traversed by Arlindo. Arlindo occurs due to differences in surface pressure between the Pacific and Indian Oceans that value varies and it is influenced by the ENSO (Gordon et al, 2008). ENSO criteria can affect eddies variations. Eddies can affect the value SPL and salinity will affect the distribution of skipjack fish. This study aimed to analyze the relationship of ENSO variability with eddy patterns and biomass skipjack in 2014 - 2016. The research method was conducted descriptively by visualizing the variability of ENSO and skipjack biomass in the graph. Meanwhile, visualization current distribution patterns, SPL, and salinity using the ODV software. The relationship between all the variables are calculated by linear regression quantitatively. The visualization results indicate ENSO criteria affects eddy patterns, temperature, and salinity. By the time El Nino years of 2014 - 2015 occured 10-12 eddies, SPL average colder 290C, and higher salinity 33.3 psu. In 2016 a normal year with decreased eddies 9 incident, SST average 30.2oC, and salinity 33.3 psu. Distribution of Skipjack showed significant patterns between phases Nino years of 2014 - 2015 with the average 2.75 – 3.25 g/m2 and a normal year with the average 9:15 g / m2. Linear correlation between ENSO and the current showed positive results in 2014 and 2016, whereas in 2015 was negative. The correlation between ENSO and skipjack biomass showed positive results in 2015 and 2016, whereas in 2014 was negative. Keywords : ENSO, Eddy, Skipjack Biomass, Temperature, Salinity

Abstract

Bacterial deseases are seriousness problem in aquaculture. The uncontrolled of quality degradation of pond sites because of wastes and organic matters decompotition and also global climate changes has been predicted affect triggered the bacterial infections. Vibrio harveyi is one of patogenic bacteria which againts Tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon). The recovery strategies has been applied both in the rehabilitation of pond sanitary and also it has been focussed in curative methods to overcome infection activities. The usage of synthetic antibiotics has been reported gift any negative effects, either for environment and rised pathogenic resintance because of uncontrolled exposure.Environmental friendly and based on biological methods has been promoted to overcome this problem. The usage of antibacterial agents derived from natural compounds  has been recommended as an effective method. Several marine resources has been predicted as candidates of antibacterial agents againts Vibrio harveyi. Several seaweeds (macroalga) and seagrass has been explored in this research at in-vitro level of study to inhibit the activity of Vibrio harveyi. The result showed that all of the crude extracts derived from seagrass (Thallasia sp) and several kinds of seaweeds  (Padina sp, Gracilaria sp and Sargassum sp) could inhibit the growth of Vibrio harveyi from the lowest concentration level (10 µg/mL). The highest inhibition activity has been showed from the antibacterial sensitivity test of crude extract of Thallasia sp at the concentration level of 10.000 µg/mL.                                                                                                                                  Keywords : macroalgae, seagrass, secondary metabolite, antibacteria, Vibrio harveyi

Abstract
