Abstract

This study will discuss change in tensile behavior as a function of vol.% of a’ in copper free and copper bearing dual phase steel. Microstructures of the steels after solution treatment and annealing at intercritical region are lath martensite and (a+a’) dual structures, respectively. The temperatures for annealing were determined using JMatPro 4.1. Specimens were austenised at 1000?C for 30 sec and followed by water quenching. Then, each type of specimens were heat treated at specific temperatures in order to obtain 20% and 80% of martensite. Beside that, for get hardness values each samples, the samples strain at 2%, 4% and 8% tensile test for base steel and Cu steel. Changes of hardness of annealed samples almost the same in both steels. On the other hand, it is found that addition of copper can improve tensile strength, total elongation and strength-ductility balance of the DP steel although no significant effect on yield stress and uniform elongation. Therefore, it can be concluded that the copper bearing DP steel has more excellent tensile properties than the copper free DP steel.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan data awal untuk perbandingan pengembangan proses pembuatan bata merah dengan mengkompositkan bahan dasar pembuatan bata merah dengan silika RHA (Rice Husk Ash) yang didapat dari limbah pembakaran bata merah itu sendiri. Proses pengujian dengan mengamil salah satu home industry bata merah yang ada di kelurahan Koto Panjang kecamatan Lamposi Tigo Nagori kota Payakumbuh Sumatera Barat,dengan tujuan mendapatkan data awal sejauh mana kualitas bata merah home industri tersebut ditinjau dari sifat mekanik yaitu kuat tekan (compression strength) Dari hasil pengujian kuat tekan (compression strength) dengan ukuran sampel uji 5 x 5 x 5 cm sebanyak 30 buah sampel, didapat nilai rata-rata kuat tekan sebesar 31,9 kg/cm .Menurut Standar SII-0021-1978 bata merah produksi daerah tersebut di atas telah memenuhi syarat kualitas ditinjau dari nilai kuat tekan dengan nilai minimal 25 kg/cm

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the influence of time pressure on the strength of the weld connection point (spot welding) low carbon steel. The study was conducted by analyzing the tensile strength of the weld point by press time variation 20, 25, and 30 seconds on a current strength 70 Amperes. The results show that the press time will determine the outcome of a process of welding and weld strength. The longer ofpress time will result in nugget diameter (weld metal) getting bigger, and this resulted in attraction strength also increased.

Abstract

In the heat treatment with rapid dye method (Quenching) has the disadvantage that the increase of water temperature around the metal is high enough, it is not suitablefor long material, this issue need another attempt to study the cooling method with spraying system which is done to the spring steel. Heating is done until temperature of 920 ° C, with holding time 60 min, pressure 20, 40, 60 psi and 120 seconds of spraying time. After heat treatment, the specimens' hardness is tested by the method of Rockwell C (HRC). The results of hardness testing showed that the average hardness at a pressure of 20, 40, 60 psi is 34.55 HRC, HRC 39.80, and 40.45 HRC. At a pressure of 60 psi martensiticphase is observed clearly. There is a tendency that the higher the pressure, the hardness increased.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi fly ash dan suhu sintering terhadap densitas dan kekerasan Vickers keramik lantai dari fly ash yang telah di-vitrifikasi. Fly ash yang digunakan berasal dari sisa pembakaran batubara pada pembangkit listrik tenaga uap dari Sijantang Sawahlunto. Pertambahan jumlah produksi fly ash menyebabkan dampak negatif pada lingkungan, sehingga salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi dampak tersebut adalah dengan cara memanfaatkan fly ash yang telah di-vitrifikasi sebagai raw material untuk membentuk keramik lantai. Komposisi material yang dipergunakan yaitu: 50 % berat fly ash vitrifikasi (Fav) + 40 % berat clay + 10 % berat batu kapur. Spesimen uji dibuat berbentuk silindris dengan diameter 15 mm dengan tekanan sebesar 120 MPa. Spesimen uji kemudian di-sinter pada suhu 1050, 1100, 1150 oC dengan laju pemanasan 10 oC/menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi optimal densitas dan kekerasan vickers terjadi pada spesimen (50% berat fly ash vitrifikasi + 40 % berat clay + 10% berat batu o kapur) pada tekanan 120 MPa dan suhu sinter 1150 C, yaitu densitas sebesar 3,52 gr/cm3 , kekerasan vickers sebesar 6,98 Kg/mm2 .

Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of air drying temperature on the quality of Centella Asiatica L. The drying was conducted by using a constant temperature and humidity drying chamber at different drying temperatures and relative humidities (35 C, 45 C, 55 C, 65 C; 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%), respectively. Color of Centella Asiatica L was measured using a Chroma meter and the madecascosside and asiaticosside in Centella Asiatica L were identified and quantified using High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The results showed that the color quality of Centella Asiatica L for the drying o temperature below 55 C was decreased but not significantly. The decreasing color quality was significant at o temperature beyond 55 C and at higher relative humidity. This is caused by longer drying time to achieve equilibrium moisture content. The active ingredient (madecascosside and asiaticosside) in Centella Asiatica o L was decreased at temperature beyond 55 C. Based on the results the quality of Centella Asiatica L can be o preserved if the drying process was maintained at temperature less than 55 C. Also the results obtained from this study can be used to design a solar drying system for Centella Asiatica L and other medicinal herbs.
