Journal of Educational, Health and Community Psychology
Journal of Educational, Health, and Community Psychology (JEHCP) published an article, and empirical study that have originality, novelty and fill the gap of knowledge, that focused on educational psychology, health psychology and community psychology. JEHCP is an open access peer reviewed, multidisciplinary journal that publishes quality studies related to psychology. JEHCP is interdisciplinary in approach, and includes to reports of qualitative case studies, quantitative experiments and surveys, mixed method studies, action researches, meta-analyses, and discussions of conceptual and methodological issues. The field of educational psychology includes the effectiveness of educational interventions, the psychology of teaching, and the social psychology of schools as organizations, motor skills and other psycho-physiological processes; cognitive development involving areas such as problem solving, language acquisition; social, personality, and emotional development; self-concept and identity formation. The field of Health Psychology includes the stress-related ilnesses, the health coping strategy, resiliency, work on health attitudes and behaviour, health locus of control, quality of life in chronic disease, influence of emotion on health and health-related behaviours, psychological interventions in health and disease as well as psychological aspects of prevention. The field of Community Psychology includes research, evaluation, assessment and intervention, and review articles that deal with human behavior in community settings. Articles of interest include descriptions and evaluations of service programs and projects, studies of youth, parenting, and family development, methodology and design for work in the community, the interaction of groups in the larger community, and criminals and corrections.

 AbstractResilience research has been found more in clinical setting, social field and educational background. However, the resilience researches related to industrial and organizational are rarely. In the organization, resilience owned by the employee will impact the level of job satisfaction. Resilient employees will develop a particular pattern of problem solving that makes him able to provide optimal contribution to the company. It can be stated that the employee job satisfaction level is suspected influenced by the resilience level.This study aimed to examine the correlation between the level of of tax consultantâs resilience on their perceived level of employeeâs job satisfaction. The study was conducted on 52 employees who work in a tax consulting firm. The hypothesis of this study is the higher the level of employeesâ resilience, the higher the employeesâ job satisfaction level. The Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire MSQ was used to measure the level of job satisfaction, and also Wagnild and Young (1993) resilience scale was used to measure the level of employeesâ resilience. The result show that resilience has positive relationship with job satisfaction level. Conclusions and suggestions of this study are discussed. AbstractThe aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between parental abuse and mind reading ability in female students. 268 female high school students were selected among high schools of Bonab city as the sample of the study by multistage cluster sampling method. The tools of the study were Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (RMET) and two-dimensional child abuse questionnaire (Javanmard & Mamagani). In order to analyze the collected data, Pearsonâs correlation coefficient and standard multiple regression analysis were used. According to the results of the study, there was significant negative relationship between the mind reading ability of children with emotional abuse (r=-0/215, P<0/001) and physical abuse by parents (r=-0/22, P<0/001). The mentioned ability changes were predicted by emotional and physical abuse by parents.Keywords: Mind Reading Ability, Child Abuse, Parents, Children

Abstract The purpose of this study was to compare the differences of using meta-cognitive strategies in high school students who study in the fields of mathematics and humanities. For do this, 140 high school students were selected randomly. The Swansonâs Meta-cognition Strategies Test was administrated for sample groups. The acquired means for two regroups were compared with t-test for two independent groupsâ method. Results indicated that two groups were meaningfully differed from each other (sig=0.01) in using meta-cognitive strategies, and mean of students in mathematics field were high. Also there was a meaningful difference in task component between two groups (sig=0.002), and the mean of students in mathematics field was higher than from students in humanities field in this component. The high school students in mathematics field use more metacognitive strategies, especially task component, than the students in humanities field. Abstract Experts agree that resilience involves internal factors and external factors. In addition to those two factors, religious beliefs, spirituality and the capacity to give a meaning to the traumatic event, it is also discussed as a factor involved in the development of resilience. A number of researchers explore their findings to see the relationships between religiousness/ spirituality and resilience. People experiencing emptiness of spiritual, increasingly awareness of the importance of the involvement of religion/spiritual in solving problems, but itâs increasingly depletion due to exposure to materialistic life.This research is conducted to see the influence of religiousness/spirituality on resilience occuring among college students. The results showed that the following dimensions are related to the increasing resilience of a person: daily experience of human spiritual, beliefs/values, willingness to forgive, and the worship of religious activities as well as evaluating a persons level of religiousness. AbstractStudentsâ low level of motivation becomes a matter of concern to be addressed immediately. Students motivation needs to be improved as it is a factor that will affect their lives in the future. This study aims to observe or examine the effectiveness of motivation training in increasing students motivation. The research method used was the pre-experiment with one group pre-test post-test design. The subjects of this study were 15 boy and girl students of Grade X of SMK who had a low level of motivation. The measuring instruments were the motivation scales given during the pre-test and post-test. The quantitative data were statistically analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with non-parametric measurements to determine the significance of difference in the motivation level before and after the training. The data were tested using SPSS 17.0 for Windows. The result of Wilcoxon analysis to test the hypothesis whether there is a difference between the pre-test and post-test of students motivation showed that the p = 0.025 (p < 0.05). This means that there was a significant difference between the motivation before the treatment (pre-test) and after the treatment (post- test), which indicated that the students motivation increased after a treatment in the form of motivation training.Keywords: motivation training, motivation

 AbstractMany children closely interact with teachers for nine months out of the year and schools are one of the safest places for students to be educated and teachers have a vital role for this education. Teachers should prevent from different kinds of child abuses and have an important role for preventing from child abuse. The primary purpose of this literature review study is to investigate of the phenomenon of child abuse within the school environment by teachers. The second aim of this paper is to determine the legal ways in different countries to encounter with physical child abuse by teachers. Child abuse by teachers has an in depth influence on childrenâs behaviors and their academic achievements. Abused children have been found to suffer from extreme deficits in school, exhibit poor academic performance, antisocial behaviour, poor self-respect, higher criminal behaviour rates, scepticism of adults, and central nervous system functioning. The findings of this paper showed that there are many reported cases of child abuse by teachers in rural areas, nevertheless, many countries banned or restricted physical abuse or corporal punishment and made legal decisions.Key word Legal ways, teachers, child abuse, rural, corporal punishment

AbstractThe presence of job satisfaction as a vital factor amongst academic staff in university is too considerable. Furthermore, recognizing principal factors that influence on job satisfaction assumed much significant, because of these factors appear various normal and abnormal behavior at workplace. In this case, the present study focused on income as external factor that impacts on job satisfaction and examines the association between these two factors among academic staffs at public universities in Malaysia. The sample of the study was 440 academic staff that worked in public universities and completed the job descriptive index inventory. Additionally, the result showed there is significant relationship between income and the amount of job satisfaction that analyzed by ANOVA test. As well, the existing paper supports the effect of income on job satisfaction among academic staff.Key word: Income, job satisfaction, and university academic staff

AbstractThe purpose of this literature review paper is to determine the role of housing availability in improving well-being in childrenâs life and prevention of child abuse by considering the role of international organizations. This review shows that having a suitable home has an important role in succeeding the academic achievement among students, and also, homeless children more than others suffer from lack of health, physical problems and child abuse. Furthermore, this study finds that homeless school students more than their peers have a problem about academic achievement. AbstractThis paper discusses strategies for research with women who have been victimised in their intimate relationships with their partners. I will discuss the specific issues that concern the vulnerability of women victimised by intimate partner violence: experiences of intimate violence, stereotyping, minimisation, sexual violence, protection of children, the meaning of safety. Examples from the accounts of women who whose partners had been prosecuted for violence against them, and those who had sought legal interventions like protection orders, will illustrate how each of these issues needs to be taken into account when conducting research with abused women. Strategies that we have used to deal with these issues in studies conducted in the Domestic Violence Interventions and Services Research Programme will be discussed, with illustrations of the complexities of putting them into practice.Keyword: domestic violence, intimate relationships, victimization, and New Zealand women
