Abstract

Objectives to be achieved in service activities is to foster the spirit of starting a new life for the 5 farmers who suffered catastrophic cold lava flood particular group Livestock quail Tani Mulyo Hamlet Quick Village Gondosuli Muntilan district and 5 breeders are joined in Group Livestock quail Rejeki Hamlet Macanan Banyudono Shaman District. Specific targets are the seeds quail ready to lay that out of 1,000 head of targeted quail egg can produce 75%, assuming a quail egg-laying 1 egg / day, sold at a retail price of Rp. 210, - / point. Results of these activities are still limited availability of seedling 3,690 tails with an average weight increase in the age of 2 weeks 28 grams and 3,450 head at the age of 8 weeks to 167 grams. Egg production reached 86% before the arranged marriage which only reached 66% egg production quail. To foster the spirit of entrepreneurship that is able to think of creative and innovative and able to read the opportunities as well as clever use it in accordance with the capabilities and not focused on just one type of work just the wives of farmers tried to create diversified products made from meat and quail eggs.

Abstract

Domestic wastewater of Lebari Sub-village and Krajan Sub-village was disposed so unproperly that it overflowed onto surroundings. When the met garbage and livestock manure, it would attract flies and mice; and also contaminate the surrounding water. Pawenang (2010) riset showed that the spring water which flowed into Jaro River and Sronto River did not meet the bacteriological qualification because it had 1.100/100ml and >2.400/100ml total coliform number, whereas the limit was 10/100ml. Public Health Centre data showed that diarea always on the top three. Both non-physical and physical efforts were needed. The physical effort was done by building a comunal wastewater treatment. The non-physical efford was done with education about wastewater management and wastewater treatment maintenace. The public education increased knowladge rate of 83.3% mothers participants and 90% fathers participants. It had been already built 2 units of domestic wastewater treatment which covered 60 houses. It had been formed a wastewater superintendent forum which was well observed be properly able to manage and to maintain the wastewater treatment units.

Abstract

Kendal regency government committed to develop tourism, through batik as one of their local potentials. Situation analysis in two micro-scale industry partners identify that both locate in tourism destination area, however their competitiveness to support tourisms need to be enhanced. Their motif collections with typical Kendal were limited, as well as product diversification,and environment support. One of the industry use natural dyes with high dependence to other province cultivation and high cost, while the other need applied technology of souvenir batik crafts,batik packaging, and patterned batik fashion. Solution offered was tourism awareness and environment collaboration agenda to strengthen industries through training, workshops, and technical assistance in: (1) development of typical regional motif; (2) producing souvenirs and packaging; (3) batik patterned dress; (4) batik with natural dyes based on research; (5) excellent service and simple communication in English. Product exhibition was conducted at the end of project. The results of the implementation of the activities showed an increase in knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the drilled material, creative product quality, while all participants affirmed their satisfaction.

Abstract

IbM activities carried out in Sampangan Pasar Baru, Jalan Raya village Bendan Menoreh Duwur, District Gajahmungkur Semarang. The purpose of these service activities, namely: 1) train KSM Pasar Baru Sampangan process organic waste into organic fertilizer ready for sale. 2) help the government tackle the waste problem by creating a model of market-based processing of organic waste. 3) educate the traders of vegetables in order to dispose of waste in place and sort out organic and non-organic. There are two groups who are partners, namely: the first group of traders, especially traders vegetables every day produces organic and non-organic waste amounts to approximately 75 merchants. The second group of organic waste processing. IbM devotion steps that have been made are as follows: socialization and coordination of relevant parties, the manufacture of home composting, procurement of equipment and materials, training composting, educating the traders to dispose of waste in place, processing of organic waste regularly. Results obtained: 1) KSM Market Sampangan New’ve processing organic waste market becomes compost and is already on sale, 2) Produced SDM many as three people from KSM Market Sampangan New that can process organic waste market into compost, 3) Traders vegetables approximately 75% were taking out the trash in place, although not entirely sorted garbage sorting.

Abstract

Partners IbM devotion is home industry pastries “Sri Jaya” and “Flavor of Love” which produces pastries, pia and bread. The problems that arise are: (1) aspects of production where tool to smooth the stuffing in the form of green beans kumbu using a mortar pestle. In addition to cooking kumbu, the tool used is steamed and pan large, (2) the quality aspects of pastries and pia generated needs to be improved to expand marketing, (3) aspects hiegene and sanitation, (4) aspects of business management and marketing. Pursuant to the problems faced by partner activities of science and technology for society (IbM) above, then the solutions offered are: (1) Applied two units grinder to smooth kumbu green beans, (2) be applicable two units of pressure cooker to cook green beans in order to quickly padded, (3) Produced recipe pastries and pia with good quality that can be accepted by consumers at large, (4) Given the results of organoleptic test: in terms of taste, color, aroma and texture as well as known results of testing consumer preferences, (5) Resulting design and the packaging quality pastries and pia more interesting, (6) Given the nutritional content such as: carbohydrates, fat, protein, moisture and ash content, (7) business management (accounting and administration) recorded a complete and tidy, (8) Marketing using brochures and online, (9) Advantage partner increases, (10) Resulting scientific articles in national journals.

Abstract

Targets to be achieved through IbM is on aspects of production and management. Aspects of the production which increased the production technology of making souvenirs, increasing capacity in the field of design through the program Corel Draw and Adobe Photoshop as well as consolidation of production procedures with due regard to health and safety work management. Management aspects namely on financial management, financial management hold good with regular bookkeeping, through marketing management produces forms of promotion through various media. Market network expansion and facilitate consumer access to order products.Through HR management can improve the training of human resources, the provision of entrepreneurial motivation and self empowerment. IbM implemented through phases 1 ) Preparation ; 2 ) Stage Assessment ; 3 ) The Plan or Program Activity; 4 ) Phase Action Plan ; 5 ) Implementation Phase or activity ; and 6 ) Evaluation Phase . It is expected to be implemented through the stages can help solve problems and realize the needs of partners.

Abstract

The objectives of science and technology for the community (IbM) is to resolve the problems faced by small industries making salted eggs in Tambakrejo, Semarang. The main problem is in the produce of salted egg takes a long time (14 days) and marketing are still limited. Implementation team is lecture and students with expertise appropriate to the needs of the field. In making appropriate technology equipment in the workshop of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Faculty, Semarang State University. The results of these activities, among others, a set of tools salted egg maker with pressure (UPSE-Under Pressure Salted Egg) in which this tool can generate salted eggs within one-two days. In the aspect of management has produced an output in the form of salted egg packaging design in two partners and certificates P-IRT from the City Health Office Semarang.

Abstract

Science and technology activities for the people (IbM) was conducted with the aim of resolving the problems faced by tofu small industries in Bandungan, Semarang regency, Central Java. There are two IbM partners, namely Mrs. Biyati and Mrs. Widari. There are two aspects of the problems to be addressed, namely the aspects of production and management. As a team implementing these activities are lectures and students with expertise in accordance with the needs of the field. In the implementation of some of the methods that are used to support, among others, with lectures for the theoretical material and motivation, demonstration to deliver material practice / skills, practice directly by the partners, and mentoring activities. In this activity has generated output production and management aspects. Outputs aspects of production: 1) soy grinding machine with a gasoline motor power source so that the sound is smooth and does not interfere with citizens, 2) equipment using steam boiler (steam boiler) so that the kitchen space free of smoke, knows not of bitter and feel better, 3 ) Stamping tools screw system making it easy to operate / lighter. Outputs management aspects: 1) bookkeeping financial / business better, and 2) further increased marketing / marketing a wider range.

Abstract

Product or service Wira New Business (WUB) generated the students have the advantage of science and technology. Independent entrepreneurs from universities that produce the products / services can be developed through the science and technology-based business consulting to experts, research and laboratories on campus. Readiness is integrated and holistic childbirth entrepreneurs from universities, superior, has a broader and more adaptative insight. Entrepreneurship lecture testruktur, entrepreneurial practices chance divasilitasi Entrepreneurship Student Creativity Program (PKM-K) through a grant to try to try. Student Entrepreneurial Program (PMW) which provide more opportunities, where students who tried because of limited funds got very soft loan (without interest). Useful for students to practice managing capital / funding from outside to study the production, trade, repay, and so on.
