Abstract

Conditions The people of the Pakintelan area in village locations have a livelihood of selling cat rice, meatballs, and selling fried food. The repeated use of used cooking oil for frying is damaging human health to cause cancer. The availability of banana peel waste can be found at fried food sellers. This activity aims to increase the cooking oil user community's understanding and purify cooking oil by adsorption of activated carbon, and it can be reused. Increase public knowledge that banana peels can activate charcoal as a cooking oil purifier in the adsorber column. The method used is the socialization and education of conservation on the manufacture of activated carbon and the adsorption of cooking oil with a specific acid number. The results are by SNI and can be reused. Checking the results of purification and evaluation is carried out. Understanding the population using new cooking oil at week 4 reaches 83% of the samples tested. Cooking oil that is used at least five times is adsorbed with an acid number of 0.6. Products can benefit people's health, reduce cooking oil spending and increase knowledge and skills in purifying used cooking oil.

Abstract

Cassava Wingko (Wingsing) is a traditional Indonesian food. Wingko is a kind of cake made from cassava, coconut and other ingredients. Wingsing has an important role for economic growth in the Kandrivillage. More foreign tourists are coming to the village Kandri which is a gateway to travel in wadung Jatibarang as wadug Jatibarang in villages Kandri were officially opened. The purpose of this activity was to: improve the quality and capacity of the Wingsing products through improving the production and the management aspects of the industry partners. The outcomes of this activity were; (1) increased understanding of the partner about management concepts and hygienicproduction techniques of Wingsing. (2) marketable Wingsing packaging techniques, (3) writing in national journals, or an accredited journal, or an international journal about Wingsing productionin the village Kandri. The methods used in the IbM consisted of (1) observation to identify the the problems faced bythe Wingsing producers, (2) a discussion meeting with the Wingsing producers to agree on the techniques to overcome the problems, (3) counseling of hygienictechniques of Wingsing production, (6) integrated training and assistance to improve the quality and quantity of products, marketableWingsingpackaging techniques, improved marketing system of Wingsing. The results of this activity indicated an improvement quality and quantity of Wingsing production, which included the results of a more marketable packaging design, understanding about more hygienicWingsing production process. The indirect impact of this activity was on the increase of production and revenue of Wingsing small business venture. Furthermore, the results of activities has been written in an article and have been sent to International Journal of Research in Higher Education published by Sciedu Press in Canada.

Abstract

Susu sapi yang dihasilkan para peternak sapi di RT 03 RW 02 Kelurahan Nongkosawit Kecamatan Gunungpati hanya dijual ke pasar dalam keadaan susu segar dan selebihnya untuk kebutuhan sendiri sehari-hari tanpa ada upaya untuk membuat produk lain yang lebih bervariasi. Tujuan spesifik kegiatan ini adalah agar masyarakat melalui kelompok ibu-ibu PKK RT 03 RW 02 dapat memanfaatkan potensi yang ada didaerahnya, kecuali itu juga meningkatkan gizi pada balitanya mengingat susu merupakan makanan yang bergizi cukup tinggi dan harganya relatif murah. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan adalah metode ceramah mengenai seluk beluk susu, metode praktek tentang cara pengolahan susu sapi segar menjadi youghurt aneka rasa dan yang berhubungan dengan pasca pengolahan, metode tanya jawab untuk mengetahui sampai sejauh mana peserta mampu menerima atau terlibat dalam kegiatan ini dan evaluasi untuk memperoleh gambaran dalam rangka penafsiran dan analisis untuk memperoleh simpulan dari semua kegiatan yang sudah dilaksanakan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan masyarakat sangat antusias untuk mengolah susu sapi segar menjadi youghurt dengan berbagai macam rasa. Perlu dilakukan inovasi dan kreativitas dalam proses pengolahan susu sapi segar agar produk yang dihasilkan bisa lebih baik danbermutu.

Abstract

Rengginang is one of Indonesian traditional food made from glutinous rice ingredient white or black, generally in the form of a circle of a certain size, taste sweet or savory, and have a crisp texture. Based on surveys and interviews directly to employer partners, pernasalahan which can be grouped into three aspects: 1). The production aspect, for this small entrepreneurs are still using technology rengginang glutinous drying naturally., 2). The quality aspect, drying techniques used in rengginang causing substances do not meet the standard of food in accordance with SNI. In addition, the packaging has not been done properly and the result produced rengginang perishable or quickly fizzled, 3). Aspects of Business Management and Marketing. During this segment of the market rengginang production glutinous mother and mother Kartini Murti Mardiyah about 90% for the traditional market Pecangaan districts, the district of Jepara.

Abstract

Quality and production capacity of instant health beverages HEALTHY home industry needs to be im- proved by using instant beverage processing machines. Destination activities to the community ser- vice are: 1) to improve the quality and production capacity of the processing machine instant health drink. ; 2) determine the added value from the use of instant health beverage processing machines;3) designing product packaging instant health drink exciting HEALTHY home industry. Benefits of community service activities are: increasing the value-added plant rhizomes; generating appropri- ate technologies such as instant health machine processing machine; improve the performance of HEALTHY home industry to become more optimal; assist local governments in an effort to improve the quality of life through community service activities. The method of implementation of activities, among others: 1) extension of instant health beverage processing; 2) manufacture of packaging design by using graphic design; 3) making machines using the method of design; 4) training in production, use of tools and treatment methods and practices FAQ; 5) evaluation of the use of the machine using a test method and observation; 6) assistance and consultation methods of discussion. The results of these activities are there to improve the quality and production capacity by using a processing engine instant drinks, deficits improve the added value of the application of machinery to come from reduced labor costs of employees, and a reduction in fuel costs reached lebh of 50% where the process previ- ously done twice into one time. Health beverage product packaging design has been made with credit instant composition, manner of presentation, production, brand, net weight, and the P-IRT permits

Abstract

The problem which want to overcome in this activity was: how to design marketing and packaging techniques in order to improve patcwaork crafts business productivity. This activity aims to provide the skills in pakacging and marketing techniques for crafters and craft of patchwork business owners. The methods were applied to devotion of lectures, demonstration and exercise. The resullt in this community service activity, showed an increase in the skills of participants in making pakacging and marketing techniques. Suggestion can be submitted include: (1) For business owner in Semarang district, should take the advantage of human resources that have been trained to increase the productivity. (2) It takes longer to train the new participant to be able do the marketing and pakacging well. (3) It remains to be developed craft of vrious designs by using fabric wastes as row material, in order to obtain the creavity and innovative crafts. (4) For organizations devoted to the community (LP2M), training should be followed up with the other skill, such as: knitting, embroydery, accessories, etc. (5) Needs the net work with other department, such as Department of Industri in Semarang District, Chamber of Commerrse of Central Java andd others.

Halaman Laboratorium biologi terdapat bermacam-macam tumbuhan sebagai pendukung bahan :juga terdapat tanaman obat yang selama ini belum termanfaatkan secara maksimal Pengabdian ini melibatkan mahasiswa semester 2 jurusan biologi yang mendapatkan mata kuliah biokimia dengan perwakilan masing-masing rombel. Harapan dari adanya pengabdian masyarakat ini selain memaksimalkan penggunaan tumbuh-tumbuhan tersebut juga membantu mahasiswa untuk mengetahui cara ekstrasi dari tumbuhan tersebut dan kemudian mengaplikasikannya dengan membuat lilin aroma terapi. Abstract

Berkembangnya teknologi informasi, khususnya adanya komputer baik teknologinya maupun perangkatnya tentunya juga akan menyebabkan perkembangan pemakainya. Dengan populasi komputer yang semakin besar, peluang kerja dibidang komputer juga akan semakin terbuka luas. Untuk itu kompetensi tentang perakitan dan perbaikan komputer pada remaja khususnya remaja panti asuhan ”Baiti Jannati” sangat diperlukan agar mereka kelak dapat hidup mandiri. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini ialah agar masyarakat peserta dapat: 1). memiliki pengetahuan tentang perakitan dasar komputer, 2). Memiliki pengetahuan tentang perbaikan komputer, 3). Mengatasi gangguan jika terjadi permasalahan sederhana yang timbul sewaktu-waktu.

Abstract

One positive impact of technological development on education is providing facilities to support the learning and teaching process. The teachers to be more efficient, and the delivery of material can be easily conveyed through e-learning facilities. Schoology is an e-hearing media platform with various facilities that make it easy for educators and students in the educational process to academic results. The purpose of this activity is to test the usability level of using Schoology. The administration and teaching process to go to the level of understanding of operations through community service carried out at SMAN 2 Boyolali. Pre-test results that indicate that the high school has not yet implemented a learning management system. There are 5.26% of teachers who are only limited to learning the e-learning Schoology, while 94.74% only know it through the Universitas Negeri Semarang team. After the training, the results of the post-test show that 80.26% of teachers can use Schoology. The existence of e-learning training can help teachers support the teaching and learning process at school.

Abstract

Production activities in the oil and gas industry potentially cause environmental pollution, one of which is soil pollution. Soil contamination is generally found in oil refinery areas due to pipe spills or leaks, spills during tank cleaning or loading-unloading, and oil transportation processes. In this study, the treatment of oil-contaminated soil waste was carried out through oil recovery contained in the soil using water. The treatment process was applied to 3 types of soil waste, that is soil contaminated with oil, sandy soil contaminated with oil, and sludge, with processing times of 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes, and flow rates of 46, 90, 139, and 183 mL/minute. The water temperature used for processing is ±175 oC with a pressure of 14.5 atm. The results showed that the average decrease in oil content in the samples of oil-contaminated soil, oil-contaminated sandy soil, and sludge, respectively, was 37.7%; 5.8%; and 88.4%. Therefore, the application of this method is most effectively applied to sludge-contaminated soil waste. Based on variations in flow rate and processing time, the longer the processing time, the less oil content in the oil-contaminated soil waste, and the more recovered oil produced. Through the application of the oil recovery system on this oil-contaminated soil waste, the company can save budget, especially the budget for waste treatment reaching Rp 1,142,808.33 per ton. However, some parameters in the liquid waste from this treatment process are above the environmental quality standard so that it needs to be managed further.
