Abstract

Abstract Women’s roles in political and social world have been looked down by the society. The patriarchy system adhered by the Balinese people make women’s position subordinated to men. Even though women have big roles not just in private sector but also in public sector, Balinese’s women still think they do not have big contribution in their family. It is also happening in Gianyar, Bali. People in Gianyar Bali have a strict Balinese’s culture that make women have more role besides the other women in Indonesia. The research problem is what are women’s perception about their role in private and public sectors? The research was based on quantitative method by using questionnaire to 400 sample in Gianyar Bali. Research came out that women in Gianyar were spending their time dealing with household job and customary matters. They did not have time for themselves and consider themselves remain in the subordinated position. Women in Gianyar live under high hegemonic of their roles both in private and public spheres.

Abstract

AbstractThe painting tradition of Kamasan is often cited as an example of theresilience of traditional Balinese culture in the face of globalisation andthe emergence of new forms of art and material culture. This articleexplores the painting tradition of Kamasan village in East Bali and it’srelationship to the collecting of Balinese art. While Kamasan paintingretains important social and religious functions in local culture, thevillage has a history of interactions between global and local playerswhich has resulted in paintings moving beyond Kamasan to circulate invarious locations around Bali and the world. Rather than contribute to thedemise of a local religious or cultural practice, exploring the circulation ofpaintings and the relationship between producers and collectors revealsthe nuanced interplay of local and global which characterises the ongoingtransformations in traditional cultural practice.

Abstract

Brand loyalty is a long-term strategy to gain a competitive advantage in tourist destinations during the Covid-19 Pandemic era, which demands more efforts for destination managers to survive. On the other hand, the dimensions used to measure brand loyalty cannot yet be agreed upon because of the complexity and diversity of perceptions. The purpose of this study was to determine: (i) the dimensions of Bali brand loyalty as a tourist destination; (ii) the efforts made to develop tourism in Bali during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This research uses a quantitative approach supported by qualitative. To test the construct of brand loyalty, the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) technique was used with the AMOS program version 24. There were 120 respondents with the criteria that they had visited a tourist attraction in Bali at least twice. The results showed that: (i) the construct of brand loyalty is supported by cognitive, affective, conative and behavioural dimensions, where the dimension of behaviour plays a dominant role; (ii) efforts can be made by disciplined application of health protocols and promotion through social media.

Abstract

This article examines the local community participation in the Candidasa tourism area, Karangasem, Bali. The objectives are to identify the capital exchange practice of local communities with the tourism industry and then determine the type of local communities’ participation in the development of Candidasa tourism area. The community based tourism approach adopted to understand the phenomenon of local community participation. Based on observations and interviews can be addressed that the communities surrounding the Candidasa relatively have an exhaustive capital. However, the comprehensiveness of such capital is not accompanied by the proper capital exchange strategies by indigenous village institution as a representation of local communities. The local communities only get relief materials from tourism as a result of the capital exchange. Accordance with the practice of capital exchange, it can be said that this type of local community participation is included in the participation for material incentives. This type of community participation is still relatively limited, so it necessary to improve the their involvement into tourism development in Candidasa.
