Abstract

The aims of this research are to observe and analyze working capital of small industry  woodworking and welding businesses in Palembang City. This research will apply survey method by using20 small scale industries- holders as sample respondents. Data will  analyzed by using quantitative and qualitative methods, such as statistical frequency and cross tabulation, financial ratio analysis, and caculating working capital requirement.Research findings are 1)  the firm samples have simple organization and management. 2) They have no adequate working capital. 3) They have  problem in  increasing of raw materials costs, and operating expenses. The writer suggests that the firms have to obtain additional working capital to support the future sales.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence the adoption and use of electronic banking. The framework was developed based on the Technology Acceptance Model developed by Davis and the Diffusion of Innovation developed by Rogers and combined with self-efficacy, risk, and trust. This study uses data collected and processed from the list of questions. The population are customers of BCA, Bank Mandiri, Bank BNI in Palembang. Based on the population obtained a sample of 175 respondents. Sample selection techniques using Purposive Sampling method. Analysis using the approach of path analysis that use to explain the value of the independent variable on the dependent variable. The results showed that the perceived ease of use have a positive effect on the intention of use electronic banking. Perceived usefulness have a positive effect on the intention of use electronic banking. self-efficacy have a positive effect on the intention of use electronic banking. Perception of perceived risk negatively affect on the intentions of use electronic banking. Trust have a positive effect on the intention of use electronic banking. Intention of use has a positive effect on the actual use of electronic banking.

Abstract

In this paper, we are going to analysis the stucture, conduct and performance of Indonesian cosmetics corporation registered in Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI).    Industrial Structure is measured by Concentration Ratio (CR).Industrial conduct is measured by advertising intensity.  The performance of industry is measured by using the average of Return on Sales (ROS) for industry. The influence of consentration ratio (CR) to advertising intensity and to the profitability industry, and The influence of advertising intensity and to the profitabiliy industry were analyzed using descriptive analysis.  The result of this study showed the influence of the concentration ratio to advertising intensity and to the profitability industry, and The influence of advertising intensity and to the profitabiliy on cosmetics industry registered  in Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI)is not signifikan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate, analyze and obtain empirical evidence about the influence of the reward system, empowerment and motivation on employee performance at the District Office of Sitolu Ori North Nias.  The data used are secondary data which obtained by distributing questionnaires to the respondents. SPSS was used to analyze the research purpose .Findings revealed that all three hypotheses were tested acceptable . The result of estimation revealed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the reward system, empowerment, and motivation on performance at District Office of Sitolu Ulu North Nias staff.

Abstract

The study entitled “The Influence of Competency, Motivation, and Emotional Intelligence on the Performance of the Lecturers at the Private Universities Within Kopertis Wilayah II Palembang is carried out with the objective of revealing the magnitude of the influence of competency, motivation, and emotional intelligence both partially and simultaneously on the performance of the lecturers at the Private Universities within Kopertis Wilayah II Palembang. The study is triggered by the fact that the performances of some lecturers have not satisfied the expectation of the Law No. 14 of the Year 2005 about Teachers and Lecturers, especially in the field of research and dedication to the public. This is a quantitative study involving 97 respondents.  The regression test is used after the testing of classical assumption and the test of validity/reliability. The result of the study as a whole shows that the performance of 61.7% the lecturers at Kopertis Wilayah II Palembang is influenced by competency, motivation, and emotional intelligence; whereas the performance of rest of the lecturers, 38.7% is influenced by other factors (organizational culture, leadership, and etc.) outside this study. Some suggestions are proposed in this study as follows: The competency of the lecturers should be improved in the future.; The Presidents of the Private Universities within Kopertis Wilayah II Palembang should motivate the lecturers at their universities to be willing to carry out the Thidharma of Higher Education, especially in the field of research.; And the emotional intelligence of the lecturers at the Private Universities within Kopertis Wilayah II Palembang should be improved through the ESQ training.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to determine the effect of the current ratio (current ratio-CR), accounts receivable turnover (turnover Receivable-RTO), inventory turnover (Inventory turnover-ITO) and working capital turnover (Working capital turnover - WCTO) to profitability (Return on assets - ROA) PT. Pusri Palembang. The population of this research is the data monthly financial report period 2009-2012. Sampling method used was purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The results of the study showed that partial variable current ratio and the receivables turnover has no effect on profitability (ROA) while inventory turnover and working capital turnover has a positive effect on profitability (ROA). While the results of the study showed that the variables simultaneously CR, RTO, ITO and WCTO significant positive effect on profitability (ROA) with the R-square coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.763. This means that 76.3% of the dependent variable, namely ROA is affected by the independent variable CR, RTO, ITO and WCTO, while the remaining 23.7% is influenced by other factor.

Abstract

The study conducted to look at the effect of compensation, competences and working environment  toward the job performance of the employees of Disaster Management Agency of South Sumatra Province (BPBD Sumatera Selatan), aims to identify (a) to investigate partially influences of compensation, competency and working environment affecting the job performance of the employees of Disaster Management Agency of South Sumatera Province (BPBD Sumatera Selatan), (b) to investigate simultantly influences of compensation, competency and working environment affecting the job perofmance of the employees of Disaster Management Agency of South Sumatera Province (BPBD Sumatera Selatan), (c) to investigate which variable have dominant affecting the job performance.The method used in this study was causal method. The random sampel by using non probability with numbers of the population are 76, The technique of data collection was using questionnaries.The research finding shows partially compensation, competency a influence on job performance but working environment doesn’t influence it, simultantly compensation, competency and working environment influence on job performance of Disaster Management Agency of South Sumatra Province (BPBD Sumatera Selatan), Competency has dominant influence on employees job performance of Disaster Management of Disaster Management Agency of South Sumatera Province (BPBD Sumatera Selatan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and examine the effectof intellectual capitalon firm value through financial performance as an intervening variable. The value of the company as the dependent variable was measured using a Price to Book Value (PBV), the financial performance as measured by proxy intervening variavel return on equity (ROE) andearnings per share (EPS). While intellectual capital is measured using value added intelctual capitalco efficient (VAICTM),which consists of three components: human capital, organizational capital, and relational or customer capital. The objectof the research is the entire banking companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) according to defined criteria. Thenumber of samples that meet the criteria of only 29 banks with the financial reporting period from 2010 to2013. Based on the analysis and hypothesis testing, this study showed the following results: (a) Intellectual capital has an influence on the financial performance proxied by return on equity (ROE) and earnings per share(EPS), (b) the financial performance proxied by ROE and EPS positive effecton firm value(PBV), (c) Intellectual capital has no direct influenceon the value ofthe company, and(d) Intellectual capital effectindi rectlyon firm value(PBV) throughfinancial performancereturn on equity(ROE) andearnings per share(EPS). It explains that, intellectual capital owned perusahaan, which include; human capital, organizational capital and relational capital or integrated customer will result inbetter financial performance, will further enhance the company's overall value.

Abstract

This research is aims to analyze the influence of board composition and board education in implementation of good corporate governance to corporate value. Research carried out to the amount of State Owned Enterprisesin the period of 2010until 2012. Analyze the influence board of the company examine namely: number of commissioners, the number of independent commissioners, the number of directors, the business educational background of commissioner and business education background of directors on corporate value, where the value ofthe company using the value of Tobin's qand  the value ofReturn on Assets(ROA).The results showed that all the variables are jointly significantly affect the value of Tobin'sq and ROA. But partially variable that affect the value of Tobin's q is only the educational background of directors with the direction of a positive relationship. While partially variable that affect the value of ROA is only the number of directors to the negative direction of the relationship.

Abstract

Penelitian ini  dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk  mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh brand equity Kartu AS terhadap keputusan pembelian dan  mengetahui faktor apa yang paling berpengaruhi dari dimensi brand equity Kartu AS terhadap keputusan pembelian. Penelitian ini bersifat deskritif  menjelaskan pengaruh sebab akibat varibel independen dan variabel dependen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari sampel sebanyak 100 responden yang membeli dan menggunakan Kartu AS maka dari empat variabel yang diujikan yaitu brand awareness, brand association, perceived quality, dan brand loyalty, hanya satu variabel yang tidak mempunyai pengaruh terhadap keputusan pembelian yaitu perceived quality. Sedangkan dimensi yang paling berpengaruh adalah asosiasi merek ( brand association).
