This research was conducted to prove the influence of the dependent and independent variables. The research method used in this study is quantitative. Data analysis in this study is multiple linear regression analysis. This study uses annual secondary data from islamic commercial banks from 2015 to 2019. The data is using an Eviews9 application. The study results after the classical assumption test showed that the variables of Murabahah financing, CAR, FDR, and non-performing financing passed the test. The test results show that partially Murabahah, CAR, and FDR financing variables have a positive and significant effect on ROA. Non-performing financing can weaken the impact of Murabahah, CAR, and FDR financing on ROA. The implication of this research is the result of this study can be used as an effort to increase and further strengthen their performance to minimize the occurrence of non-performing financing, which affects the profitability of the   islamic commercial bank.

Abstract

Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS) is a new breakthrough in government financing based on social investment. The presence of CWLS can develop waqf instruments by integrating three main sectors at once, namely the commercial, fiscal, and Islamic social finance sectors. This study aims to discuss the SW001 series CWLS scheme and determine the relationship between the authorities that play a role in the utilization of cash waqf investment returns invested through State Sukuk by the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI). BWI consists of the use of returns when making investments for the first time and the utilization and optimization of the CWLS imbalance. The research uses a qualitative method with a case study technique using ATLAS.ti software to assist the coding and data analysis process. The results of this study indicate that there is a close relationship between the authorities who play a role in CWLS. Furthermore, the use of discounts and coupons managed by the Achmad Wardi Eye Hospital was realized in the form of waqf assets in the form of retinas, glaucoma centers and the provision of various free eye surgeries for the poor

Abstract

Islamic Rural Banks (BPRS) have an essential function for developing the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. For the BPRS to exist and not be liquidated, the BPRS needs to maintain its financial efficiency. This study aims to determine the efficiency of a BPRS in East Java. Then, this is to find out what affects the efficiency. Two Stages-Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) calculate the efficiency. The first stage of data analysis is carried out by assessing the efficiency of the BPRS. The second stage is the analysis of variables that affect efficiency using logistic regression. This analysis also uses the description of the year of the Covid pandemic as a predictor variable. The results of this study found that the BPRS in East Java was categorized as inefficient (inefficiency). However, from the 20 samples used, there are three efficient BPRS based on the average individual BPRS during the 2012-2020 period. Based on logistic regression analysis, it is known that the factors that affect the efficiency of BPRs include Operational Costs and Operating Income, Earning Assets, and the pandemic era.

Abstract

The study analyzes the factors that affect Non-Performing Financing (NPF) using the customer's socio-economic indicators (age, gender, education level, county). The research chose Indonesia as the object of research, because it has the largest Muslim population in the world and the development of Sharia Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in this country is quite promising. To identify the factors that influence non-performing financing in Islamic MFIs, we use the logit model to estimate the probability of factors affecting NPF. The results of this study indicate that the socio-economic factors of the customer, namely age, gender, education level, influence problematic financing. The results of this study give a framework for making strategic policy to maintain Sharia MFIs stability based on the dimensions of age, gender, level and education.

Abstract

Waqf assets are assets that can be utilized for the benefit of the people. Currently, there are many waqf asset management using internet-based Waqf Information Systems. However, the database used by the system is generally centralized, so it is prone to data manipulation. Each waqf entity has its data, causing data differences between waqf entities. This study aims to provide the concept of waqf asset management using Blockchain technology and Smart Contracts. The method is a qualitative analysis method with secondary data from various kinds of literature, study journals, and reports published by the government and related agencies. This study concludes that the concept of waqf asset management based on Blockchain technology and Smart contracts can facilitate the management of waqf assets, both movable and immovable assets. In addition, it can increase data transparency between nadzhir, wakif, and waqf regulators and minimize data manipulation. The role of regulators such as the Ministry of Religion, BWI, and BI is needed to create regulations that support the implementation of waqf management based on Blockchain technology and Smart Contract.

Furthermore, the researchers compared the corporate governance of Islamic banks in Indonesia and Malaysia. Data analysis used Moderate Regression Analysis and independent t-test analysis. The research data is the financial statements of each Islamic bank in Indonesia and Malaysia from 201 to 2020. This study shows that CSR cannot moderate the financial performance of Indonesian and Malaysian Islamic companies. Another result states that there is no difference in the implementation of corporate governance in Indonesian and Malaysian Islamic banks.
