Abstract

This study discusses the Pioneer Flight Development Planning, within the scope of the case studies in 2013 at an airline in Indonesia. Economic growth that is followed by the growth of air traffic growth certainly helps to improve both foreign tourists and local tourists. However, there are still some areas in Indonesia that still has a low connectivity or it could be said that has no connectivity. To overcome this, the government is required to hold a pioneering air transport as set out in Article 104 of Law No. I, year of 2009. The theory used in this study related to the preparation of air velocity diagram, budget planning, project feasibility evaluation, and preparation of income statement. The analysis in this pioneering flight route includes route of the development of targeted pioneering flight, such as KPA-Ternate with the route of Ternate-Gebe, Ternate-Mangole, Ternate-Labuha, Ternate-Morotai, Ternate-Galela, Mangole-Sanana, and NAC Paludengan Buol, Palu -Tolitoli, Palu-Tarakan and Palu- Samarinda. The result is expected to be a reference and it was likely a reference to other studies and further, especially for the development and contribution to the Republic of Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to test the hypothetical model that describes the correlation between motorcycling behavior and four latent variables assumed to make up bikers in action. A survey of 350 motorcyclists through purposive sampling was done by employing a research instrument. Validity and reliability test of research instrument were conducted by calculating the Cronbachs Alpha. Whereas, the hypothesis model test was conducted using statistical technique of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through Lisrel 8.72 software. CFI, Chi-square, and RMSEA are fit indexes used to test the suitability of the hypothesis model with field data (model fit). Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were used to evaluate the reliability and structural validity of the instrument used. Besides, they were used to test the hypothesis that a positive relationship between the observed variables and the four latent variables, as well as a positive relationship between the four latent variables and motorcycling behavior construct.

Abstract

In the telecommunication industry, network infrastructure holds a major role to deliver excellent service and achieve higher Continuity of Service to the customer. The demand of capacity and broadband speed in good quality (Internet, video on demand, wireless broadband, etc) has brought a fundamental change in the infrastructure and must be prepared by provider in deploying fiber optic backbone as part of a reliable system with the lowest attenuation. Factorial Design and Analysis of Experiments were used to get exact results that attenuation is determined by related components such as fiber optic brand, type of splicer, type of fiber termination and the location placed. Power Budget analysis is needed in deploying all the communication system, besides Operation and Maintenance activities in managing and monitoring the quality in real time mode. So when there is a fault in the system, it could be warned and recovered immediately. This gives signs to all telecommunication industry parties (provider, vendor, and regulator) to give mutualism contribution in providing reliable services to the customer.

Abstract

PT XYZ, an Indonesian public company, is one of cement producers in Indonesia. In order to produce good quality of cements, it designed manufacturing processes with good quality of facilities. One of its processes is burning process using rotary kiln with temperature up to 1,450 °C that may cause deterioration due to thermal expansion. Therefore, it should be coated by fire bricks as its spare parts. In general, a fire brick is built to withstand high temperature with low thermal conductivity. It also has such a limited useful life so that having excessive stocks may elevate costs, while running out of stock may cause the production to stop running. In order to keep the production running well, the company intuitively placed orders with additional 37.5% to its requirements. However, this technique has caused excessive stock levels and financial burdens. Therefore, the company has initiated an improvement initiative to optimize its stock. After conducting in-depth observation and comprehensive research, the company found that by using Spare Part Quantity Determination, it can reduce its inventory cost by 28.05% from previously inventory cost up to IDR 3.058 million to IDR 2.2 million per year.

Abstract

The 003/OHC/BRB overhead crane machine is one of the lifting machine for production at PT. Bukaka BRB that has the highest level of breakdown time among other production machines in the company. The purpose of research to determine the effectiveness of the machine overhead crane 003/OHC/BRB, so as to know the appropriate treatment method for the machine. Therefore, it needs to be analyzed from data collected at random to measure the effectiveness of the machine using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). OEE calculation is influenced by the availability rate, performance efficiency, and the rate of quality. Overhead Crane machine OEE calculation shows the failure in the ideal value of OEE as a result of the low availability of the machine rate (71.63%) and high breakdown time of the machine. To reduce the rate of breakdown frequency, method of treatment needs to be improved (maintenance). Routine maintenance can be performed by the operator to extend engine life and extending the time of the breakdown, using the method Autonomous Maintenance. The implementation of this method is expected to improve the durability of the engine, so the engine does not often experience breakdown.

Abstract

This paper describes the application of Tabu Search to solve a U-shaped line balancing problem which seeks to obtain the minimum cycle time using the number of workers available (type I line balancing problem). To accommodate the differences between operators, this paper uses stochastic processing times. The performance of the proposed algorithm is analysed using various hypothetical cases. The cases are different in terms of the complexity of presedensi structure, the desired cycle times, and the standard deviation of processing times. This paper also studies the impact of the Tabu Search parameters on the performance of the proposed algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to Maximum Ranked Positional Weight method in all the cases and to Ant Colony System-based algorithm in several cases. This paper also finds that in several cases, the performance of the proposed algorithm is not influenced by the parameters of Tabu Search.

Abstract

The process of industrial production in cast aluminum craft PT "ED" is done manually and begins the process of smelting aluminum with temperature (650-700) ° C and continued the process of pouring the mold over and over again (repetitive). This condition can cause heat stress and have health impacts for operators due to heat exposure if not properly managed. The purpose of this study is to determine the condition of the working environment in the process of casting in cast aluminum craft industry "ED" Yogjakarta. The study is conducted in the process of aluminum casting and foundry "ED" in Yogjakarta. The sample in this study is the operators on the production process of aluminum casting and pouring in aluminum craft industry "ED" Jogjakarta which amounted to 12 people. Measuring instruments used in this study are as follows. Camera, Stop watch, WBGT-meter, Luxmeter, Bathroom scale and Digital Sound level meter. Data subject conditions and environmental conditions is obtained and analyzed descriptively.
