Abstract

To determine the cause of frequent occurrence of defects required data processing using seven basic tools such as p control chart because the data is attribute data, pareto diagram to see part of the most dominant defect and cause-effect diagram to analyze the causes of disability. From the data processing done for the p control chart produced some printer models appear to be in a state of statistical control. And there are some models that are not in the condition of statistical control as evidenced by the release of some data in the chart control chart p. Pareto diagram can be known from experience that the greatest disability of all models are board games and housing assy lower. While the cause-effect diagrams that most contribute to the causes defect fail part is the part or parts of disability by itself. By looking at the data processing and analysis can be known that the defect that often happens is bad or defective component functions. And to improve the quality of SIDM assembly process in PT. Indonesia EPSON Industry needs to be improved by applying methods of SQC (Statistical Quality Control).

Abstract

Recently, an imbalance workstation in assembly line is one of the critical problems faced by many companies. Many researches have proposed various designs of assembly line balancing to solve this problem. This research compared straight line balancing and u-shaped line balancing which both had the same target to minimize the workstations. The result showed that u-shaped line balancing provided a better solution than the straight line balancing did in number of workstation. Straight line balancing utilized rank positional weight (RPW) whereas u-shaped line balancing utilized Critical Task Method (CTM). Significantly, u-shaped line balancing was more efficient than straight line balancing.

Abstract

Compensation is an important factor affecting how and why people choose to work at a organization. PT. Pabrik Kaos Aseli must be reasonably competitive and fair compensation system to attract and retain competent employees. The point rating system is the most widely used among job evaluation methods. It breaks down jobs into various compensable factors and places weights, or points, on it. Compensable factors identify a relative job value commonly present through-out a group of jobs. The factors are derived from the job analysis. Education, job complexity, responsibility, effort, and working environment are identified as compensable factors and weighted heavily. To reduce subjectivity, a group of people familiar with the jobs makes such determination. Once points have identified for all factors, the total points for a job are computed. After that, all jobs are grouped together into pay grades. The highest relative job value is Manufacturing Manager (7341.6) and the lowest one is Diesel & Workshop Operator (3622.2). To determine the pay structure, the interpolation method 1:3 is used with total cost increasing 7.55 %.

Abstract

The main problem experienced by PT. Packindo Glory is less optimal manpower planning in the company. Hence, the company often could not meet the demand of cardboard order. Therefore, this study is structured to assist the company in addressing this problem. In the planning of manpower requirement, we proposed and analyzed options of adding extra manpower and overtime working hours. The analysis are supported by data of requested carton during 32 weeks, data of regular working hours, and data of overtime hours and labor cost. The demand data are used to estimate the need for 16 weeks. The methodology used for forecasting the demand is the linear regression method, the Double Exponential Smoothing (DES) parameter Brown, and DES parameter Holt. The results show that the smallest error is found on the regression methods. Therefore, it will be used in estimating the carton demand. Based on demand data, we compile query plan requirements. The results show that the right strategy for the company for 16 weeks period ahead is by increasing the working hours of the overtime, which will further lower the cost by Rp. 640.000 or 11.11% cost reduction compared to reduction by adding workers. Based on the limited hours of overtime work available, then after 44 hours of overtime work, the company still needs to increase the workforce to meet the demand for paperboard.

Abstract

PT FNG is an industry engaged in the glassware industry in Indonesia. In implementing the distribution of PT FNG often experience problems in distribution of its products. Among others, the shortage or excess stock products. Which in turn has an impact on the overall cost performance. With the existence of bullwhip effect, profits earned by the company does not reach its maximum. The method used is forecasting to predict demand for one next year as an input for analysis of inventory performance. By using the model for seasonal products, the inventory of existing demand variability can be reduced by giving large values of the optimal echelon orders so the company gets the maximum profit. This study has obtained the most proper forecasting method for glassware production, and by determining optimal Q, has given influence to conduct coordination or involvement of previous echelon to obtain maximum profits
