Abstract

Power systems operation becomes more important as the load demand increases all over the world. This rapid increase in load demand forces power systems to operate near critical limits due to economic and environmental constraints. The objective in power systems operation is to serve energy with acceptable voltage and frequency to consumers at minimum cost. This paper studies the important power system phenomenon; voltage stability voltage stability is studies by using continuation power flow method and the effect of compensator, placement of generator and variation of line reactance on the voltage stability have been studied. Voltage collapse scenario is presented which can be a serious result of voltage instability and also the parameters that affected by voltage collapse are discussed. In analysing power system voltage stability, continuation power flow method is utilized which consists of successive load flows. This method is applied to a 14 bus sample test system and load-voltage curves for several buses are obtained. Simulation is done with PSAT in MATLAB. Continuation Power Flow was implemented using Newton-Raphson method. Simulation results show the proper performance of capacitor, variation of line reactance and placement of generator to improve voltage control on the lines and significantly increase the load ability margin of power systems.

Abstract

Wireless is an old technology; however with the advancement of science and technology it has enabled us to send signals to one or more devices without tangible wire connections and reduced complexity. The increasing human needs have lead to the integration of different technologies into a single unit and Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is one such integration where sensors are integrated with wireless system to form a network. This network is used for a plethora of applications in sectors like defence, agriculture, medical, environment and industry.

Abstract

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have gained importance in recent years as this support a large spectrum of applications such as automotive, health, military, environmental, home and office. Various algorithms have been proposed for making this technology more adaptive the existing algorithms address issues such as safety, security, power consumption, lifetime and localization. This paper presents an extension to HiRLoc algorithm and highlights its benefits. Extended HiRLoc significantly reduce the average localization error by suggesting a new method directional antenna based scheme.

Abstract

Information retrieval (IR) is the task of representing, storing, organizing, and offering access to information items. The problem for search engines is not only to find topic relevant results, but results consistent with the user’s information need. How to retrieve desired information from the Internet with high efficiency and good effectiveness is become the main concern of internet user-based. The interface of the systems does not help them to perceive the precision of these results. Speed, resources consuming, searching and retrieving process also aren't optimal. The search engine's aim is developing and improving the performance of information retrieval system and gifting the user whatever his culture' level. The proposed system is using information visualization for interface problems, and for improving other side of web IR system's problems, it uses the regional crawler on distributed search environment with conceptual query processing and enhanced vector space information retrieval model (VSM). It is an effective attempt to match renewal user's needs and get a better performance than ordinary system.

Abstract

Fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is a heuristic method by If-Then Rules which resembles human intelligence and it is a good method for designing Non-linear control systems. In this paper, an arbitrary helicopter model includes articulated manipulators has been simulated with Matlab SimMechanics toolbox and then we designed a fuzzy controller for its yaw and roll angles when the manipulators are moving for a task. Results reveal that a simple FLC can control this complex system well.
