Jurnal Ekonomi Modernisasi is a peer-reviewed journal that disseminates research in the fields of management and accounting. The journal publishes issues every February, June, and October. The journal is published with fully open access. It is published by the Economics and Business Faculty, University of Kanjuruhan Malang, Indonesia. Abstract

Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) merupakan kelompok pelaku ekonomi terbesar dalam perekonomian Indonesia dan terbukti menjadi katup pengaman perekonomian nasional dalam masa krisis, serta menjadi dinamisator pertumbuhan ekonomi pasca krisis ekonomi. Realitas yang tidak dapat dipungkiri lagi bahwa UMKM (Usaha Mikro, Kecil, Menengah) adalah sektor ekonomi nasional yang paling strategis dan menyangkut hajat hidup orang banyak, sehingga menjadi tulang punggung perekonomian nasional. Rendahnya profesionalisme sumber daya manusia yang mengelola, keterbatasan permodalan dan akses terhadap perbankan dan pasar, kemampuan penguasaaan teknologi yang rendah menjadi permasalahan yang harus dicarikan solusi untuk strategi penguatan UMKM

Abstract

A teacher has an important and heavy task in the case of improving the intelect of a particular society. Beside being an educator, a teacher also has a role as a trainer, an exchange agent, and a parent for a learner. Because of having such important and heavy task, s/he may lack of the emotional resourches. If a teacher faces the case continously, s/he will have emotional exhaustion, so that it may influence the working satisfactory and the teacher’s performance.This study aimed to analyze the direct effect and indirect effect of the emotional exhaustion through the teacher’s working satisfactory for the teacher’s performance. The sample of the study is the population of 137 teachers in MAN 3 Malang and MTsN 1 Malang. The research methods applied for the study are collecting data and distributing a questionaire, whilst the data analysis used is path analysis. The result of the study shows that teachers in MAN 3 Malang and MTsN 1 Malang have high tension of emotional exhaustion, while the working satisfactory and the teacher’s performance are categorized adequate. The emotional exhaustion has negative effects for the working satisfactory. It means when the emotional exhaustion among teachers in MAN 3 Malang and MTsN 1 Malang is high, the working satisfactory is low. The working satisfactory has positive effect for the teacher’s performance. As the working satisfactory is high, the teacher’s performance will be high. The emotional exhaustion has negative direct effect for the teacher’s performance. When the emotional exhaustion among teachers in MAN 3 Malang and MTsN 1 Malang is high, the teacher’s performance is low. The emotional exhaustion does not have indirect effect for the teacher’s performance through the working satisfactory.

Abstract

: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis pengaruh variabel-variabel fundamental yaitu Return on Asset (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Book Value Equity Pershare (BV), dan Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) terhadap harga saham perusahaan perbankan di Bursa Efek Indonesia; (2) menganalisis di antara variabel fundamental yaitu Return on Asset (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE),  Book Value Equity Pershare (BV), dan Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) yang berpengaruh dominan terhadap harga saham perusahaan perbankan di Bursa Efek Jakarta. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Purposive Sampling dengan kriteria sebagai berikut: (1) Perusahaan perbankan yang listing di BEJ sampai dengan tahun 1999. (2) Ketersediaan data selama 4 tahun sesuai dengan periode penelitian yaitu tahun 2003 sampai dengan 2006, diperoleh 13 perusahaan perbankan. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data kuantitatif, yang diperoleh dengan pendekatan pooling data. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder berupa laporan keuangan tahunan perusahaan perbankan dari tahun 2003 sampai 2006 yang diperoleh dari Bursa Efek Jakarta (www.jsx.co.id. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data adalah dokumentasi. Model analisis data yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh variabel-variabel fundamental terhadap harga saham adalah Regresi Linier Berganda. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan Faktor fundamental yang memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap harga saham perusahaan perbankan di Bursa Efek Jakarta adalah ROE dan book value equity per share, sedangkan variabel ROA, dan DER teruji tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap harga saham

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan memaparkan pengaruh faktor budaya, kelas sosial, kelompok acuan, motivasi, persepsi, dan pengetahuan konsumen secara parsial dan simultan terhadap keputusan pembelian, serta untuk mengetahui faktor yang paling dominan dalam mempengaruhi keputusan pembelian mi instan merek Sedaap di Desa Sekarpuro, Kecamatan Pakis, Kabupaten Malang.Populasi di dalam penelitian ini adalah ibu rumah tangga yang pernah atau sedang menggunakan mi instan merek Sedaap di wilayah Desa Sekarpuro, Kecamatan Pakis, Kabupaten Malang dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 120 responden. Penentuan sampel di dalam penelitian ini menggunakan rumus infinite population dari Daniel dan Terrel dikarenakan peneliti belum mengetahui jumlah pasti pengguna mi instan merek Sedaap pada wilayah yang ditelitinya. Sedangkan teknik yang digunakan untuk pengambilan data primer dilakukan dengan cara Accidental sampling, yaitu memberikan angket atau kuesioner kepada sampel yang menggunakan mi instan merek Sedaap yang secara kebetulan dijumpai, dimana kuesioner sebelumnya telah diuji melalui uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas. Untuk menguji faktor-faktor yang diteliti menggunakan software SPSS 13 for windows.Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa diantara faktor budaya, faktor kelas sosial, faktor kelompok acuan, faktor motivasi, faktor perspsi, dan faktor kelompok acuan, faktor budaya adalah faktor yang paling dominan di dalam mempengaruhi keputusan pembelian mi instan merek Sedaap. Karena memiliki nilai eigen value tertinggi sebesar 5.337 dibanding faktor lainnya

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to analyze direct influence of job satisfaction to employee's performance, to analyze indirect influence of job satisfaction to employees performance through commitment, to analyze direct influence job characteristic to employees performance, and to analyze indirect influence of job characteristic to employees performance through commitment.Using questionnaire, data were collected from 111 employee’s overall BPR at Kota Malang, sample taken by Proportional Random Sampling. Analysis used Path Analysis to test the direct influence and indirectly between job satisfaction to performance, and direct influence and indirectly between job to performance thorugh commitment.Result of research indicates that the job satisfaction have the direct influence to performance and also have the indirect influence to performance through commitment. This finding support the research Morisson (1997), Alhassan (2002), Riza (2001), Bhuian and Menguc (2002), and Pantja Djati and M. Khusaini ( 2003). Job characteristic only have the indirect influence to employees performance that is through komitmen. This finding supporting the research of Chonko and Wood ( 1985) and Ramaswami, Agarwal And Bhargava (1993), but not supporting the research of Fried and Ferris (1987). This research shown that the best influence is direct job satisfaction to performance, its meaning most influencing variable of performance attainment is the make-up of job satisfaction

Abstract

Service quality has an important role in enhancing company performance. A key factor to win the competition lied in the company ability to make its costumer satisfy. Service quality has already become main focus for RSI Aisyiah, and the service quality enhancement is the most serious challenge that must be done in all sectors. In a tight competition and fast business environment changes, consistency in quality service is necessary to maintain superiority in competition, so the RSI WAFA Kepanjen performance could be enhanced. The objective of this research is to analyze influence the service quality, which consists of reliability, responsiveness, empathy, assurance, and tangible, on hospital performance. The number of sample is 78 from 350 respondents (Annual Data Report RSI Aisyiah, 2007), by purposive sampling technique. The respondent criteria are patients who had been hospitalized in RSI WAFA Kepanjen. Data were analyzed by multiple regression models.Result of research descriptively shows score mean obtained that reliability, responsiveness, empathy, assurance, and tangible dimensions have been well applied in RSI WAFA Kepanjen and in its marketing, which is indicated by costumer retention of RSI WAFA , is relatively high. The multiple regression analysis shows that the service quality has significant impact on marketing performance simultaneously in RSI WAFA Kepanjen and partially, all five dimensions of service quality have significant impact on marketing performance of RSI WAFA. It means that hospital performance can be obtained by maintaining service quality improvement. The improvement of hospital performance and patient satisfaction can be effectively done if all existing elements have a high commitment and loyalty to the company in maintaining service quality. Due to that reason, RSI WAFA Kepanjen need to apply proactive and partnership marketing in an effort to approach the costumer and by enhancing service quality could also give contribution on hospital performance

Abstract

Employees’ organizational commitment is behavior reflecting employees’ loyalty to the organization and continual process where employees express attention to the organization and success in reaching organization goals. Existence of organizational commitment is important for the organization, especially in tight business competition arena. The purpose of this research is to test and analyze the effect of corporate culture, and corporate image to the employees’ organizational commitment. Based on data from 162 non manager respondent, from 9 modern retail industry, by using analysis technique SEM in α = 0, 05, the research find that (1) company culture influence insignificantly to the employees’ organizational commitment of the modern retail industry sector employees, (2) corporate image affect significantly to the employees’ organizational commitment of the modern retail industry sector employees.

Abstract

This paper explored capital structure theory since 1952 to 1996. The Capital Structure theory firstly introduced by David Duran (1952) to estimate value of the firm. Modigliani and Miller introduced MM-theory and become landmark the capital structure theory because the many paper always referred to the paper. Pecking order theory, Agency Theory and Signaling  theory and Dynamic capital structure explained in this paper.

Abstract

According to agency theory (Jensen and Meckling, 1976), shareholders are called principal while the manager who runs the business is called the agent. The manager who is elected by the shareholders actually has to act on behalf of the shareholders but there are some conflict between them (agency conflict). The causes of that kind of conflict deal with the decision making related to the activity of cash flow (financing decision) and how the finance gained is invested (investment decision). The policy of optimal investment structure is not only influenced by the amount of debt and equity, but also by the percentage of share. The objects of this research are manufactures during 2005-2006. The sample consist of 49 companies. The analysis is using double linear regression. The result shows that both managerial ownership and institutional ownership have significant impact and negatively related to the company’s debt policy. The findings also show that managerial ownership and institutional ownership may reduce agency conflicts which finally minimizes yhe agency cost of debt.Future researches are expected to develop the methodology and the research variables so that the result will be more accurate. Besides, this research can be developed and widened from regional to international, so that the result will be more creative
