Abstract

Nesi Eka Putri (09070022), Learning Activities Students Lesson In Sociology Class XI IPS SMAN 3 Lengayang South Coastal District. Thesis. Sociology of Education Studies Program (STKIP) PGRI West Sumatra, Padang, 2013The research was motivated by the low activity of learners in sociology lesson. The low activity of learners is shown from the students are not serious in learning, while the teacher explains lessons chide and creative learners in improving learning less look of the tasks performed by the students did not do well. This study aimed to describe the activities of learners in the learning process sociology class XI IPS SMAN 3 Lengayang South Coastal District.Type of research is classified by the type of descriptive qualitative research. The research object is the class XI students of SMAN 3 Lengayang IPS2 South Coastal District by the number of students by 32 people.The tool used for this study is a list that contains the results of observation checklists and learning activities of learners are processed using the formula percentage (%).These results indicate that the percentage of learners learning activities in class XI IPS2 SMAN 3 Lengayang listen to an explanation for the activity with the percentage of 53.26% of teachers, students listen to a friends question with a percentage of 27.41%, the students listened to a friend reply percentage of 28.10%, students read the book before the learning process starts with a percentage of 3.89%, students read notes/ summary of lessons with a percentage of 5.18%, subject matter with students noting the percentage of 38.53%, accounting for the bulk of students/ incomplete material that teaches about the percentage 24.88%, the student asked the teacher if students do not understand the material being taught with a percentage of 1.91%, the students asked the friend if students do not understand the material being taught teachers with a percentage of 5.09%, students answer questions from teachers and friends during the learning process takes place with a percentage of 1.91%, students only have to answer questions from the teacher during the learning process takes place with the percentage of 10.2%, of students working on a given task well with the percentage of 34.36 % of teachers, students working on the task only partially/ not complete with the percentage of 36.58%

Abstract

The background of this research by the field which is used as a gold mine eyes so that the transition from peasant society to pencharian penamabang gold so that the economy and lead to increased consumptive lifestyle while rice is used as a gold mine that has been damaged by gold reserves are depleted while society is still running so implications for the socio- economic status of the family owners pascapenambagan gold fields . This research uses descriptive qualitative research . The type of data is the primary data and secondary data . Methods of data collection is done in two ways : ( 1 ) observation , ( 2 ) interviews . Analysis of the data used by the model of interactive data analysis ( Milles and Huberman ) . The results pascapenamabangan Jorong gold in Koto Panjang tilled fields that have been left alone out into the swamp and sand . Socioeconomic status of the family owners pascapenambangan gold fields in terms of educational informant merely elementary , junior high and high school , work informants as housewives , artisans ojeg , farm laborers and workers of gold mining . while revenue declined informants and people involved including gold mining investors , operators , foremen , and laborers

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adat-istiadat dalam bentuk Kenduri Sko yang masih dipertahankan oleh masyarakat Desa Lolo Gedang-Pasar Kerman sampai sekarang dan apa fungsi Kenduri Sko bagi masyarakatnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1). Mengungkapkan alasan masyarakat Desa Lolo Gedang-Pasar Kerman masih melaksanakan Kenduri Sko, (2). Mengungkapkan fungsi Kenduri Sko bagi masyarakat Desa Lolo Gedang-Pasar Kerman, Kecamatan Gunung Raya, Kabupaten Kerinci.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe deskriptif. Informan penelitian yaitu tokoh adat dan masyarakat yang dapat menjelaskan fungsi Kenduri Sko. Jenis data yang digunakan yaitu data primer dan data sekunder. Metode pengumpulan data berupa wawancara dan dokumenter. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah dengan model analisis interaktif menurut Miles dan Huberman yaitu aktivitas analisis data dilakukan secara terus-menerus sampai data tersebut tuntas dan akhirnya jenuh.Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan (1). Alasan masyarakat Desa Lolo Gedang-Pasar Kerman masih melaksanakan Kenduri Sko, yaitu a). Kenduri Sko tidak bertentangan dengan agama Islam, b). Kenduri Sko dilaksanakan karena pesan dendam dari nenek moyang (pesan artinya sampaikan dan dendam artinya berkepanjangan), selain itu, Kenduri Sko juga memiliki fungsi bagi masyarakatnya. (2). Fungsi Kenduri Sko bagi masyarakat Desa Lolo Gedang-Pasar Kerman yaitu: a). Ungkapan rasa syukur  tehadap Allah SWT, b). Berterima kasih kepada nenek moyang yang telah merintis, mengarah, dan manaruko, c). Mempererat tali silaturahmi antara keluarga yang satu dengan keluarga yang lain.

Abstract

Women are very important in the development potential. It is proved by the emergence of womens emancipation in all sectors, one of them is in the informal sector. The involvement of women in the informal sector has limited to resources and access. As a result, in the business options that can be entered also has range in some specific areas such as food hawkers peddling. The background of this issue is women itinerant food vendors in performing activities where she has to leave the family in a period of 9-10 hours a day. Before she goes home or goes to work, she has to do homework at the same time. The objectives of this study were 1). To describe the activity of female itinerant food vendors around Terminal Sicincin, and 2). To analyze the constraints faced by women in the work of itinerant food vendors.The theory used is the theory of Exchange (Exchange-Behavior) by George Homans. This study used qualitative methods with descriptive type. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentary studies. Decision madeby the informant porpousive sampling or based on certain criteria. Data analys is used the model data analysis Milles and Huberman.Based on the results obtained the following conclusions: first, Itinerant food vendors female activity, which can beseen from: 1). Description of the allocation of time, ie work outside the home as an itinerant food vendors conducted from 08.00 am until 17.00 pm. 2). Interaction among fellow itinerant food vendors see the cooperation, competition, and conflict. 3). Tips market mastery of the situation, which used the day off, buyers want to attend, give discounts to buyers, the established image salted egg and boiled bananas males. Second, the constraints experienced by women hawkers food vendors are obstacles in the work, the driver and passenger buses are not friendly, the absence of the pump, and the buyer on certain days.

Abstract

Background taken this problems bacause the learning of teachers only implement elabotarion activities alone moderate exploration activities and confirmation is often not implemented. One for students can understand on learning materials is to carry out the core activities consisting of exploration, elaboration and konfirmation. The aims of this study to know describe the influence of process implementation of the core activities of teaching sociology at SMA Kartika 1-5 Padang. This type of research is ex post facto, the study subjects were taken proportional random sampling. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPS consists of 4 classes. The sampling technique is done randomly, which was selected as the sample class is class XI IPS 1 and IPS 2.  The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire using a Likert scale form. The data analysis technique used in this study were student activity that has been modified to be observed student activity. Assessment results of this study were students of the core activities undertaken by teachers is very influential because most students rated the highest at 51,25%, while the lowest at 23,75%. For teachers, the core activities affect learning in high school sociology Kartika 1-5 Padang, due to the influence of the highest value of 100%, while the lowest value of 20%.

Abstract

SMA Negeri 1 Talamau has established regulations that prohibit students carry cell phones in school because it would have negatively impacted the learners in the learning process . However , students still carry and use mobile phones in school . This study aimed to describe the function of the manifest and latent functions of the use of mobile phones by students in SMA Negeri 1 Talamau . The author uses the structural functional theory . Robert K. Merton mengemukan manifest functions and latent functions . Manifest function is desired functions , while the latent function is a function that is not desired . This type of research is a qualitative approach using descriptive type . This research sites in SMA Negeri 1 Talamau . This study describes about the situation as it should . Selection of informants using snowball sampling technique . Type of data is the primary data and secondary data were collected through observations , interviews and documentation . Analysis of the data used is interactive model analysis . The results showed the manifest function of the use of mobile phones by students in schools as a means of communication with teachers , family and friends . In addition , learners also use mobile phones as a tool to seek assignments and as a means to relieve the boredom . Meanwhile , the latent function of the use of mobile phones by students in school , as a tool for social networking and open to take pictures.

Abstract

Discipline is one of the components that determine the educational achievement at school. With the discipline in students are expected to arise conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning in schools. As one of the institutions of formal education, SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping has issued a policy relating to rules and regulations. Schools impose sanctions for any violation point made by students in an effort to enforce discipline. The purpose of this study was to describe the cause of the implementation of sanctions effectiveness points in the enforcement of discipline in SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping and to explain the impact of the implementation of sanctions effectiveness points in the enforcement of discipline in SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. The study was conducted in February and September. This type of research is a qualitative approach using a case study type. This research sites in SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. This study is only an attempt to make a description, a picture of a situation as it should. Selection of informants using purposive sampling technique. Type of data is the primary data and secondary data were collected through observations, interviews and documentation. Data analysis technique used is an interactive model of analysis. Results of this study indicate that (1) point penalty imposed may restrict students in behaving towards positive. This is due to the strict sanctions and fair in its implementation. (2) good socialization process also makes this point penalty to be more effective. (3) the cooperation of all components of the school such as the principal, vice-principal, subject teachers and counseling teachers make effective sanctions this point. (4) the impact of the adoption of this point of sanctions is to make students more responsible and the teacher can help teachers to control the students behavior.

Abstract

Turuk laggai a village dance is full of symbols. First turuk laggai symbolize about  animal  life  activities,  for  the  treatment  of  ceremonies,  and  feasts  Mentawai. Now turuk laggai besides symbolize about the activities of animal life also symbolized the  social  life  of  the  community  about  the  activities  of  a  ceremonial  nature.  The problems of this research are: 1) What is the meaning turuk laggai, 2) What shape shifting value and function turuk laggai, 3) What factors are causing a shift in values and functions turuk laggai, 4) How does the existence of the villagers turuk laggai Tuapejat subdistrict North Sipora Mentawai Islands. The purpose of this study is to understand the meaning contained in turuk laggai, describe the form and function of the  value  shift  turuk  laggai,  analyzing  the  factors  that  cause  a  shift  in  values  and fngsi  turuk  laggai,  as  well  as  the  existence  turuk  laggai  currently  in  the  village  of North Sipora Sub Tuapejat Mentawai Islands. The type of data in the form of qualitative research using descriptive methods. The  technique  used  for  data  collection  are  observation,  interviews  and  document research. Informants in this study set out intentionally (purposive sampling), which consists of 22 indigenous people living in the Mentawai Tuapejat. Results of this study revealed that turuk laggai a village dance that has artistic value, sacred and mystical, which is held at each ceremony. Turuk laggai divided into two parts, namely: 1) Turuk sikerei is sacred and mystic, who works for the ceremony and punen  pulaggengan  kamateiat,  2)  turuk  simata  is  turuk  that  is  entertaining,  which serves to show punen putalimaugat. Shape shifting value and function turuk laggai is the loss of traditional ceremonies that use turuk laggai that are sacred and mystical, so turuk laggai only used for ceremonial rituals that are fun. Contributing factor is religion, government, technology, education, natural and economic conditions. While the  existence  of  the  villagers  turuk  laggai  Tuapejat  manifested  in  the  form  of management  of  Studio  Team  Ogok  Laggai  administered  by  the  Department  of Tourism Culture and Sport, held in the form of ceremonial occasions.

Abstract

One of the compulsory subjects of STKIP PGRI is subject of educational field practice which known as Praktek Lapangan Kependidikan (PLK) that its goal is to make students have ability to utilize knowledge that has been studied in real situation on teaching activity and non-teaching activity at the practicing school, so that students get experience in teaching. Every students who will participate in PLK are provided with variety of knowledge and skill firs, which is appripriate with competence. However, in reality, based on author’s observation in SMA Pertiwi 2 Padang about realization of PPLK of STKIP PGRI Sumbar in period of Juli-December 2012, author found many problems faced by PPLK students. Purpose of this research is to reveal : 1). Contraints faced by Sociology student when practice teaching in SMA Pertiwi 2 Padang, 2). Tutor teacher’s effort in overcoming constraints faced by Sociology students in PPLK at SMA Pertiwi 2 Padang.This reasearch is done by qualitative approach and descriptive type. The selection of informants of this research was done by purposive sampling, informants of this research were six person which 4 persons are Sociology students and 2 persons were teachers tutor of Sociology subjeck. The data of this research were primary data and secondary data. Primary data was all the data obtained from the informants of research, and secondary data was all the data obtained from school as support such as dokuments rule, the data of teachers and students, reading book and RPP. The technique of data colection in this research were the us of interview technique, observation and documentary. All data obtained were processed and analized by using Trianggulation technique through several phases : data collection phase, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion process.The result of this reseach revealed that : 1). Constraints faced by Sociology students in PPLK at SMA Pertiwi 2 Padang were : a). Lack of ability in construct learning device or RPP, b). Lack of ability in mastering teaching material, c). Lack of ability to apply basit skill of teaching, 2). An effort from the tutor-teacher in overcoming constraints faced by sociology students in implementing PPLK at SMA Pertiwi 2 Padang, as follow : a). Provide examples or guidance to students about how to construct RPP, b). Provide guidance and instruction to every students who will do teaching learning process in classroom, c). Notify the students about the idicators that should be given to students, d). Give instructions to the students about how the implementation of teaching and learning process in the classroom.

Abstract

Poverty is typically described as a lack of income to meet the basic needs of life. One way to get out of poverty is education. Poverty makes it difficult for people to get a better education. This is because the cost of education in general expensive. No all parents are able to finance their studies. But in Nagari Talu of 106 poor households, 15 % of parents send their children to college. The purpose of this study to describe the strategies of poor families in Nagari Talu continue their education in high to college. The theory used is instrumental social action proposed by Max Weber.This research method with qualitative approach and descriptive type. Selection of the study informants in doing proposive by sampling. How to collect data in this study is primary data and sedukner. Collection engineering data in this study is the observation, interviews, documentation. From the results of this study revealed that: strategies that parents use their children to continue their studies to college height: a) patterns of a double living, b) assistance from extended family, c) help fromn eighbors
