Abstract

There are some factors which are assumed to have effect on risk perception and risk attitude. This aims study to explain the effect of internal factors on risk perception and risk attitude. The internal factors in this study consist of overconfidence, experience and emotion. The sample was selected from the investors in Surabaya who invested in capital market. The data were collected by means of questionnaires. The questionnaires of surevy respionses weresidtributed to 104 investors in the capital markets of Surabaya. The analysis was done by using Generalized Structured Component Analysis (GSCA) to test hypotheses. The result show that internal factors have no significant effect on risk perception and risk attitude, and neither does risk perception on risk attitude.

Abstract

This research tries to review the factors determining the benefit expected by Micro, Small and Medium enterprise bank customers. It also reviews the effect of benefit expected on satisfaction of credit services given by conventional banks. Besides, this study compares some factors expectedbetween micro, small and medium enterprise bank customers. It is based on theory relationship of relational benefit and satisfaction. With the sample of 150 conventional bank customers of Micro, Small and Medium enterprise in Surabaya and cities surround, analysis is done. This analysis is conducted by descriptive analysis, factor, and multiple regressions using SPSS 18. Relational benefits are expected by micro enterprise is that the customer intimacy to contact personnel, and trust over quality, both factors are influencing satisfaction. For small enterprises, relational benefits expected are that customer intimacy to contact personnel and also conformity of services and priority. From these three factors, factors influencing satisfaction is conformity of services and priority. While for medium enterprises relational benefits expected is customer intimacy to contact personnel, additional services and conformity of services. From these three factors, factors influencing satisfaction is additional services and conformity of services.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of dividend payout ratio and dividend yield on stock price. Population taken consists of all manufacturing companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). From this, the sample was taken comprising 23 companies. This took a period from 2007 to 2011, using purposive sampling method with simple regression analysis test tools. It was found the dividend payout ratio both increased and decreased but did not have a significant effect on stock prices in which the dividend yield decreased. However, in testing the hypothesis dividend yield increase, it was also found that there was a significant effect on stock prices. Such finding was due to absence of force of dividend signaling theory in Indonesia; the prevailing theory is theory of rent extraction hypothesis.

Abstract

value to customer satisfaction, which in turn are as the determinants of repurchase intention at Solaria restaurant Surabaya. Service quality refers to perception of the extent to which the services are provided with customer expectation. Customer perceived value is based on the difference between what the customer got and what customer provided for the possibility of different options. Customer satisfaction is very important to the success of the company as it is assumed to be a major driver of post purchase phenomena, such as repurchase intention. This study used non random sampling with judgemental sampling. Respondents which were selected using the consideration of an individuals ability to provide a specific type of the information needed by the research. Data were collected from 150 respondents who had visited solaria restaurant in Surabaya more than once. The method analysis used in this research was Maximum Likelihood test using the program of AMOS version 18.0. It showed some of findings namely the service quality of positively and significantly affected the customer satisfaction while perceive value did not significantly affect the customer satisfaction and, finally, customersatisfaction positively and significantly affected the repurchase intention at Solaria restaurant.

Abstract

Holding periods is the period of time during which one owns a security. In addition, holding period is influenced by transaction cost, market value, and risk. The objective of this research is to analyze the effect of bid-ask spread, market value, and variance return on holding period. The analysis of the data was done by multiple regression analysis. Using the data from 34 companies in LQ-45 index period 2010-2011, the results show that market value has positive effect and variance return has negative effect on holding periods. Theresults also show that Bid-Ask spread has no significant effect on holding periods. Investors will hold long position on securities that having higher market value and short position on securities that having higher risk.

Abstract

This research aims to find out whether there is a relationship between the prices partially and a Blackberrys customer satisfaction, the previewed value and a Blackberrys customer satisfaction, and the quality and a Blackberrys customer satisfaction in Surabaya. Besides that, it also attempts to reveal whether there is a relationship between price, perceived value, and quality simultaneously and a Blackberrys customers satisfaction in Surabaya. Analysis is done by means of multiple linear regression analysis in SPSS 16.0. This study took 100 people as the respondents for getting the data which was conducted in Surabaya with a sample of the Blackberry users who have been using a Blackberry for at least 6 months. The sample technique is convenience sampling. It shows price significantly affects customer satisfaction; the perceived value has no effect on the customer satisfaction. Yet, quality significantly affects customer satisfaction. Simultaneously, price, perceived value, and quality affect the customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Market efficiency has become a vital discussion so far. Therefore, it is a good effort when the study attempts to analyze factors in market efficiency. This study tries to investigate the existence of the market anomalies such as Monday Effect, Week-four Effect, and January Effectin Singapore Stock Exchange during the period of 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2012.Using non-random sampling technique, especially the purposive sampling, this study took 27 companies from the Strait Times Index as the sample of this study. The data used in this research comes from the daily closing prices of the samples. The three hypotheses are tested by means of independent sample t-test. The result shows that there is no evidence of the market anomalies phenomenon on Strait Times Index. Neither of Monday Effect, Weekfour Effect, and January Effect exist in Singapore Stock Exchange during the period of this study. The disappearance of this phenomenon is suspected as a result of the global economic crisis which led to changing the investors trading behavior in capital market. Furthermore, the characteristic of the Singaporean investor and the Governments policy about tax regulation are also another reason why this phenomenon doesnt exist in Strait Times Index.

Abstract

This research examines the effect of service quality on satisfaction and its impact on customer loyalty and intention to switch of the customers of PT. Pegadaian in Surabaya. There were four important variables: service quality, customer satisfaction, customer loyalty and intention to switch were discussed for better understanding of consumer behavior. The research employs a structural equation modeling method based on the data collected from105 customers of PT Pegadaian in Surabaya. This research uses purposive sampling technique to determine the sample size. The result shows that Service Quality has significant and positive influence towards customer Satisfaction. In addition, Customer Satisfaction has influence towards Customer Loyalty and Customer Intention to Switch.

Abstract

This study attempts to solve the problem dealing with a good profitability of bank which occurs when net interest margin (NIM) on bank rises from year to year. However, this does not occur in the local government banks. Therefore, it is very important to find out what factors are influencing the decrease of NIM in local government banks. The aim of this study to determine the influence of demand deposits, saving deposits, time deposits, loan received, interbank placement, securities and loans both simultaneously and individually have significant effect on the NIM growth in local government banks. It uses multiple regressions for the analysis. It shows that demand deposits, saving deposits, time deposits, loan received, interbank placement, securities and loans growth simultaneously did not significantly affect the NIM growth in local government banks. Demand deposits, saving deposits, time deposits, interbank placement, loan received and loans growth partially did not affect insignificantly and negatively either. The security growth partially has significant and positive effect on the NIM and among seven independent variables; security growth has dominant effect on the NIM.

Abstract

Entrepreneur activities bring a great contribution to economy creativities. In this case, Indonesia has the majority of Moslem and some of them run their own business. Islam encourages entrepreneurship. This study attempts to investigate the influence of religiosity and risk perception in investment decision making on gender perspective. There are two independent variables namely religiosity and risk perception, while dependent variable is investment decision making, and gender as moderating variable. This uses questionnaires for collecting the data. With 110 Muslims entrepreneurs Sidoarjo, the collected data are analyzed by Generalized Structured Component Analysis (GeSCA) descriptively. The respondents still have not fully implemented religiosity. Respondents also tend to have high risk perception. The result showed that religiosity and risk perception have no effect on investment decision making. Also, gender did not find as a moderator. It indicates that men and women have the same perception on risk when they made investment decisions.
